i always wanted a new sea monster sea serpent is cool but what would have been cooler would be a big crab like the crab from moana
Hopefully one of the coming updates will be a nice and meaty Hunters Call update with new monsters/serpents and bounties for each!
If that comes, I'm sure there will be great themes accompanying them, and I can almost guarantee that you'll be covering them on your channel
that, coupled with an overhaul of fish would make me, a shameful PvE player, very happy in what little remains of my comfort zone.
Like order of souls voyages you could have to hunt down these monsters that would actually be pretty fun
That would be pretty cool actually. Maybe a system of voyages where you have to hunt certain monsters, and you have to sail to certain regions/use certain items in order to increase your chance of encountering them. Upon killing them and bringing proof that you killed them, you receive a reward.
I think they should add whaling as a hunters call mission, along with more passive sea creatures
Hopefully this is true cause we really need a new sea monster in the world to hunt us on our trips the Meg and kraken and getting abit old plus really easy to get rid of we need a challengeable monster

What about a super monster that targets ships with over x amount of gold on board? We don't want to scare away new players after all. It could even just target pirate legends or something.
I'd love to see a sea monster that is in the storm. The encounter would be rare, making it special ✨ Just thinking of chaotic waves while storming and there being a sea monster, it gives me chills
Giant eel perhaps? After all, the Pirate’s Life did add the eel ocean crawlers.
Taking on a beast in a storm, if it's not balanced correctly, would be immensely difficult imo

Reminds of a session me and my mate had when we were fighting off a skelly galleon and a kraken in the midst of a storm. Safe to say it was the most epic encounter Ive ever had in any game so far.
The hungering deep was the best experience I ever had on SOT. First time people actually worked together and didn't shoot on site. I remember logging on as soon as it came out and working out all of the clues with 5 other sloops, all sailing in formation island to island together. At the end we fought the meg (really under prepared) and he had sank all of our vessels but one. There was 10 of us on one sloop doing constant repairs (staying safe) and the 2 owners of the sloop were firing. It took about an hour but we finally killed it, everyone was ecstatic. We went back to merricks spot on shark bait cove, drunk a load of ale, spewed on each other and took victory pictures.I still have them. None of the other updates ever gave that same experience.
Still want an experience where a sea creature the size of a skyscraper attacks and the server gets more loot if they do things like repair other players ships or provide cover fire during the fight
Imagine how awesome it would be, you are diving for PVP and see a tease of this new Sea titan in the distance. Far enough to see, but not close enough to know what it is. the amount of free promo and hype on socials will be through the roof.

I always thought that sea monster hunting could be a dope expansion to the hunters call
THIS! Maybe they can give you like a map of where a sea monster was last spoted and they send you to kill it, for a bigger reward, but the beast is more agressive than usual

something of note (that i think phuzzybond pointed out in a stream a few weeks ago), one of the tunnels under k-9 had gotten significantly wider, implying that something was moving through there. maybe thats where the ancient's secret temple will be, and that underwater tunnel is where the creature will emerge from in a future adventure

This wouldn't really be an enemy you have to kill, but I would love a GIANT turtle that has an island on its back and goes around the map. They could also make it so you could harpon it to drag the ship along and make it not visible on the map so that people cant just go to it and when you stumble upon it, it is more of a special moment.
I always thought it'd be neat to trigger a sea creature fight by fishing. Would add an element of surprise to a feature most (myself not included 😂) find "dull".
Imagine at random you're fishing, once you catch a fish a much bigger hungrier creature emerges.
That alone may get folk to toss a bobber in the drink more often.
Well considering the various markings on various islands, there were apparently powerful animals at one point in the sea of thieves (unless they are actually representations of ancients like in the Brigsy stars adventure) from big boars to snakes to even crabs. While I can imagine the sea serpent being a sort of evolution of the snake as once revered as some sort of snake god, it would be fantastically interesting if we got more island bosses in the form of gigantic boars and crabs running around an island. Imagine a titanic crab bursting itself out of the sand before chasing you around the island at terrifying speeds, lobbing rocks at you before crab dancing atop the corpses of its defeated foes.
Rare devs also mentioned that the chest of fortune will change places every now and then, so maybe next season the chest won't be in fof anymore, but rather as a drop reward for killing the serpant! (If this serpant theory turns out to be true)
I hope so!! I’ve been trying every day for months to sell some fof chests but pvp sweats always show up. A random chance event without a marker in the clouds would be nice. I only have 12/30 sold
Waiiiiit....what if the hydra was what Merrick knew and the brotherhood was trying to get info on? They might be trying to release it into the Sea of Thieves to cause chaos.
Could have like corrupted ancient merfolk using giant sea turtles with platforms and set up like the ship decks with barnacled cannons ect, come out of the water to defend the summing of the hydra. Would be cool as a new world event. Once you go through waves of them the Hyrda is summoned for a final showdown like in the Veil quests, but more like a Hunter's call version.
I’ve always said we should get a “leviathan” to complete the “red green blue” colour trio for sea monsters
I would love to see an other version of the Megalodon or even the Kraken, that would looks like a reaper's heart version of them or even an artifact of legendary hunger. (You know since the reaper love to get their hands on some nice powerful stuff to control the sea, having their own meg to control, would be kinda a huge thing for them)

@@Choom89 Mermaid glitch? There’s a glitch where you can hear sunken players from their mermaid. It could also have been a sound playing in the background of something you forgot to turn off
After the release of the season 8 i was saying to myself that after the pvp dream the only thing i need in sot is some new sea monsters, some new boss fights on the seas because i feel like the seas are so calm. However i think adding some new monsters to the sea of thieves is unavoidable, question is which season it will happen.
I love the idea/concept of a Hydra in SoT, I think Rare would tease it in a upcoming adventure/trailer, but its so subtle that if hydra were to release, we would go back to that trailer and the hints would be obvious.

I’ve pitched ideas tor giant crustaceans with small “islands” on their backs, Giant Wreckerfish with a ringing fogbell in a shipwreck on his back, and a large stormfish.
That wreckerfish idea gave me chills!! Very cool
Moving ships is already a huge technical undertaking for the development team, moving islands would be even worse. I don't see this working. It would be really cool though
@@moddable6921 That’s the thing, it isn’t a “true island”, just like a sandbar about three rowboats across on the back on this crab with a tree and some bushes, maybe a cannon operated by a skeleton.

so much sea monster ideas, maybe some passive monsters, you get a rare chance to encounter a new island but its actually a giant turtle, middle of it there's a temple you would need to wake up the turtle in order to open it and get the treasures or massive amounts of supplies kinda like vault runs without the map searching.
or the scene were sinbad's crew took a rest of some deserted island to get some tree sap for the ship. and the woman while arguing with sinbad accidently woke the monster, the monster's eye is as big as them looking at them one by one and just decides to swim off, and then they use the titanic fish tied it with the ship to get to the edge of the world in less that a few days, your crew or just you would get sick, and throwup.
oh yeah edge of the world too,
also no one is talking about the ice region, its found among a flavor text when browsing artic pets.
wish they add some sort of encounter of a Man' o War it has 16 cannons 4 rows of cannons on top and on the middle of the ship it would be taller than a galleon the rewards would be the same as defeating a skeleton fleet without the hassle of retrieving them when you sunk one of them and the other is just getting free shots really annoying when your solo slooping.

The Sea is also a very scary experience for those who haven't sailed before. I believe the seas should have mysterious creatures, mirages, and unexplained sights to make the seas interesting. An example of this feeling is playing The Forest or, It's prequal, Sons of The Forest for the first time and seeing a mutant that seems to be cautious of your presence. Same thing in the sea's, minus the mutant stuff. A mysterious creature in the seas that rejects interaction to keep sailors speculating what it was they saw. I feel this would be super fun

Sea monsters are seriously my favourite content in Sea, getting to be a monster angler is as much my dream as plundering ships and I really, really hope we do get a hydra, serpents, and on-demand hunting soon. I’ll keep dreaming of hunting a Meg amongst a sea of shipwreck debris the Meg displaces as it swims
After reducing the difficulty of world events, I hope the sea monster is similar to an end game boss in difficulty. Would be cool to have something like a raid/dungeon boss in giant MMOs outside of Tall Tales.
I REALLY hope we can get a Giant Sea Serpent as a new Naval boss, like the Meg and Kraken!
Would love to see a sea hydra or leviathan for a new sea monster to fight! Hell, one of the mechanics could be a tidal wave that you would hide from inside the ship or get swept off, and would fill your ship with water a significant amount which would leave you having to pale, along with jet streams that puts holes into your ship or if shot horizontally over the ship could instantly knock out your sails. Just ideas~
If I had to decide what 'Sea Titan' they add, I always praised to my friends the idea of a giant bird- the first air-based boss! It gathers when the clouds are full and the sun is at its brightest; sunrise basically.
Imagine looking up and seeing the sunlight illuminate a giant, winged creature over the clouds, flapping them adrift before it strikes. It attacks by flying in and out of combat, slamming and clawing at the ship's hull and players.
But it's two 'special moves' are it flying past/over you with such velocity, a massive gust of wind spawns and propells your ship in whatever direction the bird flew over. The second would be it attaching its talons around the mast like a constrictor snake, tugging at it before completely ripping it downward.
Harpoons would be used to spear the bird when it's caught flying away, stabbing it in the wings and holding it in position to be fired upon. What do you guys think?

Imagine a world event that looks like a storm. As you approach, mounstruous sounds surroud you. The rain pours into your ship as you sail. A hellish scream fills the air and then, in front of your ship, it appears... A GIANT EFFING 3-HEADED SEA HYDRA. It would be amazing, and really cool if they balance it to get a FoF difficulty or more to make it a big threat with tons of loot. Rare said the chest of fortune will be moving with time. Maybe it'll end up into the Hydra's stomack.

I actually tweeted something similar to this, in a few of the underwater shrines and treasuries you can see Kraken skeletons, yes, BUT, a few of them, you can see Significantly larger and different bones from Kraken bones. Such as the bones at the Shrine of the Hungering Deep. At the entrance there is a massive rib cage but no Kraken skull that fits that size in sight. There are kraken bones, but the ribs are far larger. Maybe this is a hint that there is something terrifyingly giant lurking in the seas? Who knows, that would be pretty interesting to see
I would love a stationairy storm north-west of reapers hideout since its so open and the center being like a whirlpool where you fight a sea monster and its lackeys as they board (like how they board in potc)
I think a neat new titan would be a three headed sea turtle, when it surfaces, you gotta get shot onto it's back to attack certain points to cause it damage, while it's three heads try and take down any ships nearby; when the ships sink and you're on it's back, death means having to sail all the way back with your crew.
I remember I had a dream once playing the game, there was a giant sea serpent esc creature and it coiled around the boat to keep it immobile, and then lifted its head out the water and belched fire onto the ships deck, setting it ablaze. I woke up to be disappointed that it was a dream and not reality
i think it would be good for more big sea monsters in general. and have different ones have a chance to pop with around and/or while different events are active.
maybe have one that during a current event will attack ships near that island or islands adjacent to it.
as rn kraken and meg fights are a little too easy to avoid. just wait till you see an event in the sky and your safe.

Hunters call needs emissaries and you can get clues like merchant shipments to track down a fabled sea monster then kill it and return its parts to a representative. Then maybe you can also find a shipwreck, but I feel like that might be *too* similar to a merchant voyage
I want them to come up with something so big and ridiculously scary that just comes barely visible when you are in the open waters. It just glares at you for a few seconds and slowly vanish back into the darkness of the ocean.
No need to be battle focused or anything, just straight up jumpscare.
I think a sea serpent would be awesome mainly as a world event where you hit it but it wraps around and spins maybe making your ship be under water in a sense with a maelstrom and you hit it spinning with your cannon and you have to deal with some sirens and once the maelstrom goes away any water from your ship is gone and also it could have
Parts of wood with ocean crawlers that board your ship and you hit the serpent

But what I want is the shiny golden Moana crab.
It can scuttle back and forth in the shallow area on smuggler's Bay or crescent Isle.
They can throw rocks at the ship and when you beat it is a whole bunch of Treasury to pull off it's back

I always thought they would add a flying boss, like a dragon or phoenix (plunder valley). The north east seatpost says something about dragons, they have dragon sets, and when they added fire I was like 👀👀
A monster that moves with the storm or has a storm that forms around it would be absolutely insane. Or a creature that only hunts at night. I don’t know, I want something to be legitimately terrified in the seas. Kraken and Meg events are cool, but they don’t have that fear or dread in them except for when the sea turns black.
I would either want a giant land/sea hybrid crab type boss that you have to fight in the sea first before it scuttles away to the closest large island to fight on land. Or some sort of hydra boss that you have to deal enough damage to or else it regenerates its heads.
Rocks have been my greatest enemy in this game since I started playing.
I think it'd be great to have a new sea titan, but I'm also afraid it would be a giant crab with rocks on its back especially since one of the islands has paintings of a giant crab, simply because in that situation it wouldn't be me sailing blindly in the mist, it would be rocks holding my ship down and repeatedly punching it, and that seems like a role reversal that I don't want.
Going on your theory, with the full kitting out of the frostbite set leads me to think we might finally be getting a snow area.

I knew something was up with all these changes with the hunter's call: Bait Crate, Can sell fishes in any outpost, mermaid statues easier and dropping more gems. This is gonna be epic!

I rememver the days when something regarding a giant bird on Plunder Valley leaked, and then was never to be seen ever again. Even the rock at the top, before they put the lantern there, looked like a place for sacrifice to the bird.

Adding new sea titans sounds dope! Maybe some delving into greek myths like with Scylla and Charybdis could work for specific place on the map with some narrow passage?
That’s actually really dope! What if there was some kind of path to the sea of the damned and you had to fight them to get to there? It’d work for the lore and work for a challenging battle.
First time I encountered the Kraken in Sea of Thieves, I went from brave and adventurous, to panicking and nearly shitting myself out of fear 😅😂

A SEA DRAGON would be pretty cool. A more "eastern" monster would be a neat addition. A sea hydra would probably be similar to the kraken fight.

Creature 1: Jormungandr (Sea Serpent)
It will come in an update which also adds a new ship called the longboat and a new region north of the wilds called the frozen wastes. The sea serpent will only appear in storms and have lightning attacks.
Creature 2: Dragon
It will come in an update that has a ship called the Junk and a new asian inspired region. It will attack from the sky, breaking your mast and setting your boat on fire

I've been asking this since I played the game. It's so magic and cool expeirmveing a kraken or meg for the first time.
It would be nice if they had a few miniboss type sea monsters that are less rare than the main sea monsters and more life in the ocean, even if it all doesnt try to murder you

We could use another sea monster. I love it when I'm being chased and the instigators are thwarted by them. My favorite memory is of a reaper brigantine getting stopped in it's tracks by a kraken.

What I'd love to see in the future, is legendary hunter voyages, where youre sent after sea monsters by merrick to kill them, and a serpent enemy would perfectly fit the sea of the damned
Just imagine, you're sent into the sotd by portal, and you have to sail through the green fog, looking for remnants of shipwrecks who once contained failed crews attempting to seek out the serpent, if you manage to find all of the clues, and the serpent's location, once you sail there, there would be a couple moments of silence, you might spot a snake-like body slithering above the water for a second before it dives back down, then it erupts from the water with a deafening roar, starting the battle.

lets not ignore that the chest of fortunes gems are in the shape of a 3 leaf clover. (3 heads), normally if you were going to make something gold and valuable you would want a 4 leaf clover to mark it as lucky or emphasize its value, but they chose 3 leaves. kinda fitting if its foreshadowing a 3 headed dragon

I really hope next season or sometime soon they release a new sea monster. It would make a lot of sense and bring a fresh sea titan fight to the game. Anytime I go onto a comment section for content people want, I always see people saying a new sea monster
In my opinion instead of a black screen when you go into the shrouded ghost there should be a monster that pushes you back and brings you into a fight that you can’t physically win and it traps you until you sink or does something cool like pulls your ship under the water and eats you alive and sends your ship back somewhere
I think adding in a Mega sea Titan in the form of a World event would be interesting. I've always wanted to fight the Charybdis in this game. That would just be so much fun to be trapped in a giant whirpool fighting against a GIANT monster.

Omg , Hunter's call can totally be expanded by adding monster hunts. Sea serpents , giant crabs , etc. that'd be soooo cool. And yea I really hope megladons get some kinda update. They're cool but get very samey fast as all they can do is just bite your ship.
A hermit crab would be cool, a giant armoured boss that you’d have to shoot at its barnacles theatre attached to its body to crack its armour
