The Jedi often crossed the line, engaging in acts that would undeniably be considered torture. Jedi generals often commanded their clone troopers to pursue fleeing Separatist forces, primarily composed of battle droids. This practice stands in stark contrast to the teachings of Yoda when he instructed Luke Skywalker that Jedi should only use their skills for defense, never for attack. The Jedi also authorized the breaking of a century-long treaty with Mandalore that prohibited the Republic from invading its sovereign territory. "War Criminal" is a label for people/nations that break the rules established in the Geneva Convention. Most countries break these rules routinely on earth, so I can imagine it'd be the same in a galaxy far away

To be fair, the Mandalorians asked for the Republic's help, and I would hardly call Maul their rightful ruler. He only became ruler by killing the previous one, who himself usurped the throne through treachery.
Exactly! the government of mandalore that made the deal with the Republic had fallen, a previous governments deals do not matter unless the new one decided to re up their dealings.
@@GeneralSturnn this is true governments that make a deal only are legitimate while the government that introduce the documents still exist. once they fall the new government is under no obligation to uphold the previous government standing. deals have to be made before 'the event' to ensure the continuation of previously establish documents.

Jedi mind trick isn't a war crime, according to real life law, because there is nothing in real life law that covers space magic.
You can shoot a fleeing enemy. As long as they're not Hors de Combat they can be targetted. There are three things that make you Hors de Combat
1. Anyone who is in the power of an adverse party (I.e. being a prisoner)
2. Anyone who is defenceless because of unconsciusness, shipwreck, wounds or sickness
3. Anyone who clearly expresses an intention to surrender
And that is as long as he or she abstains from any hostile act and does not attempt to escape. It also means that as long as you are in uniform, you do not need to be armed to be a legal target

No, the Jedi wouldn’t be war criminals by any stretch. This is just more Jedi hating and bashing.
You could make the case that they made bad decisions in their strategy decisions but they aren’t war criminals. The examples you give don’t amount to war crimes. Doesn’t mean they were wise decisions but that’s not a crime. As for pursuing the separatists that isn’t a violation of the Jedi code of using their power for defense only. In the context of war the old adage that a good defense is a good offense applies. The separatists were the offensive force against the Republic and the Jedi were defending the Republic. Of course this is before they were aware of what was going on. But defending doesn’t always mean to sit back and wait to be hit. By pursuing the droids they were in fact staying in a defensive posture.
What Master Yoda means is that the Jedi don’t offensive attacks. Not that you can’t pursue attackers once they start it. Is Yoda guilty of violating this code or rule by entering Palpatine’s office chambers and seeking to off him? I don’t think so.
Im not familiar with the other examples but those wouldn’t be war crimes in my view. I’m talking about killing civilians or grotesque acts of torture. Simply making some feel uncomfortable isn’t it.

oh yeah totally. according to real world international laws regarding what is and isn't a War Crime, the Jedi have committed quite a lot. a common war crime is using a flag of truce to trick an enemy. that's a very common one that a lot of Jedi have pulled, Anakin doing it at least three times
