I had the close cousin, the '73 Dodge Dart Sport, Electric Blue. The 225 Slant 6 went 350,000 miles until the torsion bars rusted out of the chassis. If it were a Southwest car I bet it would still be going!
This reminds me of my old 76 Valiant. The plain Duster was Chrysler's econo box. With it's slant 6 engine (which most came with) it was probably the cheapest mid sized car in 1973 unless you selected packages like the V8 Gold Duster or one of the jacked up V8 Scamps or even very rare Hemi engine versions. In it's basic slant 6 with poverty wheel covers the Duster is in no way collectible apart from the fact it brings back memories for us Boomers in our youth.
My 1st car was a 74 duster. Tan, 318 auto. 38k grandpa driven miles, and of course, at 18 years old, I beat on it and destroyed it. Really wish I didn't...
As the car pulls away, you can clearly see how the rear tires were closer together than the front tires. This was done at the factory so you can put wider tires in the back with no modifications, but the strange thing was that the car would leave FOUR tire tracks in the snow!! 😂
I had a 73 Scamp in California. I loved it.
BEAUTIFUL DUSTER
Add a lot of rust and I'd expect to see my buddy Kevin behind that wheel and it would be our Senior year of 1986.

Don't we all have a Gold Duster in our past?
