Very great tutorial! I too run BOA & 4D Tactical pads for extreme comfort, not to mention the benefit of mitigating a TBI.
Thanks for the video and all you guys do. Super appreciated. Definitely gonna skin out my SF do this mod.
I wish someone made arc rails for team wendy helmet as a aftermarket replacement.
Ballistic Armor Co has replacement ARC rails, I replaced the mlok rails on my HHV bump with those so it looks more opscore like. I wonder if the TW has the rail holes in the same spots as Opscore.
Arc rails fit on team wendy helmets
@@AirsoftShizsAndGigs
I'm pretty sure they don't. They have different shapes and different sized holes for the attachment's screws.
@@magnumopus1628 There are a few pics with team wendy helmets with arc rails. Nothing a dremel cant fix lol.
@@AirsoftShizsAndGigsperhaps a Team Wendy Chinese replica for airsoft purposes?
Finger guns earned my like, lol! Also, helmets are something I'm starting to look into, so I appreciate the info.
I’m bracing myself for all the feeling I’m gonna hurt about that LUX LINER😂
Shoot...I'm ordering the wendy system lol I'm excited to try it -Walsh
Before I can my LUX Liner I'd want to make sure I'm not opening myself up for additional problems from backface deformation. It's essentially glorified styrofoam so I wouldn't think that it would make much difference, but I think the question is worth asking. Any comments on that?
@@dispassionateobserver fair question. My thought is that every other helmet system out there is using a pad system like we switched to. If the fast SF needs to LUX liner to pass the back face test it’s the only helmet of it’s kind to require that. Seemed life a safe bet to me to use a system that is industry standard.
@@timmarshall3651 Thanks for the reply. You are probably right and I'm sure it's fine. I may try to reach out to Ops-Core to see what they say. I have a couple of helmets and I'm thinking about doing something very similar to what you did in this video. I'll post it here if I get any useful information from Ops-Core.
@@dispassionateobserver I’d love to hear what they say
I have a tacprogear scout helmet. They are no longer made. They were on sale. It came with Ops Core mounts, I gutted the pads and suspension and replaced them with Team Wendy. I ended up with a cheaper off-brand-but-still NIJ certified helmet with Team Wendy comfort and Ops Core mounts. Best of all 3 worlds.
no such thing as an NIJ certified helmet
@@AntiBibinot in America
But doesn't the "skateboard" liner inside the ops core helmet provide additional deformation protection? I want to remove mine to test out the new HHV lattice pads. Currently running a fast SF with 4d pads and TW suspension.
Isn't that lux liner there to help with shock absorption just in case you were shot or got a big blow to your head?
do you recommend getting a size larger in the opscore ballistic helmets if planning on using team Wendy's liner system?
You guys should do a detail video with steps on doing this upgrade. Thanks guys keep up the good work
Are you talking about the $2,000 Ops core SF helmet? Ouch
I’ve used both and currently own both, looking to sell my team Wendy. The team Wendy is definitely comfortable and a nice helmet but the ops core SF is more comfortable and just fits better, not to mention it looks better. The outer shell of the ops core SF is smaller and lighter. It doesn’t look like a bowl on your head. I always thought I looked goofy in my helmets but the ops core SF just looks better it isn’t sticking way off your head. As time goes on the SF will get cheaper, demand was high for the first few years cause everyone wanted one and they had large military and government contracts to fulfill. I bought mine on sale for $1100 at arms unlimited. Their sales change like right now they are $1300 on arms unlimited but they sell out pretty quick. Arms unlimited runs a lot of great sales like pvs31As for $12,000 and ops core amps (connectorized with the NFMI or whatever that acronym is) for $800. If your wanting government labeled colt ARs they have those for good pricing. I personally don’t like colt but a lot of cloners want the lowers that say “property of US government for military only”
End of the day, most important part of a ballistic helmet is how well it protects from frag and ballistic threats (though blunt trauma is also important). Really looking forward to Oxide’s testing of Opscore SF to see what kind of backface deformation occurs with common rounds. I know that TW takes blunt trauma testing very seriously, but would also love to see a 3rd party test of ballistic performance. Theoretically, if the helmet sits farther off your head, there is less chance BFD will kill you…
Oxide did a Ops core ballistic test and the ops core was... well i don't know if it is worth the money
@@arkade- Yeah OpsCore SF is really a 9mm + frag helmet, not real IIIA. As long as you are ok with that it’s still a good helmet, but you’re right that it’s overpriced currently
The liner in the SF line is miles better than team Wendy. Boggles my mind how dudes don’t agree
Guys what helmet covers are you using? Big fan of the ranger green color and the overall design!👍🏻
It's our helmet cover - defensemechanisms.com/ballistic-helmet-cover/
Me with my PASGT high cut conversion I did with a Dremel 😭
- Unissued ACH Helmet
- FAST Super High Cut Mod
- Ops Core Rails + NVG Mount
- Team Wendy Boa
- 4D Pads
- Profit
Maybe a dumb question but what 4d pad kit did you use after? not sure about compatibility after the liner was taken out.
We found that the 4D TACTICAL ZERO G DELUXE RETROFIT COMBAT LINER from TNVC (ACH/ECH version) was the most comfortable and offered the best padding.
Why does team Wendy say you have to buy the ops core specific screw with rails if you use the original hardware?
Great vid. I have an HHV helmet (pre MLOK rails) with TW liner and BOA suspension. Looking to upgrade to Ops Core SF. Did you guys use the same sizing for your TW internals when put into Ops core shell? Or did you have to change sizes for internals or shell to make the combo work? Thanks!
Why are you looking to switch to an Ops core?
Can you swap the rails to the team Wendy helmet? I’m sure rails and other ops core stuff are cheaper than another ballistic helmet.
I've been attempting to find a ballistics test of the TW EXFIL ballistic helmet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Good stuff
I’m torn between their Pad Set that has 1/2 inch padding and their 3/4 inch. Do these compress down a lot? I have this gut feeling that the 3/4 brow isn’t gonna work for me and I don’t know why.
Will any of these options work with an Ops Core Fast Carbon High Cut?
Any idea which model performs better in terms of back force deformation and ballistic performance between the ops core fast sf and the team wendy exfil sl?
Hypothetically speaking and/or asking for a friend, if someone is running an HHV ATE which version of DM's helmet cover would best function with said helmet?
We’re not currently supporting that helmet.
@@timmarshall3651 I'm aware, just hoping you guys could maybe point me in the right direction on which version I could best shoehorn into working with it. Currently using the Ops-core FAST SF L cover but it leaves a significant amount of helmet left bare. No worries though, I'll figure something out
@@austin0351 we’ve never had a HHV in hand to test, sorry. I’ve also not heard from any customers that they’re making one of our sizes work.
Communism aint cool Odie.
What size team wendy boa do I need for a size large Ops Core helmet?
Size 1
Correct answer😁😁😁@@timmarshall3651
Has anyone tried fitting an ops arca rail onto a team wendy?
The fact that a TW helmet requires an Ops-core accessory (AMP arm) to fully utilize its rail system is a deal breaker to me. The level of integration is just not there yet. Comfort wise I like FAST better as I found out TW has slightly lower cut than FAST SHC and has the BOA cable running right underneath the earpro, which can cause improper seal and crimp my ears. However experience differs and I have asian head shape soooo
Will the sf fit the regular fast carbon
We’re only supporting the Fast SF ballistic at this point. It may fit other models but we don’t have every helmet available to test fitment.
REMEMBER TEAM WENDY GAVE MINEY TO HILARY FIR HER CAMPAIGN
The apple comparison didn't make sense considering Apple is closed source lmao
The biggest feature of a ballistic helmet is the ballistic rating and the OpsCore is nothing but a glorified frag bump. A $200 surplus helmet has more protection.
That was a round about way to tell us you haven’t got a clue what you’re talking about.
@gregoryhimschoot3355 really? I own an ops core. Read the ballistic rating that is buried in the fine print. It's selling pond was the lightweight not its ballistic protection. All the YT influencers know this aud it's why you never see them shoot one in a head to head comparison (see whatbi did there 😆)
It's why ops core isn't lvl iii rated. It's a lvl ii at best.. instead of shooting off at the mouth try providing something that would actually make you look intelligent.
@@ahole5407 So you claim the OpsCore is a $1,000 glorified bump helmet and a $200 surplus helmet offers more protection, yet you went out and bought one? Says more about you than the helmet, dude.
4d pads more comfy but a big down grade in impact protection, you think you are being a tactical tuff guy by mocking a “skateboard” liner but i am guessing you have no clue the impacts those are engineered to take. A great visual would be go watch X games freestyle air competition 5:27 in either skateboarding or BMX, i’ll wager these guys are taking way more frequent and severe hits that any tactical dudes short of actually being shot in the head of course. Anyhow congrats on your impact downgrade.
What TW system did you guys put into the ops helmet? My deaf dumb ass couldn’t understand 🙃
Sounds like a much better system
And this is also the completely unnecessary dilemma I’ve been having with all the brands of helmets. I want the arc rail system. These other systems are so stupid and requires all these different adapter kits to be able to run arc rail style attachments…
BOA system
CamFit system
Damn. So my amps wont work with the rails arms either on tw or armor source. Damn the military for buying either brand. The arms seem really flimsy on mine amd the seal sucks. Armor is at best boutique industry for civs. Theres too much of variety in the dod and le for these companies to making mostley proprietary crap at these price points. 1000$ earpro only works with 2600$ helmet. Gonna have to buy unity marks now.
It's a good thing that MARINES handle all the problems with ease and aplomb.
Lmao his apple comment made 0 sense
Thats alot of larping
