I searched every inch of water in, out, and around Riften trying to find that non-existent crate of glass arrows! Did anyone go searching for these Notes’ contents?
here's a fun fact never mentioned in-game, Vekel was once an orphan at Honorhall. Meaning he definitely had to deal with Grelod growing up, kinda sad that they didn't make him comment on that
Would've loved the thieves guild way more if mercer ended up not being the villain, would've been cool if the elf chick actually did kill gallus and made up a whole plot to get back into the guild and frame mercer, it was just stupidly obvious he was bad from the start... I think that was my biggest problem with the skyrim factions, not that the missions were boring or anything, the plots were all just too predictable with obvious bad guys
The fact that the mysterious and rude thalmor agent spying on the school was shockingly revealed to be, *gasp* the main villain of the college of winterhold, really made that story disappointing
Not to get started on the underdeveloped generic bandit look of the Silver Hand who could’ve been a rouge splinter faction from the Companions trying to hunt out the Werewolves within the Companions and stay true to Ysgramor’s memory instead of being literal Daedra worshipping Werewolves.
I like that mercer was the villain. Cuz too many times elves are often the cause or villain of a quest. You go to a random cave, read a journal, it an elf or wizard being the issue
Y'know, I was never happy about having to pledge my soul to Nocturnal. My character wanted his soul to go to Sovngarde to be with his people. I would always roleplay that he was secretly hoping to get out of it somehow.
Honestly, as the dragonborne you have promised your soul to so many people that once you die there's probably bound to be some tug-of-war going on. That is, of course, assuming the dragonborn doesn't become a god in their own right by their death, in which case they could potentially just armwrestle the daedras one by one.

Hmm just as I thought... the one to do with a different Elder Scrolls is unknown. I feel that I might have discovered a type of syndrome. I shall call it the Skyrim Syndrome. Where one person plays Skyrim but refuses to play or learn from anything from a different elder scrolls. I better get a Nobel prize for this...
@@metetural9140First off, not original (but nothing is). Second, a lot of people were introduced to Elder Scrolls through Skyrim, that's not a bad thing! Do you really expect someone to know every little detail about every single game whether they've played them or not? It's ridiculous to think that! I've played 3 so far and I definitely don't know that much. Besides videos like these help point people to new information they might not have known about that universe, in fact people might be MORE likely to play the other games if they see something that sounds neat!
@@DaBayleef first off, it would be original if those original people are... wiped from existence... Second, did I say that? I only said that it was ironic that the one to do with another elder scrolls game that wasn't skyrim was not known. That the skyrim community is mainly just a bunch of people who played skyrim and no other elder scrolls game. Third: I disagree. Well with this video atleast. Yes lore and fact videos are very good for people to learn but it isn't when Nate gets things blatantly wrong. Then people think it's right, spread it around and make people believe it.
@@metetural9140 1. Ah yes, I might've misinterpreted the second part a bit because with the way it's worded to me it sounded like you were saying a person will only play Skyrim and pretend the rest doesn't exist or something like that (refuse is a very strong word to use because it's an extreme like never or always so it might sound better but could misconstrue your point. Gotta love essays!) 2. For the most part people should usually take whatever is presented to them at face value (we don't, but we should) because not everything we get told is true, we just hope it is. Fact checking is always a good idea so you don't spread misinformation, but for a game and things like it, it's not the end of the world if something is wrong and if people want to learn more about something and find out "hey this thing was wrong" then cool! If Nate says something wrong, point it out to him and direct him to a SOURCE so he can fix the misinformation! Just telling me that he gets things wrong doesn't help your case too much because you gave me a statement, no proof. 3. When I read your initial comment, it didn't come off as being a joke, it seemed a little rude. If I misinterpreted it completely, I'm sorry about that. I hope this clears things up.
I'm pretty sure Vipir also referred to Sapphire as a "stupid cow" as well then says "You dont know what you're missing!" Nate must've not like it and cut that part out, well played.
I dont know whether you already cover this or not but i'll share it anyway: 1. Sapphire is actually the daughter of Glover Mallory (the blacksmith on Raven Rock, Solsteim) 2. You can find out about this, if the player has registered as the member of the thieves guild, the player can actually talk to Glover as he is actually one the members of thieves guild and the brother of Delvin.... then, after that Glover will give you a quest which upon completion, he will give you access to his basement filled with loot.... and in that basement you can find a letter Glever wrote for Sapphire 3. And you can actually take that letter and give it to sapphire... and that will unlock unique dialog from her and personally i think it would hopefully give her some closure(?) To her tragic past I think it still counts as "secret of the thieves guild" cos the game never actually tell us (directly) about this... even the act of giving the letter to Sapphire wont show in your quest journal... Amazing video as always Nate, keep up the good work
No no no no no. Completely wrong. The Morag Tong and Dark Brotherhood are extremely different. They hate each other and the Morag Tong where the ones who killed the Night Mother. The Morag Tong are a legal guild of assassins in Morrowind and kill people for money and to serve justice. Unlike the Dark Brotherhood who just kill for Sithis.
Your characterization of the player interaction with the Morag Tong in their Dragonborn DLC storyline made me laugh so hard, I had to stop the video. Great job!
From what I remember... (it's been a loooong ass time since I played Morrowindle). The Morag Tong are nothing like the Dark Brotherhood, the Morag Tong are legally sanctioned assassins, hence the "Writs of Execution" that you get, you use them if you get caught by the law, basically tells the guards to let you assassinate the target and leave you alone xD...I miss the Morag Tong... I like the idea of lawful assassins haha.
The Gray Fox was only involved in the Cyrodiilic branch of the Thieve's Guild, not the whole of Tamriel. The Theive's Guild as a faction is not like some sort of interconnected web across all of the continent, it's largely independent if you look from province to province, but they're unified by the fact that they are all Thieve's and Criminals. Also, by the end of the Thieve's Guild questline the Gray Cowl of Nocturnal had the Curse lifted from it, meaning it doesn't make any sense if one of his parents was the current Gray Fox. This is just my take on the information we're given though, so if anyone's got anything to add feel free
Idk, if I was Vex I'd probably take Delvin up on his offer. That was a pretty saucy letter 😏. But I kinda wish you could help Sapphire "take care" of Vipir the Fleet.
The problem with all these Gray Cowl theories is that everyone just ignores how the curse of being removed from history was lifted, making most theories involving the Gray Cowl just in general a moot point
I just beat this questline! It started awesome when your sneaking and crimin' about, then kinda went off the rails w/ Mercer Frey/Karliah storyline. Didn't realize this was one of the tougher questlines.
Regarding Rune, I suspected the exact same thing. in fact, I started reading books because of that character. I started reading every single book and note I could because part of me wanted to solve that mystery. My suspicion? The player was supposed to be a Nightingale, and Rune was to become the new Guildmaster and it would be a kind of partnership, and he'd have quests as well to go on - like restocking the guild bank with riches. I was hoping for a Fable III type turn where the player had to build up wealth for the guild to help restore their influence.
It might be a bit crazy, but I found a lot of similarities between Rune's backstory and Lone Starr from Spaceballs. Always thought it was an Easter egg. Maybe Rune is an "Honest to god prince."
How about the little-known fact that Karliah is the granddaughter of Queen Barenziah herself? For reference, see "The Nightingales, Vol. 2" by Gallus Desidenius (in-game book).
Fact: Sapphire was supposed to be a marriable character after completing a quest to find out about her father. However Bethesda cut this from the game, you can still find out the truth about her father if you the Dragonborn DLC (but if you do, do not try the Bedlam Job, you will get Raven Rock and it is glitched).
Actually, Tonilia will sometimes mention her relationship with Vekel to the player saying something along the lines of "Vekel and me have a thing going. Try anything and it'd be bad for your health." So I guess she has a bit of a jealous streak too. Lol
3 things I dislike about the Thieves Guild is you can't take Brynolf, Karliah, Vex, or any of the members as followers, you can't upgrade the Nightingale Hall, and Brynolf has glitched dialogue
So i just found out that linwe's armour has its own 4 unique enchantmens for stealth skills stronger then the originals. I always wondered if runes name is linked to the bug jars ? 🖒🍁🍀🍻
The Volcano didn't destroy all of Morrowind, just Vvardenfell and as we discover it wasn't total, they were and are rebuilding Vvardenfell. If you search around and listen, you discover Balmora and Vivec City are being rebuilt.
I find it hilarious when Ravyn Imyan tells us his past and that the Dark Brotherhood would have his head if they knew he was in Skyrim, as he is a former Morag Tong member when the Dragonborn is potentially the listener and current leader of the Brotherhood, and I would love to see a mod that allows us to tell him we are the Listener and current leader of the Brotherhood.
Ps: The glowing blue runes on the Grey Fox Mask/ Nocturnal's Cowl says "Shadow Hide You." You might even recognise the second last rune (second from the bottom) as the "O" rune, synonymous with and ubiquitous through Oblivion.

Comment on it, and he'll give you a quest to retrieve something of his. Complete it, and he'll give you a key to his basement, where you can take any and all inside, including a letter he writes to his daughter, but never sent.
I loved every thing about the Thieves Guild except for two Notes, ‘Shipment’s Arrived’ and ‘Timely Offer’. I took the notes literally and spent hours looking for the contents espoused in the notes. I searched every inch of water in, out, and around Riften trying to find that non-existent crate of glass arrows! Did anyone go searching for these Notes’ contents?
Oh yeah! (And yeah, I'm 3 years late to your comment and this video! 🤣)
@@WalterPavlikII I appreciate that you commented and that I wasn’t the only one on that searched for those nonexistent crates!
here's a fun fact never mentioned in-game, Vekel was once an orphan at Honorhall. Meaning he definitely had to deal with Grelod growing up, kinda sad that they didn't make him comment on that
And for the first one, it kind of gets confirmed by Glover Mallory in Raven Rock that Delvin has a thing for Vex.

"You don't know what your missing"
"No, but I do know your going to turn up missing if you keep this up"
*OH.*
Y'know, I was never happy about having to pledge my soul to Nocturnal. My character wanted his soul to go to Sovngarde to be with his people. I would always roleplay that he was secretly hoping to get out of it somehow.
I mean if it helps you, think about it as that, since you are dragon born and have the soul of a dragon, akatosh/auri el makes the decision.
Honestly, as the dragonborne you have promised your soul to so many people that once you die there's probably bound to be some tug-of-war going on. That is, of course, assuming the dragonborn doesn't become a god in their own right by their death, in which case they could potentially just armwrestle the daedras one by one.
I’m sure at the end
It depends who the Dragonborn believes and worships more that their soul goes to that belief
@@AstarionWifey nope they are definitely going to akatosh as the dragon born is a dragon and there many theories that supports this claim.

Gotta love essays!)
I realize comments were deleted but this really just feels like I'm hearing a conversation between Cicero and his Hat or something
It wasn’t that important but Delvin’s brother in Raven Rock asks something like “Is Delvin still trying to get In with Vex?”

I'm pretty sure Vipir also referred to Sapphire as a "stupid cow" as well then says "You dont know what you're missing!" Nate must've not like it and cut that part out, well played.
I'm just annoyed that you can't destroy them like you can the Dark Brotherhood for full paragon of virtue points.
I like how in the first 10 seconds he shows a clip where he kills someone and the thiefs guild while thing is they dont want to kill people
I dont know whether you already cover this or not but i'll share it anyway:
1. Sapphire is actually the daughter of Glover Mallory (the blacksmith on Raven Rock, Solsteim)
2. You can find out about this, if the player has registered as the member of the thieves guild, the player can actually talk to Glover as he is actually one the members of thieves guild and the brother of Delvin.... then, after that Glover will give you a quest which upon completion, he will give you access to his basement filled with loot.... and in that basement you can find a letter Glever wrote for Sapphire
3. And you can actually take that letter and give it to sapphire... and that will unlock unique dialog from her and personally i think it would hopefully give her some closure(?) To her tragic past
I think it still counts as "secret of the thieves guild" cos the game never actually tell us (directly) about this... even the act of giving the letter to Sapphire wont show in your quest journal...
Amazing video as always Nate, keep up the good work
I thought the Morag Tong were a group the dark brotherhood descended from. I read a book in Skyrim that mentioned them both together.
Daedric artifacts usually end up back with the daedric prince they came from, to be given out again at some other time

Honor among thieves my brother
From what I remember... (it's been a loooong ass time since I played Morrowindle). The Morag Tong are nothing like the Dark Brotherhood, the Morag Tong are legally sanctioned assassins, hence the "Writs of Execution" that you get, you use them if you get caught by the law, basically tells the guards to let you assassinate the target and leave you alone xD...I miss the Morag Tong... I like the idea of lawful assassins haha.
Keep up the good work Nate! I love your videos
I’d love to point out the fact that Gallus wrote the nightingale books... you know the old guild master who mercer killed

"Go fiddling with any locks around here, we're gonna have a real problem"
But we broke the curse on the cowl in Oblivion. History was restored after we broke it.

That would be hilarious.
"He seems to only exist to take up space" daaaamn the burns!
Can confirm. I have gotten married and had my first child waiting for Elder Scrolls VI.
My kids are waiting for TES6, and unfortunately, they've only played Skyrim.
To be honest, I've always wondered about Rune and always wished to find out more. Interesting theory.

Thankfully, you can talk to Delvin about cancelling the job with no repercussions.
Actually, Tonilia will sometimes mention her relationship with Vekel to the player saying something along the lines of "Vekel and me have a thing going. Try anything and it'd be bad for your health." So I guess she has a bit of a jealous streak too. Lol
She said that to my male character once
