It's a great tent, lots of space. I'm one of those people that got it for solo camping with the idea that if you're stuck in your tent for whatever reason, it's nice to have plenty of space to sit up and lounge around. I got the upgraded version with the different fabric (much like the cloud up 2), the gray/red model, and it has a rear vent and additional guy lines on the sides. It's worth a little extra weight imo to have luxurious accommodations.
@@enterprise8979 I think the fabric is different, but I don't know all the details. I think there are also additional points for guy-lines. I think the upgraded one has a vent that the standard one doesn't too.
Love my olive green Cloud Up 2 - just finished doing the NC500 and it was chilly but the tent held up well. Bought it just over a year ago based on your recommendation - thanks! Great channel, great community! Have a great summer!
Having a night out in my Mongar 2 tonight that I got after watching your videos. Well I got the Cloud Up 2 after watching you and then I liked it so much I got the Mongar! Loving your work mate - keep them coming! All the best from France
Decent looking tent and I love those clips on the corners for the fly.. nice and simple but the ability to tighten on the straps makes them so easy and effective
Well, the current versions have been upgraded since this tent (second hand) was released, and condensation is not an issue due to the rear window, but to be honest, there is such a decent gap around the underside and with so much mesh on the inner tht I would be very surprised if even this older version had too man y condensation issues.
@@SummitOrNothing Have you tested these tents in the rain? I live in the desert but would love to have the peace of mind that I would still be dry if I went home to the rain and humidity.
Its great as a roomy single person if your doing multi day hikes out from a camp base, plenty room for the extra gear you might need if you go do multi munroes in the west coast of Scotland & the rain decides to be your constant companion 😉
Great review, thanks! I've been looking into getting the cloud up 3 for a backpacking trip in Patagonia. We'll be there for a month and a half and will probably only be camping for about half of the trip. I was looking into getting the version of this tent that has the skirt as I thought it might keep the wind out better. I'm not too sure though as I know there'll probably be more condensation with the skirt. I'm also wondering if I could roll it up somehow for more ventilation when winds are lower and give myself the option... Do you think this version without the skirt is alright in high winds or would you recommend getting the one with the skirt for more warmth?
Great video again Trev, still remember your Lanshan video and makes me laugh every time . Not a bad tent the naturehike very good weight for 3 man tent
Great review Trev. I've been looking for something slightly bigger then my Nevis 200 to take my wife and daughter camping. We have a massive 5 man dome tent but was looking for something in-between. This looks interesting. I've also been looking at the Onetigres Backwoods Bungalow 2. Liking the idea of a tent with no poles and ridgeline option.
I'm the same, I like a 2-man tent. That's why I got the MSR E2. Your tent reminds me of our OEX Coyote 3, which I use when I camp with my 2 boys. But I struggle camping with the kids. Every time they spot a spider they scream. [correction: "we" scream 😜🕷]
I know what you mean - less hastle without the kids in tow too... I must say though, having recently been using the Vik 1 I have enjoyed taking the one man tent out too!
Great in summer if you know there isn't going to be any rain, as this setup is inner first. I like mine, I got the upgraded fabric, mine doesnt have different coloured poles, so not obvious what end was what, did find it a bit draughty when it was really windy, I use this on my own and sometimes with my Partner, good space, when the weather is clear and warm, I dont even use the outer, and its a good insect refuge.
Great video! I got the upgraded version of this tent, too. Needed some extra space for another person and my dog. I haven’t taken it out yet because I’m waiting for the temperatures to rise, but I’m definitely excited for our summer trip with this tent already.
Yea, this was a bargain second hand, so I am pretty sure the older model. I have the upgraded cloud up 2 which also comes with the rear window, as I mentioned in this video.
Looks a bit fiddly if it's blowing a gale with sideways rain. Plus its inner up first. I'm looking at it from an expedition tent for inexperienced campers point of view. Does it come with safety glasses for when you're putting the poles up? Looks very nice once it's up. Just need to take Trev with you to put it up and take it down.
Not really been an issue. I have used the 2 man version of this tent for 4 years now in all sorts of weather. It actually got hit by 60mph winds alongside an MSR Elixir, the Elixir buckled and required replacement poles, the cloud up sprang back to life. Also, you can put it up the outer first if you wish, you can set it up like a tarp if you wanted too. The upgraded version comes with additional guy lines to the sides to hold it up in the wind and with the rear window as i mention in the video. Its actually one of the easiest tents I have to put up on my own, but if you feel that you're not man enough for it, you can hire my assistance for a small fee lol
Great review, looks an intriguing tent! I like my vango assynt 200, torridon 300, but this looks a good bit lighter. As for your sleeping pads, have you used them much this year? Tried my UL80 a couple of times and been freezing, even with a foam mat underneath - how do you use them?
Great review! I have read somewhere that this tent has a part that can really flap around and at night it can keep you awake - is this the case do you know?
I have found for me that a one person tent is too small for any gear, a two person is a one person and that 3 person would perhaps be a decent two person... But just my humble opinion which counts for little...LOL
I bought this tent and it has been warm and dry through 30F nights...in the desert. I understand that experiences with condensation drip through the mesh ceiling are mixed, but would love to hear more opinions!
I put it this tent in the park yesterday. The only issue I've got with it is the floppy side walls. No matter how hard I try I can't stretch enough the side walls. I fear this might cause me a leak during heavy rain and windy weather. What do you reckon? BTW I think you have earlier version of this tent.
How did you fair up on the hills? I'm looking at one of these possibly for me and my two 4, soon 5 yr old kids. Not sure if enough space to accommodate on a camp site if weather is bad.. Can't keep two 4yr olds couped up in a tent this size but equally I I want to avoid a huge tent with a typical living area. Unpractical for carrying
Update, great summer tent, and good condensation handling, a bit draughty for Winter Camping, not 3-4 season, my limbs are all the same colour, so not easy to know back from front the first time, bookmark this video, as the instructions for erecting it are useless, very light, so be careful erecting it in high winds.
Yea - if you did take this out to share as two adults, you could always split it down - works out about the same as two or one man then. I wouldnt take my kids too far if I'm honest though... sounds too much like hard work lol
That’d be big enough for you and Nath. You could “share the load”. Unless it’s impractical for either of you to share your sleeping space for whatever reason. I know I like to have my own space but on occasion it might be handy to carry less weight... I must say those Naturehike tents are well easy to erect. I have their folding camping chair and their inflatable sleeping mat, and they’re good. Great price too.
Yes we did share a Vange mirage 2 man tent once before on Cadair Idris for that exact reason, so this could be a larger option for that... about the same weight too I think.
Looks good tent trev I have 2 kids and me for camping looks big can you get 3 matts in there ? I have the ul80 as well was thinking of getting the kids the same mat as me ? Atb Graham
We have other mats we usually take family camping to be fair, they are more like mattresses that would fit us all on. Not sure if you would fit 3 ul80s.
Nice review. Gives us an idea about how the tent looks, but you make the same mistake as many others, you judge the size of the tent by your own size. That's perfectly ok if you're just testing the tent for yourself, but since I don't know how tall you are, it doesn't help me deciding if the tent is any good for me or not. :) Would be great if you also measured the tent. Naturehike is infamous for making their tents smaller than stated in the production info. Cheers, and thanks otherwise for lots of good reviews!
We have a larger mat that we usually use for family camping, more like mattresses... in the past we have fit us all in a smaller tent on that. The trekologys were here as part of another video I filmed at the same time, but thought would demonstrate that with two adults there would still be room to stash gear.
HAha! Believe me George, we would get more privacy sticking them in front a screen than sticking them out in a garden - they'd be in and out constantly, bickering, squabbling, telling on each each other... Ive been there and done that lol.
The Opalus 3 I’m really tempted by. We now have the Sierra Designs Meteor 3, but if I ever did an extended through hike with the fam, I’m def getting something like the Opalus.

What a beast, I got the Cloud Up 2 because of your review seeing it survive strong winds, love the tent. Thanks for the recommendation.
Yea - was out in mine again last night - still standing against those winds after nearly 3 years!
Nature hike do like thier brighter colours says trev with his day glow orange coat on. Love you Trev
Decent looking tent and I love those clips on the corners for the fly.. nice and simple but the ability to tighten on the straps makes them so easy and effective
The naturehike are great tents. I love how easy it is to throw up the cloud up.
For a 3 man tent that’s a great weight, same weight as the cloud peak 2, great video Trev
Yea its amazing for the size. Look forward to getting out in it soon!
I love the nature hike tents are the easiest tents to put up and they’re very good tents. And they’re affordable
The most important factor for me is the condensation. I think it would help a lot of people if you slept in tents you review for at least 1 night. :)
Well, the current versions have been upgraded since this tent (second hand) was released, and condensation is not an issue due to the rear window, but to be honest, there is such a decent gap around the underside and with so much mesh on the inner tht I would be very surprised if even this older version had too man y condensation issues.

on the pics I've seen of the pole at the top that swings up and under, it appears to be set up with it below the main pole.
