That dog picking and eating his own carrot was my favorite thing ever. He’s the best!
Sleepy Bear Permaculture - And did you notice that he wasn't a slob about it? He very carefully pulled up only one carrot, and carried it away before he started eating! I loved that, too.!
I KNOW! Tuuuck
Tuck is so smart
was adorable :)
Same here!!!
It really makes my heart soar to see such a young man with so much knowledge loving what he does growing God's vegetables and teaching people that don't understand how to get started but he seems to be able to relay that very well keep on growing God will bless you for everybody you're feeding the World by teaching people also having TUC as his partner is something that is very very cute and amusing he is definitely the Same Spirit as his owner

😍 „Oh, looks like we got, uh, monkey seeds planted here?“ Haha, you had me wondering for a moment what kind of plant that was 😅 Tuck is the sweetest!
I was having a hard time understanding that too. Tuck is a charmer.
Took me a second, too - LOL!
Who are the people giving this the thumbs down? Good honest advice tried and tested..... what on earth are thumbs down people even doing on this site?

I am SO grateful for your excited, positive attitude, and especially the spiritual element of gardening you share - my little 4 year old boy Theo and I watch your videos every night - it is such a blessing to learn gardening with you and watch Tuck be so adorable! Thank you for letting your light shine!
What a good mama to watch gardening shows with your little one :)
People always ask me "what do you feed your plants!" I just mulch with wood chips and leaves. My soil was clay on one side and sandy loam on the other and both eat wood chips and a good 6" of leaf mulch twice a year, I rake up a few neighbours oak leaves so it doesn't cost me.
I add some dry sand into the package with the seeds. Scattered same way and it thin out the seeds so it's not too thick .hey, this works for me..
Why no videos from James for months?
Brilliant!
Seed talk is always good~ it gets us gardeners through the winter!
Sounds good Zavia! And I completely agree 💯
Definitely! Just received my seed lists from the merchants. Nothing beats choosing next year's crops during the cold days of winter!
I love watching Tuck dig, pick, harvest his own snacks. He's a cutie. Thank you for producing your videos. I have learned a lot from watching. I am starting my own food forest. I'm having a truckload of wood chips delivered early in the spring.
seems tuck has learned alot aswell
Jean OConnor Hello! Your message from 9 mo ago says you are starting your own food forest, I am curious...How is it going!?
You'll find you probably need to add nitrogen to the soil the first few years. Hope this helps you!
🤠Inquiring minds want to know Jean O’Connor- how’s it going? What can you share with us?
Anna Bee Jones We found out that the area where we started the food forest belongs to our new neighbors. We have since then started planting fruit trees and berry bushes on a part of our property that we are sure is ours but it needs wood chips.
How adorable, I love how you let your dog pull and eat a carrot! Now that's love 🥰
The best part of this video is the Puppy harvesting a carrot......Adorable!!!

I love Tuck. 💕. So cute that he planted the monkey. So adorable. 🌷🌷🌷
I’m just cracking up over Tuck planting a “Monkey” seed! I didn’t see what it was when you said monkey seed. I said to myself “What’s a monkey seed?” And then you pulled the monkey outta the ground! Too funny!
The first year I grew cherry bell radishes, just because I liked how the flowers looked, I didnt pick them and let them grow. To my surprise, they grew pea pods. So tasty. I like the pods better than the radishes.
I think the radish seeds pods are a new 'thing'. In the last year I've seen a lot of recipes for them. I've never tried them, so I'm interested to hear that you liked them better than the radishes.
I assume you ate them when they were still green then? I may have to try this!
@@joykaluf2629 yep!
I never heard of radish seed pods! I guess they grow if you leave some plants alone to flower and grow past 1 month. I am growing Early Scarlet Globe Radishes for 1st time and will have to try this! I bought my radish packs at Dollar Tree for 4 packs for $1 and almost every planted seed sprouted!

Aww Tuck, James will leave some 🥕 carrots for you too!!🐶 😀 At the beginning.
Hi James,
I just started watching your videos a month ago! Very informative and entertaining-- I have learned a lot from you. I had a garden helper too, (my Corgi, who sadly passed away last summer). I called her my "garden inspector," with a special interest in sugar snap peas. She is greatly missed.
I have a different method fot germinating carrot seeds. I live in Palmer, Alaska, home of world record giant vegetables, fertile glacial soil and land of the midnight sun. The extra long days impart a special sweetness to carrots and many other vegetables.
Because our climate is semi-arid, we have to be extra careful about keeping seeds from drying out, especially carrot seeds. I have had success covering my newly planted and watered carrot seeds tightly with plastic, stapling it tight to my raised beds. Not only does this encouage seedlings to sprout twice as fast, it keeps moose from trodding through it, as well! (They love walking through freshly dug soil.) As soon as most of the carrots have sprouted, I remove the plastic and put stakes around, again, to discourage moose. Last fall I harvested 300 (mostly enormous) carrots from four 2 × 6 raised beds!
Yes James, I'm with you brother! this is the Best community! We are the ones that can save this planet! Carbon sequestering and solar conversion! Keep the positive vibes flowing! Love your channel!
My, at the time, 8 month old Mastiff puppy (158 lbs at the time) got into my beds. He dug up and ate the remaining carrots.
:-D
So nice seeing youth care about what's important!
You are very interesting. Lots of good information in small amount of time. Love seeing Tuck harvest his own 🥕 carrots.😆
I wish all of these new supposedly mother Earth younger folks would learn to garden for the future. They will need to know these secrets to survive before long. The food supply will dwindle and they'll need to grow their own. 😁

In Canada we have Seeds of Diversity where lay people from all over the country save seeds and offer them up to other members; all heritage and heirloom varieties most not found in stores. I Love that Tuck picks his own carrots. I've got a Husky that picks and eats my tomatoes, she only picks the ripe ones. Last year I had four sweetie pepper plants that I was allowing the peppers to mature on, one morning I walked out onto my deck to find a perfect pile of peppers. The little Angel had picked ALL of my sweetie peppers that were ripe and left them in a perfect pile for me. ( I wanted to strangle the darling). Which is amazing cuz she loves peppers but she didn't eat them until I said she could. Anyway, maybe she knew better than I that they were ripe. You've got a great gardening buddy there in tuck. Good luck.

No probs. Love the videos by the way. You've taught me so much and lead me to many useful information from all your references.
I'm not sure if you mentioned it & I missed it, but how long do you keep the board on top of the carrot seeds? Also, I would love to go on a virtual seed-selection tour! Thanks so much :)
I mentioned it in the video where I showed how I planted them with the board, I linked it in the description. But I suggest checking after about 4 days or so, and continuing to do so every day after that. You want to take the board off once you see some popping up, cause once you see a few up they should all be germinated and the others just about to wake up 😁
@@jamesprigioni Thanks for the clarification. I'm still confused about how it works with raddish interplanted. Wouldn't they germinate much faster and then be blocked by the board?

Me too. I have tried so many different ways to plant carrots. Last season was a success, but very labor intensive.
Better late then never though I hope 😁❤️
I've wasted so much carrot seeds, over the years, all because I didn't know "the trick" and watering properly and the board. Man!
@@MinkesMom I used James' technique this fall. Literally, all I did, was remove my leaves to create a garden soil row, made sure the soil was flat, sprinkled my carrot seed ON TOP of the soil, used a watering can to soak the seed into the soil, covered the row with a board, left it alone for about 5 days, carrots starting coming up. That easy. I've still got carrots for the winter, out in my garden.
It's not late!
