This is a follow up video from last week were all the homeless we’re setting up camps on the sidewalk a couple days ago the city told them to move and now the area is all fenced off I’m trying to find out the reason why it’s fenced off
LA makes it almost desirable to be homeless, thats the problem.
Real estate is the problem Florida is headed right down that path soon in 2 years when we select a new governor.
Yeah they do, fucking hotel vouchers till January just because they decided a specific sidewalk was their homes smh
Exactly
it's the west coast, blame the governors & mayors and the dummies that elect them.
It's the weather. Not all the city. I lived in mn forn 20 years and I literally couldn't wrap my mind around how a homeless person would survive through the winter. I lived in a luxury apartment it was still freezing inside. I always toldyselfnif I ever fucked up enough to be homeless I'd go str8 to cali so I don't die in winters.
He hit it on the head with “there are a lot of services here”, which means, all you taxpayers, your funding state sponsored homelessness.
It sucks and it's not fair
Enabling the homeless crisis way to go Democrats.
Most of that money gets squandered by our State officials and representative like Nancy Pelosi
Try being homeless and staying clean , you CANT because you are one against the World driving by you in the fast lane

He just sounded lazy

He's gentrifying homelessness, never thought I'd see that happen.
Exactly
Too funny!
Go to a park in Boulder during the summer. Gentrified homeless is a lifestyle there for the ‘rebel’ hipsters.
lool!
Gentrification is where people with money move into a blighted neighborhood and improve it. I think this is the opposite
"To be honest, a lot of people are from other states."
A self-professed homeless person actually acknowledging the truth.
Homeless people want to be in warm conditions all year around.
Homeless dont want to die in winter weather. Some who are smart work small jobs and save up to get rent through the winter months. Lots of cities have bought homeless bus tickets to simply ship the problem to someone elses city. Often they get to Cali and get stuck because theres no way back home
If I were homeless 1st thing I would do is move to a warm climate.
dont forget, CA government gives a free hand out.
California, home of the homeless!
I'm one of the neighbors that can see this particular encampment from my home and I must say I'm absolutely relieved to see the fences go up. This man has definitely shed some light on the truth of homelessness which is very nice to see. His advocacy will take him far, I'm sure. However, I'm ready to feel safe in my neighborhood again. My husband has had to tell multiple individuals to leave our lawn or back alley space. We've seen too much poo and trash dumpage near our home. We want our hard earned neighborhood back!
You both have really good points! I don't blame you a bit for your resentment of these disrespectful freeloaders
So it’s been a year, are the homeless people still gone?
@@JC111WPB Yes, the fences along the golf course are still up and there are no homeless in this area.
Homelessness individuals are like'n to 'Spiritually Enlightened Native Americans' whom migrated on an annual basis allowing the land to regenerate. 😇
I am a caregiver and take care of the elderly in an assisted living facility...a robot can never replace me
so true..been there done that it's a job that is hard physically , mentally, and emotionally...keep up the good work and don't forget to take care of yourself too.
I bet you'd be surprised with what they'll come out with in the future.
I'm sure they can but what they can't do is the human contact we give them and that we show we care about them and just talking to them.....most of the time they go months without seeing any family if they see them at all... I took care of 20 people and only one person had a family member that came on a regular basis. two more had family that came by every few months or so. it's hard to see. they loved me. why? because I was the person who made them smile and joked with them and gave them a hug. so yea they could get a robot to do the job but they need human contact someone to show they matter still. and that what a robot can't do because it's not another human showing they care.
Yeah age care is a growing industry in Australia too but it isn't really a desirable job nor pays that well.
Sure it can when they kill off all the elderly like Cuomo did. Jobless by attrition.
This man is a professional excuse creator. Stop with the victim mentality
I don’t see him making excuses. This seems like a deliberate lifestyle choice for him.
I am frankly impressed with his manner. I support unionizing the homeless LOL 😂. He could run the Dumpsters union

A lot of people do there. Nice weather. Can have property at the beach and do nothing but surf and get enough money to eat and drink. For some that is paradise... at least until they get sick or stabbed and die.
Gosh that homeless guy is smart in theory but not in execution. Homeless can’t peacefully coexist with homeowners especially not in a wealthy neighborhood. The idea of community is nice but maybe in the middle of nowhere instead of in a civilized community.
You are absolutely correct. It is impossible for greedy people to peacefully exist.
People who believe in ownership will be shown the error of their delusions on the day they die.
If your community is so 'civil' then how exactly do so many people end up on the violent end of a COP?
Involuntary in-group competition is what passes for 'civil'!? This truly is 1984.
They should let people live in tiny houses in designated areas that would help the situation
As soon as the guy said “A.I” I immediately rolled my eyes and disregarded everything he said.

Mysteriously, dude I know you're homeless but I'm sure even you have heard of the Covid pandemic.? Meaning people aren't taking vacations, leaving hotels and motels mostly vacant, which the city is just using that to get some of you off the streets for a bit to maybe make a change. But since I believe the problem is more mental and not having the will to work like most people, the stay in a hotel or motel is basically just a vacation for these people who don't want to be responsible.
It got fenced off because it's a health and safety hazard.

Hi jump from automation to homelessness was epic LOL. He completely removed free will from the logic
People don't move forward with the technology, they look at what they want to "I.A/Automation, {A.I is automation, we don't have self thinking programing machines} Jobs will be created with programmed robots needing to be built, however, it's only the billionaire corps that can afford this tech.
The biggest problem with being homeless is the simple fact they're out of the system, in many cases they can't get help or replace ID cards etc without having an address. In the UK homeless people can use the DHSS as their address to claim benefits, however, the DHSS isn't a free information advice center, therefore they don't tell people this. This is part of the systems failure, people that need help and advice who have no money, their just considered as trash!!
It's clear to me after watching many LA homeless videos for many years that people are being priced out, many have got up and moved to another state. This is another problem many have. "I was born here, I'll die here" Like their feet are nailed down.
The americans are brainwashed. They think if you got a job you will get wealthy. They don't know that the only one who get wealthy is your boss while you can't pay a flat...

Easy to say "Get a job" WHY DONT YOU OFFER HIM ONE? im so tired of hearing that!!! Who hires people who cant shower or change clothes?

He is definitely intelligent and able bodied enough to make a living if he want.....however as a robotics engineer, I also have to agree with what the guy is saying. To some degree he's not wrong. So I really dont know...maybe we will have to adjust, but what's for sure is the conversation needs to start now.
@@roman6135 I've hire ex-convicts before and i dont mean minor stuff, i'm talking armed robbery. For me the problem is finding people with the right skills that I can afford. People complain about how much mcdonalds pay...well yea thats because anyone can do it. The rule of supply and demand also applies to labor. You want a lfe long career with little chance of automation, learn how to fix an air conditioner. It will be a long time before we can build a robot that can go into people's homes and do that...and it pays well.
@@m.p.oliver8300 Exactly
Sounds like he is oddly proud of the fact he is homeless what kind of career is that.
Couldn’t agree more, he thinks it’s smart to spend his time trying to show others how to be homeless rather then getting a job. If he valued money as much as he says he’d get a job. He seems way more intelligent then most homeless with drug addiction or mental illness but clearly no worth ethic or ambition. Blaming technology and AI for the reason of being homeless is absurd.
Because he is absolutely correct.
Humans are no longer needed or wanted to do labor tasks. Robotics and AI were a predicted threat in the 70's, and idealized well before that in fictional novels. Even our generations cartoons, pretty clearly show the benefits, but not the adverse conditions created by the offset of a superior competitor(IE:machines).
Humans do make for good lab rats, all Mcgovmnt agrees. Unless you maintain or develop Robots, your future is bleak. But if you develop and maintain robots, others will lose their jobs, and become obsolete. What is the moral choice you would make, sacrifice yourself, or destroy others.

@Wus Hatnin? me and my hubby work hard in a warehouse and have prepared and are preparing to live off grid. Its possible. These people will be the LEAST prepared in times of economic disaster.
@Wus Hatnin? This country isn't perfect but it still has fertile land that can provide us with more than enough. Esp bc of technology and things like solar pumps becoming cheaper every year...and the cost of traditional utilities, clean water, and food going up and up and up.
To be able bodied and camp out in a tent talking about living that way is odd. Seems to me he would be comfortable living in the woods, hunting. But I guess thats too far removed from what he's really there for.
@Wus Hatnin? Oh these dug addicts and bums are not bothering anyone, how would you like having them camp out in front of your house, defecating, urinating and exposing themselves in front of your kids, yeah they're not bothering anyone.

Compliments to the “german in venice” i hope to meet you someday thanks for working to create some level of understanding with some of the people living in Venice are and giving them a chance to talk about their situation.
"i wanna do YT vids teach people how to be homeless" 🤦♂️
It’s sad to say but that’s really the only way to get homelessness literally up off their feet. When they settle somewhere they get too comfortable and keep themselves homeless. When I lived in California last year, there was an RV of homeless people that parked in front of our house and stayed there. At first they were somewhat responsible, they moved the RV on the street cleaning days, they picked up after themselves, and we really didn’t see them. After a while, they stopped moving on street cleaning days and parking enforcement never did anything about it. They started putting out trash to purposely not allow other cars to park near them. They started coming out in the day time, walking around the neighborhood which “coincidentally” was around the time someone broke into my car (at noon on a major busy street). Someone broke into the house across the street, someone broke into our garage. All their drug addict friends started showing up, they’d pass out or start yelling like maniacs. One guy with a machete was walking around the neighborhood at some point. And police did nothing. I understand some people are down on their luck but there are way to many resources and opportunities to live on the street for extended periods of time. That’s why if you make it inconvenient for them to settle somewhere, it’ll at least get them actively thinking and somewhat productive rather than just sit somewhere zoning out.
IT WILL NOT BE LONG UNTIL WE ALL GO THROUGH THIS...IT IS TRYING OUR SOULS AND WAITING FOR OUR TURN.......THIS IS A REPEAT OF A REPEAT!

He is an outlier I'd say. He chose his situation basically. He is a professional bullshiter. He should be a politician. There are lazy people or they just love this lifestyle. I don't think they are a big chunk. There is no helping in this case as it's their choice.
Lot of homeless are broken people and they need to be in a proper mental institution, but sadly these places have an stigma attached to them. The druggies should also be in an institution to clean up. I feel sorry for their situation, but the only solution for them is to not be free roaming in society. They can't help themselves and free roaming will just make things more miserable for everyone.
The people who lost their house and are in a difficult situation should get proper help and shelter so they can get back to a better proper living. Sadly the government just bunch them all together and they think there is a solution that fits all of them.
Politicians are very lazy with solutions and provide just half measures that are basically contracts for their acquaintances.
No it's not sad about "normal" people losing their homes. Homeless is the same vibe whether you had a job or not. Sorry about that!
I think the word is "slacker". Homeless by choice, as others have said these folks dilute/confuse the situation. Take care of those that can't take care of themselves, assist those who can work with what they need to get a job and a home, make the slackers move on to where they can live without ruining places for other people. Maybe we need reservations for those folks where they could use their many talents to be self-sustaining. Lots of unused arid land in California.

Good blogging. Thanks to the young man for sharing his story as I wish him the best .
That guy is calm and he talk everything clearly about the situation and problems....good video
The defacto government isn't in business or was never created to provide work for the people. Provides the common defense and protect rights and freedoms but nothing more. Now the majority of the population is dependent and that is how they will depopulate.
Sounded like a reasonable guy. Hope things work out.
@Mylech XI job loss is now not in the future. People can't do anything without currency or permission. The oligarchy is finishing their two tier society.
Seems intelligent. Who would choose to be homeless? He said this was his choice. The government can help but people must help themselves. He seems to want freedom, but freedom is not free.
Meth is worth more than rent to some people.
Intelligence needs common sense, positive attitude, sufficient good karma and strength to take action to make it of any value.
Who would choose to be fat?
Hotels@ tax payer money. “Government is slow to act”. You been on the street a year and a half. Your slow to act on finding a job.
I lived in Venice for the 90s n it was heaven n hell, I'm glad that I experienced it, Thanx L.A.
This is my old neighborhood, and I lived on Flower street which is one street over from Rose. It was never like this at all with the homeless when I lived there. There were some homeless living in motor homes that irritated the local residents.
Back in the day people could buy RVs for cheap, but now RVing is a huge thing that low income/homeless can't afford them anymore.
Another example of the elite rich who own these companies being discriminatory and holier than thou
It’s a choice, he said it himself.
It's a choice for "him" is what he said....
Justin Case true! And as he continues speaking, he's talking about "everyone started started out homeless."
How about;
go find yourself a piece of land and build your solar/wind/plumbing/trash collecting "home". Most thinking adults do not decide to squat in front of businesses and others front doors. Humans are territorial and socially polite and we learn to stay within our tribe if we belong to one!
As I listen I have come to this conclusion, its skewed thinking! Drugs drugs and more drugs? :-(
I am wondering if any of the endless mono comments below are from people who actually live in, or have ever lived in California. We all have a road to hoe, and our part to play in it. Making discovery along the way is both good and beneficial. This young man is growing many new ideas. Learning compassion and service in what is far from an ideal circumstance. He is growing as a living being and I am grateful ( as in truth we are all connected ) ( as he grows so do we all ). Thank you for the upload and the interview, German in Venice.
This guy (sorry don't know name) is forward thinking fella, a planner, looking at futures. I hope he sees this video plus he gets even more involved in assisting the homeless and the environment about him. Kudos.
Nice to see the city finally caring about how bad the homeless situation is getting out there. Your videos are helping
@vfr1200x jcm71 it’s showcasing the extent of how bad the homeless situation has gotten in Los Angeles. Most people think of LA in terms of Palm Trees, celebrities, the beach, beach blondes, etc. If they haven’t lived in LA for 20 years like I have they wouldn’t realize the utter shithole that it’s become and how politicians and the media have swept the situation under the rug.
This was literally how every 80s and 90s sci-fi movie started..
Wheres Snake Plisken when you need him
he is going to save Sarah Conner.
We are literally going to end up in The Fifth Element
Ever think that we "become what we behold"..all the way through the 80s and 90s we where all fed science led apocalyse scenarios...we hit 2000..nothing happened...we hit 2012..nothing happened...YOU ARE NOW LIVING IN 2012 !! The beginning is near !! 🤗
@@2011woodlands LOL, someone is getting terminated.
The first guy trying to justify homelessness like he’s part of the solution and not the problem just shows how backwards they are.Reminds me of obese people trying to justify that their weight won’t give them future health problems.
Lifting weights is baaad for you mkay ?
You need to take your time and let them talk and finish. Try to get to interview him again and let him have the time to talk he is 100% on to something. Thank you for taking your time and sharing
Is this Guy the President of the homeless community
I dont know but he's pretty sharp
@@johnkenny4017 almost too sharp to be homeless
Some ppl choose free over getting their a$$ in gear, doesn't mean they don't speak well. It's the think part that's wonky. IMHO
I think this dude is half full of 💩💩💩 when he started talking about paper work and all of that.
Tressa Arasheben you call his belongings trash. You are part of the problem. Homeless people are people too. So what if he chooses to be homeless. Indigenous were “homeless” by modern standards and back then Europeans didn’t give af how they live. Tossing them up, displacing them, looking down on the lifestyle.. Mindsets never change.
We have to sacrifice most of our “things” it’s called thrash bro.
Lol just stash it somewhere. Homeboy makes it such a big deal
Pawel g yeah stash it in the garbage can!
Lmao dead ass
i thought that too. 2 months in a LA hotel that's like a couple grand of housing for free. Hot shower and a tv id be all over that deal. This dude worried about his garbage
Nano is a future van dweller. He should get a truck+camper to start. Then Nano can install solar panels, water tanks, and a wet bath. Trick it out!
German in Venice, THANKS for interviewing these folks and sharing the footage!
It looks a lot better than the last video... good filming! Finally!
he's one of the very few people that i've seen homeless that chose to be homeless by his own accord.
Are kidding me ! 99% of them are by their own accord, they refuse to live by societies rules, you know the same rules that you and I live by every day
@@oveidasinclair982 what i'm saying is a lot of homeless people blame it on someone else. he on the other hand was like i want to be homeless....
@@SteelRhinoXpress lol the thing is though he is putting blame on someone else. Except not on an individual but on society lol. Dude says society is fucked because of ai
Thanks for this, that guy was super interesting, to hear his ideas and thoughts.
"Most people are going to become homeless because of automation and A.I. "
Translation: Want govt. check, and no rules....
Ya, it hasn't happened yet, but they want to get above that curve and be homeless. By the way, No ROBOT will EVER be able to replace my job!!! Not even close. When the Robots come in and take over a job, there will be new higher-paid jobs coming in to fix those robots and they break down as an example. People lose their jobs since forever as things change and yet more people are working than ever before. One of the biggest job losses in recent years is meter readers. No one is going around every month reading your Electrical, Gas, and Water meters anymore. It's all wireless. Those people moved onto other jobs.
Lots of people don't collect a bunch of crap at their homes. I wish I had less, but a lot of it is out of my control, for now, otherwise, it would have been tossed long ago. You're out on Public land, blocking sidewalks from everyone else with huge piles of CRAP. It's not recycling, especially when the city comes by and has to pick up all the crap to throw away. They become rat-infested places, which causes all kinds of new problems. They should have their tent and a few importing things like clothing. Stuff that can fit into that 1 tent. Stuff that you can quickly load up and move when you are told to move!!!

This guy is a hippie just removed from the 60s, back then when things were cheap he would have headed to San Francisco or Berkeley, now due to prices in those cities and social services you have these clusters in LA. He is articulate and could find work, just a slacker.
The mistake is providing money, drugs, services, free valuable real estate and lawlessness. City building codes are completely contradictory. Lawlessness and homelessness are not solutions to impractical building codes.
What they need to do is provide a homeless camp sight with toilets and showere and Serv. to help them meet into the working system. Removing all from them will only become more dangerous becuse even homeless need a place to go to the bathroom and hungry people can become dangerous . All states have empty places that they can use to get them off the residential streets . No one is going to hire you if you can't take a shower and stink , if you don't have an address, if you don't have a phone, if you don't have transportation. Not providing with some kind of help will only make the situation way more dangerous. White till all the evictions starts becuse people losing thire employment . We will see hunger and homelessness like never before . The States should start preparing for this insted of removing services. Becuse of the virus it will happen .
What you state makes sense but in my city there are two neighborhoods quite close to mine where you never see any homeless people, you rarely see anyone on the street at all, and it will cost you several + million dollars to live there. When you do the math it all starts to make more sense, and if it isn't about dollars, it make no sense.
@@rosaliamartinez8956 make a tent city in the desert and let them do all the drugs they want. Solar will provide ac and nobody will give a flip about their behaviour
@@jdrcontent2922 yes put homeless families in the desert and the elderly that can't live on thire Social Security or Veterans who have P.T.S.D or people who lost all thire saving becuse of medical Bill's. The problem with your view is you see all homeless through a certain lens all homeless are drug addicts which is not true. More people becuse of the Covid will lose thire homes and employment so we should put them in the desert also ?
@That Flippin Guy Is this not insane ! There are citys where a homeless person can legally sleep on the sidewalk but not in thier cars . I agree they want to make it illegal for you to sleep or live in your van . Now some city wants to make it illegal to live full time in your R.Vs . Pure insanity from these politicians.
This is so sad... he says he wants to escape the system but he’s still a slave to the system. If they really are into being self sufficient they should go in nature. Maybe the forest. Also not all Americans with houses have lots of junk you can be a minimalist with or without a house.
If he does that how is he going to continue getting the free food ppl are bringing him?
California is basically a wasteland, only nature you'll find here is out in the desert where it's 115° and no water
The forest? They would burn the whole place if they do.
@Rob Bwoamn the scraps aren't enough to feed you 3 times a day. Many people here living indoors are on a rent strike, aren't paying utilities but still have them. Receive WIC to pay for all their food, and keep having kids when it costs the system an average of $50,000 per child delivery because they never pay the bill.
Great interview
That’s my old bike lane...from there it’s flat all the way to the beach...great area to ride.

Why would anyone object to having an "outdoor insane asylum" across from their house? And the sacrifice these outdoor people have to make when moving into a motel for free for several months - (and I'm worried about the cost for one night!). The guy being interviewed has all the excuses for not working - everything will be done by machines and AI.
