Well done, Claire. Sorry that I wasn't more definite about the distance to Horton! For that section, it's always the climb that gets me, not the distance.
Wow Claire I'm wondering if you had a bug of some sort as you didn't feel particularly well at the start? That said, what an amazing gutsy achievement healthy or otherwise. Comparison is the thief of joy as you said but I totally understand ....I call it imposter syndrome when I line up with real "athletes" too! It's really a weird mindset because as you see everyone in the Ultra world is just kind and lovely.....nobody is judging us in a negative way. Also your "believe in yourself woman" is likely more of you just being a lovely humble human being! I'm so proud of you and putting all those low points on a video takes a bit of courage too. I definitely appreciate hearing your thoughts when things are toughest. Big Ultra hugs from Canada! I really enjoy your videos and think you're inspiring!
Aww thank you so much! I like to show the low points to show others that it's not always easy and it's OK to struggle, and there's no shame in being a back of the pack runner or a DNF. Hopefully it will inspire others who feel like they're 'not good enough' to toe the start line! Thank you for watching (and the virtual hugs!)
Great watch CK and I am sure that you won’t ever doubt yourself again. That must have been very tough mentally to complete but to get thru it then be ill later shows how strong you really are. A fabulous effort 👏👏😩
Thank you - I 100% will still doubt myself in every event I do 😆. But I will try and have a bit more faith in myself! It's certainly made me see what I'm capable of when I'm not feeling 100%, so who knows what I'm capable of when I'm firing on all cylinders?
Great video and top effort, especially with nutrition woes. Good to briefly meet you on course and before setting off home. Will probably meet you at another Rangers Ultras event! X
Your one tough cookie Claire, love your ethos and just getting it done. Can you make a video where this 53 year old man doesn't cry, im losing any credibility ive got left. Great job once again and hope you recovered ok.
Fantastic effort! I've had a couple of episodes where I've fainted and had sudden stomach issues after intense exercise. Had to go in an ambulance the first time. Hopefully you're all good now 👍🏻
The conditions made it tougher for me - tougher day out mentally in the sense that there wasn't anyone to chat to - surprising how quickly the miles pass when you're chatting! And it's 3 very sharp climbs and descents. It felt harder at the time!
Amazing, I love your content and will be there myself. 100km is more appealing this year with the earlier start and it being September rather than October. And you have soooo many miles under your belt this year! Will be delighted if I get to say hi at Hawes 😊
Hi Thank for documenting your journey. Did you finish last? Iam considering doing a winter trail marathon in January,it would be My first,I will be 61yr and started running last year. I have doubts at making cut off time,6.5hrs,your persistence pushes me to commit to this marathon.
Hi, I think I finished 5th from the last in the end, but I was well within the cut off which is all I was concerned about really. You should definitely go for it - you only know what you're capable of once you're doing it. I have surprised myself so many times. Thank you for watching.
Blimey Claire, there's "digging in" and "digging deep"! Chapeau, excellent result :-)
Thank you! It's definitely taught me that if I can get through that the way I was feeling, then I can get through (almost) anything!
Your amazing Claire! You have a great attitude. Keep smiling xx
Well done completing this when you weren’t feeling so good. Great achievement ❤❤❤
Thank you 😊
Watching this for the third time today. Each time I feel your pain.
Despite running it last October it's making me want to enter this year's event.
Do it! I want to do it again this year, and maybe try for the 100km. It's slightly earlier in the year so the weather should be kinder to us...
@@runningbritain a few more hours of daylight would be nice. Not sure I'll ever be up for the 100km
Well done, Claire. Sorry that I wasn't more definite about the distance to Horton! For that section, it's always the climb that gets me, not the distance.
It was a decent guess to be honest- I soon forgot about the miles!

Very well done Claire showing great mental strength only ever compare yourself with the person you were yesterday.
Thank you 😊

Great to meet you too - I'm sure we'll cross paths again in the near future x
Good effort. You done really well

Aww thank you 😊. I didn't actually cry myself this time which is usually what sets people off! Will try harder next time 😂
Fantastic effort! I've had a couple of episodes where I've fainted and had sudden stomach issues after intense exercise. Had to go in an ambulance the first time. Hopefully you're all good now 👍🏻
I feel OK now - at least I know what to expect if it happens again - it was scary, but I was very well looked after!
Hope you’re fully recovered now Claire. Well done on an immense achievement. Really enjoyed your video. Awesome 🙌🏻
Well done Claire! What a great effort. Hope you recover nicely, ready for your next adventure !
Great effort. These things happen. Best wishes.
Excellent job Claire, very well done! I hope your recovery went well 🙂
Slower than usual, but all good now, thank you for watching 😊
Very well done, shame the day finished as it did, but fantastic achievement again 👍
Thank you! Yes a bit of a shocker how it ended but hopefully it will make me better prepared for the next one!
@@runningbritain your resilience is impressive Claire, you're made of strong stuff! Look forward to your future adventures 😊
Amazing effort.
Well done! Hope you feel better and recover fully ❤
Thank you! I feel much better now - on to the next one! 😅
Well done Claire for turning your issues around. well done on your completion. Is it really tougher than the Lakeland 50?

Love this video Claire, just rewatched it, fancy doing it again this year?
I'm hoping to do it again, may even attempt the 100km if I fare better this time!
Amazing, I love your content and will be there myself. 100km is more appealing this year with the earlier start and it being September rather than October. And you have soooo many miles under your belt this year! Will be delighted if I get to say hi at Hawes 😊

Well done Claire, hope you have fully recovered from you adventure.
