MONTANE LAKELAND 50 RACE | ULTRA RUNNING RACES 2022
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 лис 2024
- This has to be one of my most enjoyable ultra running races 2022. I have been recovering from a hamstring injury so my plan was to complete the 50 mile ultra race around the stunning Lake District.
What I didnt know was how popular this ultra running races 2022 is and what an amazing community the Lakeland Series races has built up over the years.
As I say in the running vlog this is the perfect race for entry level runners to gain mountain ultra race experience. A stepping stone to the next level. Its been a tough year for my ultra running races 2022 so this was definitely needed.

What a race what a day - loved editing this - it took a while so sorry about the timeline at the beginning - hope you enjoy and it gives you the motivation to try a race in the Lakes!
Some reason this popped up as a recommended. I actually did so the 50 in 2022. I was well behind as it was about 10pm when I was going through Ambleside!
Loved this. What a race. What a video.
Thanks 😊
Epic event, Epic filming and editing. Thanks for taking the time to do this. Much respect. Congrats on completing a other great event.
Thanks Shaun - got another on the go as just done the CW50 - thank for supporting - really appreciate it and always good to get some much needed kudos! ✊
This video was well worth waiting for mate! Truly epic! Added this one to the bucket list for sure. Huge kudos to you and Luigi and top work for getting the map out! 😎🤘
Thanks Ben. Finally got it done. Callum is doing the 50. Def an iconic race to do. I like a good map 😂😂
Fantastic effort. Well done.
Thanks 🙏
Loved it! Great effort and video! I’m entered to the L100 next year so training begins soon! Can’t wait. Thanks for sharing, well done Adam.
Awesome stuff. I’d like to do the 100. The support is so good around the course. Loads of motivation - train strong 💪
Well done mate great video nice to see the route 🙌
Thanks 🙏
Excellent video. Good effort…..well done 👍🍷
Thank you 🙏
Always love watching a Lakeland 100 - 50 video. This is a good one thank you.
Thanks mick - took a while but I enjoyed revisiting the weekend - better weather next time 🤞
Loved watching this - really want to get into ultra running next year!
Thanks - ultra running is 😎
Great video, really caught the event end-to-end. Good mate of mine at 9:20. Although…..collapsible cup 😲🤣
Thanks - glad I caught your mate on camera! Yes the cup - quite rigid when open 😂😂
I enjoyed this video and super well done on finishing it. It's nice to see this route in daylight....well most of it. You also did the right thing and just enjoyed the scenery and the event instead of going flat out. Last year i finished the 100 but this year i had to stop at 50 miles of the 100 i was doing due to injury. Not too upset about that and these things happen but i am doing it again to make things right next year. Loved how you showed the epic checkpoints. They are world class. Keep up with the great videos. You have a great talent and respect for the sport.
Thanks Andy - ur lucky to get in the race again as it’s a ballot. Yup some days aren’t for pushing and was a bit fearful about my hammy. But it behaved. My wish is to have more time in the mountains to train but I don’t think with life that will ever be. I going to really try this year to Recce UTS and do a shit load of leg strength work. Should see us right. Thanks for all your support. Lakeland was a great weekend!
@@ultrarunneradam Yes, i think recceing is well and truly needed in Snowdonia for the UTS. Something which is a problem for me finishing the ARC. Yes i could see your buckle. Very Jealous. lol. Living so far away from Cornwall i have only been twice and failed the ARC both times. I am doing the ARC 50 in Jan just so i know the rest of the route that i have not seen yet and then the plan is the ARC100 for 2024. Just seen your vid for A100. I'm dong it again in 4 weeks time. I don't mind it that race that much. It all depends on how the weather is. Love all the Centurion runs but currently missing a qualifier for WSER|100. So i need to finish this one again. Hope the hamstring gets better. This year has sucked for injury's and i hope we both make a fast recovery.
Yup I need a qualifier for WSER next year as Arc got me that this year. Hoping for laveredo but that’s a ballot. Tricky so then maybe Endurance trail templiers as that’s not a ballot and in October. Need a PA!
@@ultrarunneradam you would love WSER. Words fail me how magical the place is. I can't wait to get back again. Good luck in the ballot. I think I'm on 8 tickets this year....all depends on A100. No sweat 😅😆
Congratulations on a great finish, you seemed to embrace the race and had a chance to take it all in and enjoy it. Thanks for the content always a joy!
Thanks @expatadventureturkey! Looking back at the race it was a a great day even though it rained most of it!
Brilliant as usual Adam 👍
Thanks Neil 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Great little race Vlog Adam. Looked strong mate and glad the hammie held up.
Thanks Craig 👍
What a cool race and well done completing 50 miles! That's no short distance! Looks like you had a great time.
The race as a blast. Forgot to edit in the pizza order when I ran through Ambleside 😂😂
Well done Adam...it looked like another epic adventure!
Yes nice race 👍👍👍
Well done 👏🏻
Thanks 🙏 😀
Great video enjoyed it 👍🏼
Really tempted to give this a go how easy is the route to follow, is it way marked or do you need to have some knowledge of map reading?
Really easy to follow ! Loads of runners to follow
Hi Adam
Great video, loved your prievious MDS videos and the kit vids were a great help for the race this year.
I am entered into the lakeland 50 next year, wondering if you have any shoe advice? I have not completed any fell type races before.
Thanks in advance
Weather depending - a shoe that can handle rocks, gravel, wet grass, mud and tarmac all in one. I run in Hoka Speedgoats as they cover all that and have cushioning for the ultra. That’s my preference. Might not be good for you but that personal. Glad the vids help and thanks for all the support!
In your opinion is it possible to do the lakeland 50 without doing any recce of the course and just by putting the route on your watch ?
Absolutely. Easy route and loads of people. Simples 😅😅😅 unless your going for first place 🥇
Another great video, Adam!
I've been lucky enough to get a place in the ballot for next year.
I've asked a friend of mine who's done both the 50 and the 100 about poles- he said he wouldn't bother with them if he did the 50 again. Do you agree?
Glad you enjoyed the day and we'll done!
Looking forward to future content and following along, as always
Thanks for following - much appreciated. No poles for the 50 as the the elevation isn’t that harsh. Not sure about the 100. Poles for hard alps races Def. I ran first part of UTS with poles but noticed fast runners not using them as technical climbs where you need yours hands. So may not use them. Hope that helps.
@@ultrarunneradam cheers Adam, great help.
I'm also doing UTS, but I'm doing the 50k, I'm not as hardcore as you doing the 165k!!
Keep the content coming!
@@ashleyholbrook9396 it’s all hardcore out there 🏔💪
Great video Adam, any reason why your tracker kept changing from right shoulder to left shoulder? It’s not great for my OCD 🤪😂😂
You viewers! 🙄😂 it’s a flip on edit so I always run left to right - that’s my ocd 🫠😂😂
@@ultrarunneradam it’s “us viewers” that have to watch it 😜😂😂 I knew it was a flip but didn’t know why, makes sense in fairness 🤓 keep up the great work 👍🏻😎
Great video, I'm doing this race next year. How did you find the navigation? Was the route clear, or would i benefit from satnav of some sort?
Thanks 🙏 you’ll need a gpx file on your watch or use the map. So many people you can follow on the 50 but there were v occasionally moments I was on my own so needed nav - good luck with the race
Fantastic video, it brings back some amazing memories for me....especially since I run past you on the bit before Haweswater. I vaguely remember that.
How did you ever go back on the course after reaching the disco aid station... You should just have DNF'd at that point😂
Yes should have! Perfect excuse no one could argue with 🤣🤣🤣🤣
