Back when attending Bumbershoot was not an option - it was a mandatory holiday weekend. This was a show I will never forget. We saw Alice In Chains and the Sreaming Trees, among many other bands that weekend. I would give anything to go back to the summer of rock freedom in Seattle 1990. One of the greatest times in my life. Thanks for posting this soothing video. Chris did a beautiful stage dive at the end of the show :)
What a time to have grown up in Seattle, blown away by Chris’s range. I think this show changed my life as it was the first time seeing them live. Was also fortunate to see MLB at number shoot in 89. Memories! Lol
Saw them for the first time earlier that year (February I think) at the MOORE theater. I went to Lollapalooza out at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds when they played with Pearl Jam and many other grest bands.
Thank you for uploading this I was never old enough to see Soundgarden live adn I'm really glad vids like this exist so I can see what they were like live
The Posies opened. Not sure my feet ever touched the floor during Soundgarden. It was an unending tidal wave of human flesh and sweat. Pot smoke everywhere, naked people, it was .... beautiful.
I was at this show, Soundgarden was filling in for another band that cancelled at the last minute (Echo and the Bunnymen or Camper Van Beethoven?). It was cool to see them in such a big venue, it was one of the first times they had ever played a big stage.
Yup, that hit me too. Chris was fucking fearless then. Not just for whether his voice could sustain after that, but opening with this behemoth of a crowd-favorite. Lesser men would surely have worried they'd blown their load prematurely. RIP, you glorious creature. 💔 edit: fixed redundancy because I'm not really illiterate or high I swear
I remember my brother had a bootleg CD of this concert back in 1994. I listened to it spool much. I always preferred bootleg recording to officially released live albums, a lot of which are too overdubbed in the studio before release. Bootlegs are literally "warts n all".
thank you for this, to find long videos of soundgarden back in the 89's and nineties is a rare diamond
thank you for this
I was there! Was like 14, got clobbered by a stage diver in the mosh pit 😆

A few of Young Chris Cornell's (aged 26 in 1990) high notes:
G5: 38:50 (Ugly Truth)
G♯5: 29:49 (Full on Kevin's Mom)
Which song is this?
38:38, 38:29
The Posies opened. Not sure my feet ever touched the floor during Soundgarden. It was an unending tidal wave of human flesh and sweat. Pot smoke everywhere, naked people, it was .... beautiful.
Parker Lundgren N Posies ashes
This is gold!! Thanks for the upload!!
My Dark Prince
This might be the peak Chris Cornell as far as his power and range goes. He is just unreal on this. Ungodly even.
So visceral. Love it.
Amazing video! Absolute treasure, thanx a lot!
I was at this show. $3. I was soooo high on acid.

They replaced Psychedelic Furs 👍
@@TheBrettWilson That sounds right!
Did they open with Beyond the Wheel? That’s absolutely insane from a vocal standpoint wtf
