- So yeah, I tried this on stream and basically got so distracted that I crashed (surprising right?). This time we give the lil Pigeon it's best chance possible of escaping the flood!

i believe i saw this on an episode of mythbusters in the US, but at 3:00, you actually create (slightly) more drag by opening the tailgate. having it closed creates a vortex within the truck bed that actually (slightly) reduces drag over the roof of the cab
edited to add: no idea if beamng calculates drag/fluid dynamics in a way that would represent this, so this might not apply in game, but i thought it was interesting either way

I like to think jimmys last flood video is what made the devs patch nitrous not being consumed when manually activated.

I don't know if this is accurate in sims or not, but leaving the tailgate on and up is actually more aerodynamic IRL. It basically creates an air dam in the bed; without it, air moves over the roof and down, hitting the bed and tailgate and causing more drag.
I think the Mythbusters did something on this, if I remember correctly. Now, whether that's worth the extra weight in this case, I don't know, probably not. But worth considering.
I’ve been playing with the flood mod on some of the different maps in beam Ng drive. The Italian map has a very fun hill climb that works particularly well

What's wrong here is the driver/co-driver set up.
Because of the fact that there is just one wheel up front, you need to distribute the weight transversely with a two-person set up. Ideally, one should be shorter and bulkier, and the other one should be taller and preferably have his GCE's in maths (and arts). Next, we weigh down the rear axle with some things that might or might not have fallen out of a van.
You should also consider an older figure in the back, along with those goods that may or may not have fallen out of a van. And a blow-up doll.
I used to adore Sim Racing. From the ages of 11 to 19, I used to endlessly play Live For Speed and iRacing and even held world records on certain track/car combos from time to time! Real life eventually took over, and I sold my setup in order to progress with other aspects of life.
I'm 31 now, have an amazing life with my partner and our first child on the way. I've always wanted to build another setup, specifically for BeamNG, as it's a game that seems to have been built and designed with all of my fantasies from childhood in mind. I always wanted an open sandbox car-sim game that you can tailor to your own tastes, that realistically simulates the car mechanicals, etc. I honestly watch these BeamNG videos and just wish I could even play it momentarily, just so I can whisk myself away for an hour or two and enjoy myself.... unfortunately I have to be realistic and accept the fact that due to real life commitments, I could never justify spending thousands of pounds on a satisfactory setup, even if I had the spare cash, so it's sometimes painful to know I'll never experience it for myself - But, it is nice to watch videos like this and have my little "escape", even if it's just from a third-person perspective.
Finally... This is the vehicle I've been wanting you to use the whole time you've been playing this flood stage!! I'd expect you to soup it up though, with nitrous, bigger tires, engine etc. 👍👍

it isn't armed because he is activating it manually. Pretty sure arming is only necessary when you have it come on at a certain gear and rpm.

i had to highly modify it to beat the flood on very easy. the thing is none of it really helps how bad it drives and how rough the road is. my final configuration ended up with as much weight as i could put in the back, all the offroad parts and tires, and the race engine.
