Champion Marbles Identifications w/ David Tamulevich “The Stutsman Files”

  • In this video we take a close look at the Champion Agate Marbles that were produced in the 1980’s and possibly 90’s, which were sold off to dealer Charlie Stutmam of Evansville , Illinois …and appeared in his marbles catalog in the 1990’s.
David Tamulevich is our guide, and we tour his personal marbles collection and look at nearly all the Champion marbles that were being sold by Stutsman at that time. These hard-to-find West Virginia Swirls were purchased, labeled and preserved by Tamulevich decades ago!
Stutsman created his own marketing nicknames for most of these marbles and we present them here as we work through the catalog. 30-year old Stutsman’ Champion nicknames like “Pumpkin”, “Red Clouds”, “Gypsey” and others are all inspected, photographed and shown.
Thank you David Tamulevich for preserving this piece of American Machine-made marbles history for all of us to enjoy!

What an absolutely beautiful collection of mibs. I have been collecting for about 4 years. I think I have started a very nice collection for a guy with a limited income. I am a disabled vet. I started collecting as a way of dealing with both the pain and recovery time of major surgeries. I went through a three year period were I was having a major surgery ever four to six months. I went from a hard core Green Beret to a very happy and proud marble collector. Many of my family and friends give e me a hard time about that. All in good fun of course. Now back to the point I was making. Again what an amazing collection. You have done a great job interviewing people who have these collections. Not to mention that you have a pretty amazing collection yourself.

Awesome story Daren ! Marble collectors come from all walks of life and age groups, thanks for telling yours. I’ve been getting s a lot of messages from retired folks who are just starting to collect as it reminds them of their youth. Let your family laugh, and watch them catch the marble bug ! I hope your surgery years are behind you, and you score great marble finds this year.

Thank you Don ! You and David are two of the only four people I know who purchased from Stutsman back in the 1990’s . I’m sure there aren’t many others … we do have some Champion swirl marbles from the 1940’s and some un-opened net bags that we don’t dare open. We can show those but not much else when it comes to vintage ones . If you have any known older examples please message me and I can include them in the next Champion video. Thank you and Saludos ! 🔵

I recognize lots of the vintage marbles that I won lost traded in the mid 70's and 80"s. I grow up and lost interest, 40 years later I was cruising though UA-cam and came across your channel and brought back memories. I didn't know the name, makes or styles of marbles but I am learning what went in and out of my pockets as a kid. I am interested in collecting them now. Anyone have suggestion where to go. I already went through eBay but I like to see them in person. I'm from Central California, 559

At 1:27 the ones that say gypsey & bruisers, there's 3 of the brown & white swirls right beside them, what's their name? I have 2 of them and I've never seen any other ones like them!?
