The Aussie fascination with your best player batting at 3 is very strange. No difference coming in at 10-1 or 10-2. But in the current test, huge difference between 20-1 and 60-2
It was always my understanding that the better defensive player would come in at three as more often than not they would be dealing with a relatively new ball. The man has got no clue and too set in his old ways
@@MrWiggiJ nah, it just that you don’t like hearing the truth. 99% of people commenting on this issue is the same. Chappell tells it how it is. Good on him

13:30, will one of the captains be brave enough to bowl.? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Toss and deciding to bowl...
People are losing interest in Cricket in Australia. I don't we will see the Australian dominance ever again. India will keep defeating them on their own soil.
I thought the same but I don’t think that’s the same scenario after ashes and the T20 World Cup they won .
@@anshbhatia3459 the current core of players is really good. But once all of them retire who will replace them? The same thing is true for NZ. This also happened to South Africa and Sri Lanka as their core team retired and the next generation was not ready.
The problem is T20 and the big dollars it can bring you in contracts and endorsements. Take T20 away and you have a much deeper pecking order. $1m for an IPL season and why wouldn’t these young blokes just consider concentrating on their T20 career. It has taken too much away from the truer forms. ie: tests and shield or county cricket. Just my opinion though. We can definitely dominate again like we did in the 90s and early 00s. But not while there is so much $$ being offered. What would you choose if you were offered lucrative IPL contract or test debut? I don’t blame anyone, but for the younger generation I think it is blatantly obvious. I personally think T20 was the biggest mistake made by the ICC. 👍🤫
@@thomasgowans3837 I agree and your points on t20 cricket & the $$ money it offers are valid to some extent. However, my point is that the biggest t20 tournament that pays you those big bucks is organized by India. So it should have affected the young Indian generation most. But India is still producing great talent that is technically correct to play Test cricket which I see lacking in the SENA countries.
They need to play more tests. They haven't played since India last year. They used to play 12 to 15 tests a year.
Khwaja should open
Ashes not that hot a thing these days ! England a super white ball team 😌😌 but not a great red ball team.
Fast forward 2023, Crawley still only avg 28.
Batsman…batter is baseball.
He called NZ Tasmania lol
His not born yet Australia's next great batsmen
Here after England are 2/200 at the Gabba 😂
But not 5/500. That's the problem.... They just collapse.
The best cricket commentators were Tony Cozier, Bill Lawry, David Gower, Holding, Bishop and Ian Smith.
All the rest were way too biased and incapable of being objective.
I would have been inclined to ask the panelists what they think of the REAL rivalry between mighty India and not so mighty Australia with the Ashes relegated to secondary importance?
Plz invite that Buffoon Michael Vaughan.
Rocks in his egotistic big head
What happened to BATSMAN? These modern terminologies drive me nuts. Keep batter for cooking or for women cricketers 'as a sign of respect' and differentiation. Trust me, some of them should be referred to as batsmen tho.
Hhhh Allan border
The biggest issue for Australian cricket is that no one likes your win at all cost even if it means cheating ways.
