Thanks man! I have family in LA (but I much prefer SD 😂) so I make sure we make our way a little south every year when we go. Been going to Cafe Moto since 2019! Love it there
Its right about 6'6" total w/the rack on. That is specific to the Overtrail + trim. I think the Overtrails are a little bit taller than the other trims because of a higher level of ground clearance.
Thanks for making this for the community 👏🏽 Btw, @NotWG how much does the OT roof rack cover the sunroof? Also, what’s your opinion on roof noise with the roof rack ?
Covers the sunroof about 4 or so inches maybe? Plenty of light still comes in. Wind noise is noticeable but not as bad as my brothers 2023 Tahoe with a roof rack
Man, i just got my overtrail today and as soon as got in the road at 60~70mph, I thought I had a window open, stopped to check them all, it’s so noisy ! I’m coming back tomorrow to remove it at the dealer, hope with only the bars it’s better… imagine 8 hours of road with that noise in your ears, geez
Oh man, bummer. I’m a couple weeks out from taking delivery of a Nori OT + with the roof rack. I was hoping it wouldn’t be too noticeable. I used to daily a lifted Wrangler with a full roof Rhino Rack and that combined with the tires and complete lack of aerodynamics, I could barely stand more than an hour on the hwy. Hope the GX isn’t that bad.
Yep, I can confirm. OEM racks generates the " rumbling" noise. Going to look into Westcott or Prinsu for the aftermarket version. Other than that, it's a great rig!
I thought the same thing, got to 60 mph and man that sucker is noisy, thought I left the back window unlatched. It was this dang roof rack! How can we remedy this noise problem? Lexus told me only thing is, take it off!
On a 5 hour trip in my wife's luxury+ right now and the road noise anywhere above 70ish is insane and driving everyone nuts (including my wife who knows I hate this car and is desperately trying not to say anything negative about it). Will be taking off the cross bars as soon as we get home to see if that helps.
I would love those but realistically the places I go on the east coast with this don’t require it. Lots of sand, snow, and some mud. Nothing really rocky around here!
Have you considered the Prinsu roof rack, rear ladder or rear window accessory panel? So far they look like the only aftermarket products on the market.
Nice combo. Me, 2017 ES daily, 2020 992 Friday/ Saturday toy. Rolex SS Daytona white dial, Seadweller, SS WG fluted bezel Datejust Jubilee white dial Roman
I wonder if you can just remove the rail anchors and leave the rack attached to them (skip having to detach the rack from the anchors)? They didn't give me the manual with my rack so I don't know what it says.
@notwg thanks for the video. Question any concern about the open holes on the inside of the rails being exposed to weather/water with the rack off? Could water get inside the rail and just sit there ? Or are the holes drilled into a closed solid block inside the rail? If that makes sense.
You can definitely unbolt it yourself as I have, but to get it off the car you need 2 people without scratching the car. Perhaps with a ladder you could attempt to do it yourself, but I wouldn’t bank on that myself! Try to find a buddy to help out!
Clears with about an inch! Need to upgrade my garage doors though - I have about 2 feet of room vertically until the brick opening… got a quote for 3 doors for $40k so that took a backseat haha
Thanks for the video. Picked up my GX Yesterday. Have you noticed a large hit to your MPG with the rack on? Mine came already installed and I’m seeing a party 13mpg combined lol!
Took the rack off the day after I got it since that will only be used for long road trips for us! Fuel mileage isn’t great but I have seen it improve over time while the car “learns” my driving style a bit better
Very helpful video! Just got the 550 yesterday. Will be storing the roof rack today until I need it, to eliminate that extra noise. Thank you!
Dude, sweet cafe motto cap! Didn’t think someone on the other side of the country would know barrio Logan

thanks for including the instructions listing the dynamic & static loads!
what is the overall total height of the vehicle? (with the rack installed)
Nori green look stunning. Is this overtrail or overtrail plus
Great video!! What is the height with the rack on top?

@@NorthoftheWallGarage Awesome, thanks for the heads up - I'm expecting to get my Incognito OT+ with rock rails and roof rack in the next month!
@@Lincoln018 just got mine and I think it is way to noisy once you reach 60mph! On this site to see if I can find out how to remedy it.

You want to get aftermarket aerodynamic ones like from wescott design. Everyone says they’re super quiet. Check out!

Can this roof rack be used to install rooftop tent too?
It seems the cross bars from Lexus are not rated to support rooftop tent.
Are you going to install optional skid plates and rock sliders?
I would love those but realistically the places I go on the east coast with this don’t require it. Lots of sand, snow, and some mud. Nothing really rocky around here!
The green looks good … do you think the black looks good too ?
is there a fix to the hood wobble? over 60mph i experience a lot of hood movement which is odd for a 80k vehicle
I was wondering the same thing!
Have you considered the Prinsu roof rack, rear ladder or rear window accessory panel? So far they look like the only aftermarket products on the market.
That might be a better option depending on our needs - good tip, I will check them out!
Im still waiting to get my gx 550

Something about 911s and Rolex … such a good pairing.

Yes I think you could.. might make it a little more difficult to lift onto the car and set up however
Nice Tudor!
Thanks!! Enjoying the black bay 58 - it’s my daily!
@@NorthoftheWallGarage I was going to do the same! Love my BB 58
Can you get a Thule roof carrier on that style rack with the multiple cross bars?
Curious how different the process is for a Premium Plus model? We have one on order and it comes from Lexus with the roof rack, which we don't need.
