@sparky Tuttle Watching these videos about being homeless in Skid Row and other places. What people often forget about the homeless residents is the fact that stereotypes aside, seniors and disabled people are the fastest growing demographic for becoming homeless !!

@sparky Tuttle Hi. Yes, affordable housing would change the entire situation, and end homelessness as we know it. The crooks belong in jail, if they won't change, and good facilities that are residential are needed for the mental patients. Corruption keeps this from being done though. And I see new homeless people just starting out as such, every day. They look so bewildered and trapped, scared !

There are lots of stories of how people ended up on the streets. For some its mental illness others its the inability to keep up with the cost of living or find basic employment. I like these personal stories that German in Venice shows on his channel. The other one to check out is Invisible people. Its sad as many of these people have been left behind by society or friends or loved ones and ended up on the street. Its good that he can stay clean while living on the streets because that isn't an easy to do when living around substance abuse on a regular basis.

I like the way that they got all those homeless people and their tents off the streets surrounding the Dolby Theater, so that none of the Hollywood stars would have to see any of them on their way to or from the venue. And I especially loved hearing them tell us how much they *really and truly* cared about the people that were swept out of their way so as not to inconvenience them. Nobody can virtue signal better than a Hollywood star. I got all choked up just listening to them.

Sadly, my bio dad died on Skid Row. I hadn't seen him since the 1980's (he chose to stay away due to his drug dependency), my oldest sister knew where he was, but she never told me. Sad thing was I would have checked in on him if I had known since I lived the closest of the three of us girls. My aunt (his surviving sister) could have contacted me, but NOOOOO! Everyone let him stay on the streets. He died in 2000 and I only found out in 2016. The streets are no joke.

Fantastic stuff German, you are not exploiting homeless people, anyone who says so is clueless, the local news does not do it. Everyone does not show attention to the homeless problem like many youtubes do. It's a serious damn problem, people are not supposed to live on the streets, in parks, in RVs on streets, and every where else. It's a national tragdey. The cost of living in the country is insane rents 20 years ago in LA and surrounding cities were like 650, 750, 850 for a one or two bedroom, you can't find those rent rates any more out in California. It's gone up everywhere, but I will say there are homeless who genuinely want help to get off the streets and I think all those folks should be sought out first and get them off the streets, the others are going to be much tougher to return to society due to drug addiction, mental illness, and other issues. Keep the vids coming German

Yes, I would have liked to hear his answer to that question. He obviously has a relationship with them, but perhaps they are in similarly precarious living situations since it sounds like he can’t live with them. He uses Covid as reason to why he’s not near them, but he has been homeless in LA for years, not just since Covid.
He’s the first person GIV has interviewed that didn’t seem bonkers. He’s just a decent person who’s had a lot of hard times. I hope the hotel room helps him and he gets into the facility near his family.
