It works quite well. And you don’t have to rotate your tool holder towards a side of the ways. You can set the height anywhere the tool is sitting. Thanks for your continuing support.
This works better than the other ones because you can set your tool anywhere on the compound. You don’t have to swing it over to the edge and be over the ways if you’re using like a round rod. I like it... gonna make one. Have tried a lot of methods. The challenge I have is my lathe is a Sherline mini; things normally done a full size lathe are near impossible due to lack of room. This I can scale. Thanks for taking the time to vid this. GeoD
@@mkegadgets4380 I sub'd, about ½ way thru the 2nd vid I watched. FYI, I found a great way to store zip lock bags. Use one of those paper accordian files labeled A-Z, (they have more partitions). I sort bags in size & label each divider. You can get a tremendous # of bags in it & they're durable. The one I use for bags was old & used from a business I had thru the '90's & early 2000's; a bit of packing tape help & it's over 30 yrs old. Something I added along the way was a hand drawn rule w/ 1" increments to the top front for qck measurement. After a while I had so many bags of one size, I started putting 11 bags, folded in half inside a single bag & gave them their own division. Makes it easy to grab bags & give them to friends who come by. I also use an accordian file for storing thin plastic, paper, rubber & metal sheets. Even have enough room left to store my drawing paper, plastic shape templates & old project drawings in the back 4-5 partitions. The older I got the more I craved not wasting time being disorganized. About 50, I will on a organize everything campaign after I found myself digging thru a container of fasteners for the umpteenth time. I just couldn't stand wasting what time I had left; glad I did, now that I'm 70! GeoD
I am going to try to make it : being directly on the lathe ways is the right solution, and the reflexion glass improve precision, great ! (excuse my english, i am french)

Your English is very good. I study Latin and Hebrew. We have millions and millions of native-born Americans that neither speak English and if they do, they speak it poorly.

@@mkegadgets4380 It is kind of complicated to describe in a few short sentences. Set your tool post so one face is parallel to the chuck and the other is parallel to the centerline. When you either face cut or turn a shaft get the correct tool holder. You don't need to be changing the angle of the tool post for facing parts or turning/boring operations. Kennametsl makes insert holders for facing/turning operations. Get the right tools and save time in set ups and make more money as a machinist. If you are a hobby lathe operator continue with your method.
Smart, thank you , I particularly like the reflex tilt mirror..

You are not using your tool post and tool holders correctly.
How am I not using my tool post holder correctly? Please enlighten me.
