A few years back ive had the vietnamese and Cambodian version before too, only slight difference is they make theirs on the more sour lemony side and likes to eat it with steamed rice instead of sticky, hmong and mien version makes it spicy like lao too and sometimes with more hint of sweetness like Thai, everytime i go out and eat i be seeing alot of people ordering laab
Lao dish that was first introduced to the u.s. in thai restaurants. kind of like Applebee's an American restaurant serving tacos on their menu. Laap originates from lao cuisine.
hi u can just in a pan on low heat with no oil or nothing in the pan. add the rice dry (don't wash it) and shake the pan every now and then so it toasts evenly.
Mmmmmm the national dish of Laos Northeastern Thailand and Northern Thailand, dont forget the spicy papaya mangoes cucumbers and long beans etc my brotha lol 😁😄
At 2:48 you said the thinly-sliced onions will “cook”. I don’t see how tossing all cold ingredients with the just-fried chicken will “cook” the onions.
I love how I can hear the narrator smacking with savory as he describes how to make it.

If you want an extra dimension of herb flavor, add Vietnamese coriander (rau ram) and minced galanga.
