2 extra notes: - You may NOT swap your handheld weapon, otherwise you lose the rocket attached to your shield. - When switching to the shield you want the rocket attached to, you can choose a shield with something already attached to it, it will override the previous attached item.
You can actually drop the rocket weapon and freely use weapons without losing the glitch. When you pick the rocket weapon back up just make sure you unequip weapon you are using. Hopefully that makes sense
thats why the speedruns will be done on the fun patches :D mostly.. speedrun site has separate categories for pre 1.1.2 and post 1.1.2 but I suspect most runners care about pre 1.1.2

@@lukeshioshio All it really takes to get the game back into 1.0 legitimately, is to delete all the game data (both saves and update data) from your Switch, disconnect it from the internet completely so it can't redownload update, then insert the TOTK cartridge and now you can play on 1.0. Ditto for any other Switch game that got a physical release. //edit: Not to mention that emulators exist, and while they're usually a separate category, most of the games on consoles that can be emulated are actually allowed in speedrun community.
Shame it's not the most popular category because of how long it can be. Any% is just too boring for these games and has been the most popular categories for it.

I say the opposite. Now watching everyone just fly to the end of everything… Instead of actual strategy completing the game. I so badly wish people were into doing glitchless speedruns. Watching the great plateau & sky island followed up with a 2 minute trip skipping most of the end is horrible to me. I get that many people like this sort of thing as it makes the times lower at the end of the run, but there is something to respect about actual clever ways of completing areas of the game using the real mechanics that is much more impressive than endless ways of skipping things. If anyone knows of a channel or server that contains people running glitchless speedruns of other categories not jjst any%, please share! Thanks
I'm a big fan of the blessing shrines, because I like how the puzzles you need to do for them are in the overworld rather than in the shrine so they can have a lot more freedom in design. And I would agree, that one blessing shrine is one of my favorites too
I always appreciate the care you take to not spoil too much. These games have so much content, I don't wanna rush nor the story nor the interesting zones.
What about an “entanglement launch?” It sounds pretty cool, and the name makes sense. Edit: since I realise that also might be a bit long to say sometimes, you could call it an “e-launch” or something similar for short.
I like it but I’m concerned about the word “launch” since it’s more consecutive jumps than a launch, when compared to wind bombs and stasis launches which were definitely launches. I don’t really have a good suggestion, maybe a different word after “entanglement”, which would allow your shortened suggestion “e-xxxxx” as well :) maybe just “entanglement-jumps”

Smallant has a video that explains 3 or 4 ways to duplicate items and equipment on current patch
@@kiranaun9593 By simplicity, i Like more the method where you don't even need to shield hop, but just have enough height to open the glider (a simple step works) and "hold" the items. Doesn't even need to take items from specific spots from the menu so doesn't transmute the items.

This is huge for speedrunning! I am super excited to be working on speedrunning again! And I absolutely LOVE the given name by @LimCube for the "Wind Rocket". Entrancement Launch is pretty good as well, though I'll be referring to it as the "Wind Rocket" because it's short, simple, communicates the details of what it is all about quite well. I was really thinking of doing a no paraglider run after seeing kleric try and was mostly just gonna arrow smuggle jump but this seems more fun and faster.
You can dupe shields/bows/swords in 1.1.2, but it requires having a dream home. If you display the shield at the same time you would be shocked and drop it, it will both fly from Link's hands and also go onto the display stand, duping it. It's made easier using something like the Lightning Helm to prepare, pause, unequip the helm, unpause and mash A. This makes it pretty consistent. However it does seem that after duping something a few times, it stops working because it removes two of the thing from your inventory when you perform the glitch. When this happens you can just save and load to dupe some more.
I feel like Rocket Jump would be a good name for it, since it's it's "infinite" jumps so long as the rocket is there. Wind Rocket I would understand if the momentum from the rocket transferring into the paraglider, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't (or at least not anywhere near as effective as Wind Bomb)
A tip for any comment scrollers! As Limcube mentions you CAN hold the A button and mash B but to perform the glitch, however, you kinda need to claw-grip the right joycon/controller. Instead you can mash both A and B (by putting your thumb between both buttons) and the glitch will work the same, cheers!
This is perfect for shrines, I'd say much more than windbombs ever were. I watched your all shrines speedrun from a few weeks ago and there were still quite a few times the windbombs were inaccurate, difficult to get perfect, and would result in lost time. This though, this is incredible, because you have complete control over it and where you go, it looks super easy to flawlessly execute, and easy to recover from if a mistake is made.
I found what feels like a more consistent method to go from holding L and ZL to the shield menu. If you tap B and D-pad Left together, it should close the rune menu and open the shield menu without you having to mash the D-pad, then you can swap to the shield you want to entangle to. Still on 1.1.1, but I think it should still apply as long as fuse entanglement itself still works.
You can still dupe hylian shields by fusing it to a weapon, duping the weapon with the throw and load method and then break it apart in tarrey town. The only issue is that it's a bit slow for speedruns
Duplicating shields isn't hard on the new version. I got multiple hylian shields by fusing the hylian shield to a weapon, saving, throw the weapon but pause before it leaves your hand but still leaves your inventory, and load the save. You will have the hylian shield weapon either at your feat or in front of you. Then just pay 20 rupees to unfuse it.
I think future speedrunners could master the timing of the fuse entanglement glitch by working out the menu-open duration to a metronome, and having that in the background. It's already not that difficult, but if consistency is an issue, this would solve it.
Some notes, it's a little bit harder but you can totally easily dupe shields weapons bows and arrow fuseable materials in 1.2 you aren't locked out of that
You can still duplicate Hylian Shields along with anything you fuse to them with Rock Octorocks and it’s actually pretty easy. I have a ton of Hylian Shields and diamonds even on the new patch.
Oh I love this game for it's glitches. For BoTW I could only rarely get the windbomb timing right, but compared to that this is a cakewalk. I don't speedrun either game (except some replays that get a little faster than I expected,) but the sandbox value these kinds of glitches add is just wonderful.
Now i know for any% it is probably useless in the current version but in all shrines you can duplicate anything you can attach to a arrow thanks to the chasm in tobio's hollow meaning 5th sage first. And if i remember correctly you can attach the orbs to the arrows so duplex bows or triple shot bows or higher. So while it maybe slower there is a use for it in the longer categories, also if you need money there is a easy duplication glitch for that using sticks and meat ua-cam.com/video/RKsvliFBCV4/v-deo.html now before you beat the wind temple it is always snowing so it is easy to pull the trick off otherwise you can only do it at night and when the weather thingy says snowing all across the board and yes that one also works in 1.1.2 Now the meat duplication thing is worth noting because it is a easy way to make money and you only need a few zonite and autobuild to do it but it is important to have a lot of money if you are going to be duplicating a lot of stuff by fusing to items and breaking it apart in terry town, you know for the non fusible arrow stuff such as weapons and shields otherwise abusing the tobio's hollow loading zone is way better and gets more results for duplicating useful items.
Cool as this "rocket hopping" glitch is, i don't imagine this has much application for speedruns, since most speedruns don't interact with a rocket dispenser
We could not free fly in BOTW and I have hoped we could do it in totk, but we still cannot. Nintendo decided Link will never have the bird ability. Very sad.
I don’t know if this is a new glitch or not, but I picked up an item (i think it was a roasted nut or a berry) on the ground while spinning with a big sword. The hit box stayed out while the new item notification popped up and it shredded the white bokoblin’s health bar and shattered my weapon. I’m on the most current patch as of right now. I don’t know if it’s practical at all, but it was pretty cool completely and utterly executing a monster in 1 second.
Rockets are too out of the way to even fit on the current any% route. Also you need good shields which would mean finding either a Zonaite shield or the Hylian shield which the latter is in Hyrule Castle anyways.
I love the blessing shrines. I get the reward, quick and easy, then move on to do more fun stuff. I don't like shrines, they're not fun to me, so any short ones with minimal effort are great in my book.
"windrocket" doesnt seem to make much sense bc the reason for the name "windbomb" was the fact that the windbox from the first bomb would launch the second one into you, a better name would be entanglement rocket or quantum rocket, maybe even "wrocket jump" (wrong + rocket)
So was this patched in version 1.2.1 or is the timing just that tight? I tried this about 50 times and every single time I was either late or the rocket would just attach to my shield. Even when I would press LT early enough that the green particles don't appear by Link's back, when I would open the shield menu by pressing the D pad it would just show up as a rocket shield. Edit: well, I just realized that sorting UA-cam comments by most recent was a thing. It really sucks that this was patched out, I'd rather not have to factory reset my switch in order to do it but womp womp i guess
I'd call this glitch *"The Invisible Jet,"* it's descriptive and it works in that one Wonder Woman joke that writes itself... well, I don't know why an invisible jet is funny and a Batmobile isn't, but society has proven otherwise.

This is kind of off topic but is the zuggle glitch used to bring weapons into the eventide island style locations in totk all shrines run right now? I was messing around and it seems you can totally smuggle weapons across shrine loading zones that way in links hands
You can dupe weapons eith the hylian shield fused to it then break it down in tarry town to have s ton of hylian shields, also dupe ppwerful weapon ls like scimitar of the seven fused to silver lynel horn

I think it's a lot easier to perform Fuse Entanglement thingy if you stand as far away as you can from the rocket when using the Fuse rune.

Rockets are too out of the way to even fit on the current any% route. Also you need good shields which would mean finding either a Zonaite shield or the Hylian shield which the latter is in Hyrule Castle anyways.

You can dupe hylian shields fairly easily on 1.1.2 as well though, if you have either links house and a shock emitter, access to tarry town, or both

I love the blessing shrines. I get the reward, quick and easy, then move on to do more fun stuff. I don't like shrines, they're not fun to me, so any short ones with minimal effort are great in my book.

"windrocket" doesnt seem to make much sense bc the reason for the name "windbomb" was the fact that the windbox from the first bomb would launch the second one into you, a better name would be entanglement rocket or quantum rocket, maybe even "wrocket jump" (wrong + rocket)

So was this patched in version 1.2.1 or is the timing just that tight? I tried this about 50 times and every single time I was either late or the rocket would just attach to my shield. Even when I would press LT early enough that the green particles don't appear by Link's back, when I would open the shield menu by pressing the D pad it would just show up as a rocket shield.
Edit: well, I just realized that sorting UA-cam comments by most recent was a thing. It really sucks that this was patched out, I'd rather not have to factory reset my switch in order to do it but womp womp i guess
I like the name "rocket jump" since the animation looks a lot like the moon jump glitch to me.
I'd call it "entangled jumping" or "rocket jumping".
I'd call this glitch *"The Invisible Jet,"* it's descriptive and it works in that one Wonder Woman joke that writes itself... well, I don't know why an invisible jet is funny and a Batmobile isn't, but society has proven otherwise.
To explain this to casuals I'm saying the glitch isn't really flying and it's better described as "Falling with style except you're going up instead of down"

This is kind of off topic but is the zuggle glitch used to bring weapons into the eventide island style locations in totk all shrines run right now? I was messing around and it seems you can totally smuggle weapons across shrine loading zones that way in links hands

you can something similar with weapons and i think it's called pellison dupe, it probably works on zonai device too

You can dupe weapons eith the hylian shield fused to it then break it down in tarry town to have s ton of hylian shields, also dupe ppwerful weapon ls like scimitar of the seven fused to silver lynel horn

I hope they don’t patch this. I feel like there are certain glitches they know about but intentionally don’t patch for some reason, mainly things that aren’t too game breaking for a casual player

You can still dupe weapons/shields/bows very easily in 1.2 with the house + electric glitch or with the memory stack glitch
