- Hello everyone, thanks for checking out the new video! I finally was able to install my new Berk resonated test pipes on my G37. They sound great and I can't wait to see what kind of power the car makes after some more mods and a re-tune. The car sounds awesome and the quality is top notch. Not as difficult an install as I was thinking. Cats look like a tight fit on my q50. Test pipes coming soon!
I did HFCs a couple months back on my 08 coupe and it was hands down the hardest thing I’ve ever done. The factory cats just would not come off. Struggled for a long time and eventually had to hit it with an oxygen torch. Alex makes it look too easy! Great video though
damn, I live in ontario and the weather is awful for cars. I have test pipes coming soon and i figured i'm just gonna cut the bolts off and hit the studs with oxy-fuel haha
Hey think about it this way; Worst case Ontario, you just take it to a shop and pay someone to do it.

Did you use a sealent and gaskets? It sounds really good. I'm installing 1320 hfc once I eventually break the "demon" loose. Any suggestions on what gasket sealer to use if any? Thanks for another great video about the g.

Great explanation and clear visuals. But question, did you torque these bolts down? I'm doing this project soon and it seems like there's little to no space for a torque wretch in there

What was that orange sealing looking stuff. Was that used to delete any possible exhaust leak??
Did you get rid of the exhuast mounting bracket? Its right under the transmission so I don't wanna risk anything
Hello Alex for this second install of the new test pipes , did you have to go through the engine bay to remove the “demon bolts” ? Please lmk as I’m about to attempt to remove my old test pipes and unfortunately don’t have the extensions to go through the engine bay
Hey Alex im surprised that you haven't made a video of how to replace the fuel damper from that bracket that you put the spacer for and raise that line for the eps delete kit to work. I wish you had a video for it

Hey man great video, I know it was a while ago, but I have the same test pipes im about to install. The “demon” bolt, do you have to unscrew it or can you do just the two nuts then wiggle it off
Unfortunately it has to come off. On my Z I had to heat the bolt to get it off but with my G I was able to get it free with an extension and breaker bar.
Did you get a check engine light or nah ? maybe not because you did state that you got a tune.

I've got Berk HFC's on my G and gone thru 2 gaskets already. Ordered from z1 and got the metal one and its good for up top by the headers but still blew another after the CAT. Anyone know if this leak is common and i should be using some kind of sealant?
I think the rtv is from the factory my stock cat has it too

Go buy 2 packs of spark plug non foulers at eurozone or o'Reilly's. Drill one of them out and screw it in then screw the non drilled out one on top(stacking) and screw into test pipe, tighten, and disconnect battery before you start. Re-connect battery codes are cleared and good to go bro.

All theses nissan cars seem to have the same setup 350z 370z 350GT skyline 370GT Skyline and I don't think test pipes are legal cause the emissions become more pollution in the air and also you may wanna change the manifold for headers cause it's pointless just having test pipes and catalytic converters performance headers stop the gases from going back up into the cyclynders and pushing up against the cylynders which you can lose power and with performance headers it will stop the flow from back pressure and force it out one way and it cant go back into the engine

I heard that you can't pass emissions tests with test pipes. Is that true?
andrei birladeanu It depends on both your state laws and you county laws. I have a PA emissions license and work in a county that only does an OBD test. That means if the check engine light isn't on after all emission monitors are set you'll likely pass. However if it's a visual inspection and it's obvious there's no cats (those resonators could trick someone) you'd fail.
ApexZ06 I’m also from pa and checked the laws. My county also does the OBD. So if there are no warning lights I should be fine?
andrei birladeanu Yes but you may need a tune with test pipes. I have HFCS so I can't be sure. Keep in mind that if they do throw a code clearing the codes won't work as you need to have the monitors run also. I'll also to double check and see whether not having cats fails the safety portion of the inspection. Believe it or not the state is very strict when it comes to these tests so some shops may be picky about modded cars. I'll get more info tomorrow if I can but at my shop as long as your exhaust is in one piece and not leaking you'd be ok.
ApexZ06 for the berk resonated tp on their website it says it doesn’t cause a CEL 95% of the time. Thanks for the help though man, I really appreciate it
andrei birladeanu No problem. The safety inspection can get pretty technical but emissions basically boils down to is the CEL on or not. If you take your car to a shop you regularly go to and you are ok with them I doubt you'll have trouble.

Not necessarily unless you truly want the most gains. But tunes are costly so its better to add all the performance parts first then get a tune.
it's not a bad idea at all to get a tune after.. removing the stock cats will free up a lot of exhaust flow and back pressure. It's important that your car is not going to lean out on the top end because of this. Will it destroy the car with a stock tune? no probably not, but if you hammer on it all the time then you may be asking for trouble. a quick air/fuel calibration is inexpensive really and it's nice to know everything is running the way it should

sorry buddy, turns out that g's still run on the richer side after test pipes, just figured this out myself at the dyno last week. however, its more important to get a tune for anything before the intake, if its after the computer will compensate for it. sorry for misinforming, i learned something myself too. but any power gains will not be noticed until a professional tune has been done. hope this helps

I previously had OEM cats with muffler delete on my G37s Coupe, the sound was perfect , i personally felt like i wanted something louder I then decided to replace the OEM cats and try resonated test pipes
When the car started up it was Extremely Loud!!, i knew it would get louder but i never thought it would be this loud. The cold start literally sounds like mini explosions going off in the garage one after the other
I love the idle it sounds nice and deep, cruising at lower speeds sounds good , but merging on the highway is almost a nightmare, it definitely drones alot but i don't mind it though. I'm looking into an electric cutout exhaust valve in hopes that it would make those cold starts more bearable. So far i've got Air Intakes, test pipes and a muffler delete.
