They are far better than the Competition such as Bixby. Are they a better value? I’m not sure. My recommendation is buy them use for under 1500, at that price point I would say it’s well worth it.
DMV is clueless, on my first kayak it took 2 trips and 3 supervisors. They had no idea how to handle it. On my second kayak I went to AAA instead and it was in and out in 10 minuets. You will need Certificate of origin from the manufacture, sales recipe showing tax paid, if you don’t have that you’ll need a bill of sale and they will charge you tax at that point.

Also if the kayak doesn’t have a serial number or vin you’ll have to bring it in so they can put one on.
