I think it's supposed to be insinuated that a lot of the steps are covered by snow, forming the snowy uphill slopes and that there were originally 7000 steps, but quite a few are now either weathered away or covered.
Fun fact about Voice of the Sky, you don't need to read all the tablets again to regain it. The game registers whether or not you've read the first nine tablets AT ALL and then enables the tenth tablet to give you the effect. Afterwards, if you want to gain the effect again, you can just go and read the tenth tablet again, because the game still registers that you've read the first nine. The tenth tablet is, of course, right outside High Hrothgar, so a simple fast travel there will save you a boatload of time running up and down the mountain.

The two that stick out to me are Cyber Chase, kinda, where the virus is more or less "killed," but the thing SEEMS to have emotions and, if I remember correctly, screams in pain as it's erased, and Zombie Island, where the evil women all totally die towards the end. I think all of the Jim Stenstrum movies had a bit of a darker, grittier tone with a few deaths sprinkled about.

Skyrim is so lazily coded that nearly everything is a spell effect. Go to any forge and jump on it over and over... congrats, somehow you're a wizard, Harry, because you've just leveled your Destruction. My guess is that it's because the game needs a few conditions to be met for the player to train Destruction: - *you* need to trigger the attack; - it needs to be elemental damage; - it needs to be applied to a valid target; And jumping on a forge? - *you* trigger the "attack"; - it's fire damage; - attack is applied to a valid target (you); Therefore the game counts it as if you had just successfully cast a Destruction spell. Good times.
Here's a good one for you: The Necromage perk in the restoration skill makes spells more effective against the undead. However, this applies to not only spells, but also enchantments, potion effects, and even perk effects. On top of this, if the player is a vampire, they will be flagged as undead. This means that any spells, potions, enchantments and perks that effect the player will be stronger.
The one that got me and is probably the hardest magic skill to get (compared to others) is silent casting. Never knew it worked on shouts. Suddenly marked for death+stealth become op as all hell
@@steveno3141 silent casting was op. my fav build to make is a magic assassin, using alteration, conjuration, illusion and restoration. stealth gets broken is skyrim at lv 100, since you can instakill anyone in combat by sneaking first (i used mods which increased all forms of damage for difficult reasons, so this might not work in the bade game). combo that with bow summons, silent distraction summons (summons count as separate entities and as such dont give you away) on demand armour (flesh spells), invisibility and then the ability to fully restore stamina in one click, effectively meaning you dont need to level stamina ever, makes a sick ass combo. then add in smart use of enchanting and potions to get a stupidly high damage dagger and youre set
1: The magic of the cloud district. This can only be used by Nazeem because he is way stronger than the Dragonborn. This power grants you the power of the cloud district. Do you get to the cloud district very often? Oh what am I saying, of course you don’t.

I've got a pretty good theory ; What was Aerin doing in Mzinchaleft? Was he following Mjoll? how did he get passed the centurion? And because the gate to the ruin was closed, he must have carried her the entire way back through Mzinchaleft! How? I have a theory about Aerin that answers a few questions about this character. I think Aerin was once a member of the Dark Brotherhood and Mjoll was his target. There is plenty of evidence to back this up too, like 1) Aerin having a notable wealth (we can rule out him being part of the Theives Guild, as there is a radiant quest to steal from him). We know that the Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim pays 100 gold per contract. this could explain his wealth without having a paying job. 2) This explains why he was in Mzinchaleft and was able to go without being noticed by Mjoll as she was in there (We can figure that he got there fairly quickly, as Mjoll was still breathing when he got there) 3) this also could answer the question of who the black sacrament in Maven Black-Briar's home belongs to. we know that Maven and Mjoll don't have much of a liking for each other. this could have been Maven trying to bring an end to Mjoll meddling in her dealings. 4) It's very obvious that Aerin is in love with Mjoll, and he could have started falling for her when he was stalking her for his kill. this could have been his reason for leaving the Brotherhood, and the reason he always follows her is so that he might be able to keep her safe from any other Brotherhood members, as he knows who they all are. after finding her, he couldn't bring himself to kill her. 5) Aerin must have some sneaking and fighting skills, as Mzinchaleft can prove to be a challenge for even the Dragonborn. so he would need to be more capable than he lets on to be able to find Mjoll, carry her ALL THE WAY BACK and be able to come up with a story to trick Mjoll into coming with him back to Riften. or it's nothing and I'm just over thinking this, but it's a question that I don't think I've ever heard anyone else ask. You can use this theory in one of your videos if you want to.
Your third point is invalid because Mjoll didn't come to Riften until Aerin brought her there after the incident. Therefore, she and Maven had never met. You do raise a very good question about why some schmoe would just happen along by a Dwemer ruin halfway up a mountain in the middle of nowhere. Mjoll does say that she managed to drag herself out before losing conciousness and being found by Aerin, but still... Edit: And another thing! Have you noticed how far Mzinchaleft is from Riften?? No, it just doesn't add up. This is prime material for a Reddit discussion, if that hasn't already happened.
The third point could stand as neither Mjoll nor Maven say when they met. Mjoll may have prevented some illegal activity from Maven without knowing who she was before Mzinchaleft. And we all know Maven doesn't take kindly to... well anything! Too much is lefed open to interpretation with my theory I know, but we might be onto something...

The whole point of head cannon and theories is to have a bit of fun to add to the game. I got way too exited to actually check anything and for that I apologise. It's because of a bug in Dawnguard. For some unexplained reason, Bethesda added all vampires to the Prey faction, which is one of the factions affected by Voice of the Sky. Fortunately, the UDGP fixes it.
You can technically do dawnguard at level one just go to the castle if I remember correctly EDIT: I meant to say the Fort it's been a while since I've done dawnguard
@@gw4792 You have to save Serana first, which involves going past vampires but also Thralls and Deathhounds (which I'm not sure if they count for Voice in the Sky or not). It would make it easier, but not a cake walk.
@@kingdavey90 that's about all I use it for. And I have so many characters from so many playthroughs that have two potions of the Phantom stashed somewhere, never to be used.
Surprised you didn't mention that the "silent casting" perk in the illusion tree also effects shouts, even though it makes no mention of this. Can be super useful for thieves... Plus the idea of "shouting" silently is just funny.
Circle of Protection is actually mad useful on its own if you dual-cast it and have Necromage. Even Draugr Death Overlords will flee in terror from it. That's quite preferable to them hitting the player with Unrelenting Force and executing the player afterward with a well placed Ebony Arrow.
Or disarming the player who then spends the next 30-60 seconds trying to find their daedric artifact weapon or just goes fucking and starts punching the fucker.
Vampires in Skyrim are for some reason set as Wolves in the game files, but no clue why, I only know it because of a werewolf mod that made me friends with wolves.... and seemingly vampires....
I LOVE Prowler's Profit! Of the last ten playthroughs, I only skipped getting it twice. One playthrough, I put a basket in my home and dropped in only the flawless gems. I had SO many, the gems were spilling out, and it was a BIG basket. Combine with the Merchant perk, and you'll never spend another gold piece again.

Fun Fact: Circle of Protection is also one of the best ways to train Restoration, you can cast it everywhere and anytime and it will always level up your restoration.
just use conjuration swords and get the soul trap perk. ez. seriously though, modding improves this game so much. i revamped conjuration so much, so the point where i could apply spell effects to summoned weapons

@@nessesaryschoolthing lol I know that feeling. I usually make an arcane blacksmith ( Alchemy, Enchanting, Smithing, and Speech) as a female Imperial so I can take advantage of the Allure Perk for that bonus 10% discount. Happens a lot once you start selling Banish Daggers.
Imperial start is pretty strong economically, but eventually money perks become redundant. Having 10K coin without exploits/console at level 13 even after buying Breezehome and all its decorations without 100% looting (IE only taking a single trip through a dungeon for 300 pts of weight; which realistically drops to ~200 because of armour/consumable hoarding) means money isn't really ever a problem. Plus any speech/monies enchant buffs aren't worthwhile until you can unlock richer merchants because they just run out of money too fast. The game just doesn't seem balanced around anything but "normal" play and even that's never been an issue once you get a home. They had to keep adding things to the end game for people to spend it on.
@@grazzer88 use the coins to level up alchemy, smithing, enchanting, and speech. Between the usage of alchemy and/or enchanting to level up anything to level 100. Speech is useful in the leveling of the Thief Tree Skillsets. Once everything is level 100, purchase all properties and their upgrades, even more so, acquire a property such as the one in Falkreath, as well as, a spouse such as Yslonda in order to fully capitalize on the marriage aspect of the game. Do not become a werewolf until end game because: +20%EXP(ANY Guardian Stone)+15%EXP(Marriage: Lovers Comfort)+15%EXP( A.C.: Lover's Stone) =50%EXP GAIN!
I don't know how, but I remember actually being able to see the effect of Prowler's Profit in my Active Effects list a couple years ago... It was saying something like "You found more wealth in chest" or something.. Good video in any case ! Cheers from France !
Something useful about the merchant perk effecting npcs inventories is how if you want to get rid of a ‘stolen’ tag on an item, you can pickpocket it into their inventory and then just buy it back. You’re essentially paying them to remove the tag. [Not sure if it works on everything but… 🤷♂️]
That explains why the vampires pretending to be vigilance didn’t attack me when I came back from the mountain. I always invest in speech, even for other games like Mass Effect (save Wrex).
DaMan Rando I always get his family armor*, but didn’t know charm or intimidation wasn’t required to save Wrex. Although I’ll still put points into it, I may test out the other dialogue next time I play *I do everything I possibly can do before going to Virmire. Between Noveria and Virmire, I go to all the systems and do all side quests. I kill all (nine by my count) Thresher Maws (Nonuel has two). There is no after-gameplay in Mass Effect (Mass Effect 2 is another story), so I do it all
I think it more likely because of the beastly nature of vampires. Heck, even vampires refer to others of their own kind as Vile Beasts / Vile Creatures. (mostly the Vampire story line NPCs, and the court wizard of Solitude).
Vampires are part of the a faction shared with wolves ingame (making them allies with eachother) and since you are made passive to wolves, this also applies to Vampires of the same faction
Ive been playing Skyrim for years and never knew about Voice of the Sky. I feel dumb because i thought the tablets just told you stuff and do nothing besides just say some lore.
A slight critique on your vid, the thieves guild quest to recover those gems can start anytime you pick one up. This is actually hard not to do imo because it is such a visually unique and pretty item who would not take it?
Here's something I found out. Windelius body doesn't turn to dust if you resurrect him (He's quite useful in early - mid game, he also didn't get those annoying zombie like sound). As long you didn't "lost" him you basically get your self extra companion.
There's actually a spell you missed, Nate. Repel Virginity. It's a spell I have yet to find. I have read about it in books, seen it in action. But nobody ever taught me it...
I found it by accident. You need to find a breakable wall in High Hrothgar and use Virgins Rage shout after learning it by bringing 100 virgins to the grey beards. Use it at the wall, after that, the wall will break and there you’ll see a chest. However in order to open said chest, you’ll need to travel to White run and get rejected by Ysolda 500 consecutive times. There you should learn the spell Autistic Screech. Use it to boost your strength to 1000 and you’ll open the chest to find Potion of the Chad which will turn you to a Chad that will boost your Virginity loss by infinity this granting you an infinite supply of women waiting for you in real life
i already knew about the circle of protection loop, the voice of the sky perk and the prowler's profit perk. i DIDN'T know that the voice of the sky perk affected vampires too. i don't refresh it often enough to see that happen. but prowler's profit can net you some TRULY immense gains as you can use the gems you find as ingredients for the atronach forge, and use the rest for jewelry.
Heck, or even (and even better imo) let us learn them by destroying them, like with enchantments. Call it "testing" or "research potion". Just use the alchemy station for double duty (again, like how enchantments work). Awesome idea, hope you don't mind me expounding on it 3 years later lol. Some modder, get on this! Lol
not to be mean or anything but the guy living in the dungeon had been there for a year (for clarification its the guy with the ghost elixir) if you talk to the nearby towns inn owner hell talk about him and mention him specifically by name and say that hes been missing for nearly a year. so no he has indeed not been there for a few weeks lol.
Prowler’s profit is balanced by the fact that there are no quest markers to find those unusual games. Without using mods or guides, it’s almost impossible to get them. In my multiple playthroughs, I never even bothered to complete the quest.
In my opinion Windelius did not get “grazy” because of the potion, he just was so obsessed to find the hidden ”treasure” inside the barrow and because he couldn’t figure out the puzzle he got paranoid and eventually lost his mind.
You can actually start the Stones of Barenziah quest immediately. If you get the 'unusual gem' from Balgruuf's room, then go to Vex to get it appraised, it kicks off the quest
I don't know if on the PS3 is different because i've only been playing pc Skyrim for about two years, but Voice of the Sky is good for 24 real life hours, not in game , meaning if you play 3h at the time, it will last you 8 gaming sessions. And if you kill an animal (not fish or insects) the effect is lost. At least it was like that. :|

It's the other way around, thieves guild makes this perk useless, as it needs high investment in speech, and the merchant perk has completely different uses.
Merchant is a fantastic perk, I don't care who you are. And the Fence perk is mostly when you're too lazy to go to Thieves Guild fences. So you pay a vendor 500 Gold, permanently increase their gold (meaning more gold at any given encounter), and can now sell stolen items to the vendor and not have to go to a fence. It's a convenience factor.
@Hoàng Nguyên lock picking is easy when you resto loop up an enchanted ring that gives you 10,000+ lock picking... Even the hardest locks you don't even have to move the pick, just turn it open
I always thought i was finding those extra gems because of the “treasure hunter” lockpicking perk. I like this ability because i would sorta role play and bring all my gems home to my wife and put em in a jewelry box next to the bed
As a master theif there is one thing that I hate... Not being able to steal from vendors stock... I can ransack their homes. I can ransack their place of work. But their stash is under the floor away from where I can get to it... Its not nice.

Fun fact (I think): you can complete the Stone's Unturned quest really early, because you just need to be a member of the guild to talk to her for the quest to start

3) this also could answer the question of who the black sacrament in Maven Black-Briar's home belongs to. we know that Maven and Mjoll don't have much of a liking for each other. this could have been Maven trying to bring an end to Mjoll meddling in her dealings.
4) It's very obvious that Aerin is in love with Mjoll, and he could have started falling for her when he was stalking her for his kill. this could have been his reason for leaving the Brotherhood, and the reason he always follows her is so that he might be able to keep her safe from any other Brotherhood members, as he knows who they all are. after finding her, he couldn't bring himself to kill her.
5) Aerin must have some sneaking and fighting skills, as Mzinchaleft can prove to be a challenge for even the Dragonborn. so he would need to be more capable than he lets on to be able to find Mjoll, carry her ALL THE WAY BACK and be able to come up with a story to trick Mjoll into coming with him back to Riften.

I knew about Prowlers Profit. The problem is that by the time I complete that quest, I am soooo rich, that the extra gems are meaningless.
They are really useful for enchanting if you have the Ordinator Perk mod from EnaiSion.
I just hoarded every gem I found inside my house.
You can fudge the score and complete the quest with only two gems if you spam the interact button while picking it up.
I give them to beggars and the poor
I have literal hundreds of gems in my inventory and not enough merchants I can sell them to (because they all run out of money after like 8-12 gems)

Dawnguard Legendary Playthrough with Iron Dagger on level 10!
It's because of a bug in Dawnguard. For some unexplained reason, Bethesda added all vampires to the Prey faction, which is one of the factions affected by Voice of the Sky. Fortunately, the UDGP fixes it.
Neither did I it's ok 😂😂.
You can technically do dawnguard at level one just go to the castle if I remember correctly EDIT: I meant to say the Fort it's been a while since I've done dawnguard
@@gw4792 You have to save Serana first, which involves going past vampires but also Thralls and Deathhounds (which I'm not sure if they count for Voice in the Sky or not). It would make it easier, but not a cake walk.

@@kingdavey90 that's about all I use it for. And I have so many characters from so many playthroughs that have two potions of the Phantom stashed somewhere, never to be used.
Surprised you didn't mention that the "silent casting" perk in the illusion tree also effects shouts, even though it makes no mention of this. Can be super useful for thieves... Plus the idea of "shouting" silently is just funny.

Circle of Protection is actually mad useful on its own if you dual-cast it and have Necromage. Even Draugr Death Overlords will flee in terror from it. That's quite preferable to them hitting the player with Unrelenting Force and executing the player afterward with a well placed Ebony Arrow.
Or disarming the player who then spends the next 30-60 seconds trying to find their daedric artifact weapon or just goes fucking and starts punching the fucker.

Vampires in Skyrim are for some reason set as Wolves in the game files, but no clue why, I only know it because of a werewolf mod that made me friends with wolves.... and seemingly vampires....

I LOVE Prowler's Profit! Of the last ten playthroughs, I only skipped getting it twice. One playthrough, I put a basket in my home and dropped in only the flawless gems. I had SO many, the gems were spilling out, and it was a BIG basket. Combine with the Merchant perk, and you'll never spend another gold piece again.
If I'll never spend gold again, why would I need prowlers profit?

The reason for Vampires being effected by the "Voice in the Sky" buff is because they are for some reason in the same faction as wolves.
Could have something to do with the Death Hounds, maybe?
Well, in the original "Dracula" novel, I recall Dracula being able to transform into a wolf and also control wolves. So maybe it's an allusion?

Fun Fact: Circle of Protection is also one of the best ways to train Restoration, you can cast it everywhere and anytime and it will always level up your restoration.

In Raven Rock, you can find a few potions of water walking, as a nod to that ability from previous games.
You forgot the best part of that first fact, the claw needed to open the door that dude had been stuck on was owned by the innkeeper the entire time, and he gives it to you for solving the mystery. Oh the irony.

@@nessesaryschoolthing lol I know that feeling. I usually make an arcane blacksmith ( Alchemy, Enchanting, Smithing, and Speech) as a female Imperial so I can take advantage of the Allure Perk for that bonus 10% discount. Happens a lot once you start selling Banish Daggers.
Imperial start is pretty strong economically, but eventually money perks become redundant. Having 10K coin without exploits/console at level 13 even after buying Breezehome and all its decorations without 100% looting (IE only taking a single trip through a dungeon for 300 pts of weight; which realistically drops to ~200 because of armour/consumable hoarding) means money isn't really ever a problem. Plus any speech/monies enchant buffs aren't worthwhile until you can unlock richer merchants because they just run out of money too fast.
The game just doesn't seem balanced around anything but "normal" play and even that's never been an issue once you get a home. They had to keep adding things to the end game for people to spend it on.

Between the usage of alchemy and/or enchanting to level up anything to level 100.
Speech is useful in the leveling of the Thief Tree Skillsets.
Once everything is level 100, purchase all properties and their upgrades, even more so, acquire a property such as the one in Falkreath, as well as, a spouse such as Yslonda in order to fully capitalize on the marriage aspect of the game.
Do not become a werewolf until end game because:
+20%EXP(ANY Guardian Stone)+15%EXP(Marriage: Lovers Comfort)+15%EXP( A.C.: Lover's Stone)
=50%EXP GAIN!
I don't know how, but I remember actually being able to see the effect of Prowler's Profit in my Active Effects list a couple years ago...
It was saying something like "You found more wealth in chest" or something..

Something useful about the merchant perk effecting npcs inventories is how if you want to get rid of a ‘stolen’ tag on an item, you can pickpocket it into their inventory and then just buy it back. You’re essentially paying them to remove the tag. [Not sure if it works on everything but… 🤷♂️]
Gods, nearly a decade later and I'm still learning things about Skyrim.
That explains why the vampires pretending to be vigilance didn’t attack me when I came back from the mountain. I always invest in speech, even for other games like Mass Effect (save Wrex).
Wrex is fairly easy to save.... Just go find his family armor and give it to him... He becomes a lot more willing to compromise. I have never lost him
DaMan Rando I always get his family armor*, but didn’t know charm or intimidation wasn’t required to save Wrex. Although I’ll still put points into it, I may test out the other dialogue next time I play
*I do everything I possibly can do before going to Virmire. Between Noveria and Virmire, I go to all the systems and do all side quests. I kill all (nine by my count) Thresher Maws (Nonuel has two). There is no after-gameplay in Mass Effect (Mass Effect 2 is another story), so I do it all

It makes you a sneak archer, and you get it after you receive your first bow.

Vampires are part of the a faction shared with wolves ingame (making them allies with eachother) and since you are made passive to wolves, this also applies to Vampires of the same faction

This is actually hard not to do imo because it is such a visually unique and pretty item who would not take it?
Here's something I found out. Windelius body doesn't turn to dust if you resurrect him (He's quite useful in early - mid game, he also didn't get those annoying zombie like sound). As long you didn't "lost" him you basically get your self extra companion.
It would've been hilarious if you entered the Ivarstead Inn after drinking the Philter, looking like a ghost, and Wilhelm did the Wilhelm scream.

I found it by accident. You need to find a breakable wall in High Hrothgar and use Virgins Rage shout after learning it by bringing 100 virgins to the grey beards. Use it at the wall, after that, the wall will break and there you’ll see a chest. However in order to open said chest, you’ll need to travel to White run and get rejected by Ysolda 500 consecutive times. There you should learn the spell Autistic Screech. Use it to boost your strength to 1000 and you’ll open the chest to find Potion of the Chad which will turn you to a Chad that will boost your Virginity loss by infinity this granting you an infinite supply of women waiting for you in real life
i already knew about the circle of protection loop, the voice of the sky perk and the prowler's profit perk. i DIDN'T know that the voice of the sky perk affected vampires too. i don't refresh it often enough to see that happen. but prowler's profit can net you some TRULY immense gains as you can use the gems you find as ingredients for the atronach forge, and use the rest for jewelry.
I wish we could learn potions after drinking them, in the case of one-time potions like Philter of Phantom. I also wish it did more.
Heck, or even (and even better imo) let us learn them by destroying them, like with enchantments. Call it "testing" or "research potion". Just use the alchemy station for double duty (again, like how enchantments work). Awesome idea, hope you don't mind me expounding on it 3 years later lol. Some modder, get on this! Lol
not to be mean or anything but the guy living in the dungeon had been there for a year (for clarification its the guy with the ghost elixir) if you talk to the nearby towns inn owner hell talk about him and mention him specifically by name and say that hes been missing for nearly a year. so no he has indeed not been there for a few weeks lol.
The prowlers profit effect is actually really good for leveling smithing since using gems can dramatically increase the value of jewelry

"No stone unturned" can be started as soon as you can find a stone of Barenziah. So potentially you can start the quest extremely early not late
But complete it pretty much late in the game
Prowler’s profit is balanced by the fact that there are no quest markers to find those unusual games. Without using mods or guides, it’s almost impossible to get them. In my multiple playthroughs, I never even bothered to complete the quest.

In my opinion Windelius did not get “grazy” because of the potion, he just was so obsessed to find the hidden ”treasure” inside the barrow and because he couldn’t figure out the puzzle he got paranoid and eventually lost his mind.

You can actually start the Stones of Barenziah quest immediately. If you get the 'unusual gem' from Balgruuf's room, then go to Vex to get it appraised, it kicks off the quest
I don't know if on the PS3 is different because i've only been playing pc Skyrim for about two years, but Voice of the Sky is good for 24 real life hours, not in game , meaning if you play 3h at the time, it will last you 8 gaming sessions. And if you kill an animal (not fish or insects) the effect is lost. At least it was like that. :|
If you're on a horse, the animals will attack the horse and become hostile to the player, making the effect disappear as well

For PC players the Prowler’s Profit effect not appearing in the effects list is fixed by the Unofficial Patches.
This is now my favourite thing on the internet and you are now my favourite UA-camr ever. I never knew of the circle of protection magicka absorption tidbit, I am now justified in going back to play skyrim in 2019
You forgot the fence perk, that renders the merchant perk and the Thieves Guild fences rather useless.
It's the other way around, thieves guild makes this perk useless, as it needs high investment in speech, and the merchant perk has completely different uses.
Merchant is a fantastic perk, I don't care who you are. And the Fence perk is mostly when you're too lazy to go to Thieves Guild fences. So you pay a vendor 500 Gold, permanently increase their gold (meaning more gold at any given encounter), and can now sell stolen items to the vendor and not have to go to a fence. It's a convenience factor.
@Hoàng Nguyên lock picking is easy when you resto loop up an enchanted ring that gives you 10,000+ lock picking... Even the hardest locks you don't even have to move the pick, just turn it open

If you have the Necromage perk it will more greatly restore your magicka, also it seems (atleast with my breton that has max spell absorption) when in effect you won’t take damage.
That crown is nuts. I ended up creating a gem room just so I could build a heap. Eventually my game crashed.
