I watched u last year and it was u that inspired me to become a minimalist. I went a little cuckoo for a few months purging/throwing/ donating stuff that I NO longer need. I never felts so relieved in my life and I'm less stress. I also gotten rid of bulky beddings and only use either white or navy colors for my bed linens...it seriously changed my life not having to deal w/ cumbersome beddings during laundry days. Thank you soooooo much Melody :)
“Space to observe and make connections! “ I love it! Thank - you for your passion! It’s a daily battle. The point you make about hoarding and obsessive miminalizing being on the same spectrum, is very observant. You are a gift and using your gifts! Sometimes, I think I do focus on minimalism when I feel stuck. Control, quilt and fear are short term and always lead to a breakdown, rebellion and resistance. Thank- you for sharing what beautiful things you have learned so far on your journey!
Thanks for mentioning crafting - I love applying minimalist ideas but sometimes I feel this conflicts with the space taken in my home by crafting activities. Thanks for clarifying that minimalism is not necessarily about living with a tiny amount, but mindfully ensuring items in your life are loved & valued & work for you while enabling an effective & efficient life. Also love seeing Pat!!
WOW!!! What you said really smacked me in the head - once the things/distractions are gone, your purpose becomes clear. So true!! Double WOW. Thank you!
Living with mindfulness gives peace and contentment to life. Minimalism, in the true sense, has also given me contentment. Thank you for another great video. You are so wise.
Great video . You explained it well. Some minimalist have these strict rules and go by a certain number of items and judge others . I was a hoarder. I did a major declutter and I am fearing to go back to that . I constantly say to myself I AM ALLOWED to have things that I like or love that I use . I do really enjoy my life now without all the cleaning and clutter .
Thank you for sharing why you became a minimalist. Open my mind and eyes on why I'm trying. changing each day, little by little. You are my reminder and inspiration every Sunday to get ready for the upcoming week.
Love your quote "Values should be personal. we shouldn't live according to someone else’s belief system because we are ending up with their conclusions in a way. We want to take in advice from different personalities and hear different sides, but we ultimately want to find out the best way for us " This video was my favorite work of yours. Please keep making marvelous minimalistic masterpieces like this one! Thanks!
Very well said! I’ve saved this video to my favorites because it’s a great reference as it clears up what minimalism is and that it’s personal to each individual. Thanks for sharing.👏
I really like your explanations, especially the one that minimalism is supposed to free you from expectations. Sadly I notice in the UA-cam comments that anytime someone drops the word minimalism people want to force their expectations on this person and always find something that's not minimalistic enough. Gee, it's a lifestyle, not a competition!! Love your video! ❤️
Sometimes I wonder why I have so many Chiptole napkins in my glove compartment. 5 seconds later I'll take those napkins and wipe off the dashboard and trim. I guess that's a microcosm of my personal form of minimalism. I'm also afraid of dying with a bunch of stuff my family has to sort through haha
Who does your camerawork? I love all of the cuts to Pat - he is a scene stealer! I am really surprised at how much I've learned from you and how much I'm enjoying it. You've created a great channel here! Thank you!
For me minimalism has a lot to do for ease of cleaning. Usually when i purge items once a year or so....I never miss or remember what I even got rid of a few months later.
This was wonderful. Thank you! Everything resonated with me so strongly. Regarding what you said about getting into minimalism because of fear, I think I did that! I didn't realise it until you said it. It was after a break up and, after a bit of travel, reflection and sadness, I decluttered most of what I owned. The idea of getting rid of things had never really occurred to me until that point so I had a lot of stuff. But I'm starting to wonder whether it born out of a fear of relying on external things. After all, someone I thought I could put my trust in had left. I have found clarity, joy and freedom through minimalism but I do suspect that fear was the initial spark. Thank you for such valuable content x
Hi melody you are such an inspiration. I understood some key reasons why i buy things. And i havent bought anything for more than 6 months!!! Its not about finding stuff to fill the house .. Its really about what a home needs. Excellent videos u put up.. But it would be great if u can do videos on compartmentalising material things from your earlier videos.. Some fresh new out look on those topics would be really good
Hi, Melody. Where can I buy the plastic dividers where you keep your batteries, paperclips, pens, box cutter? There was a brief shot of the dividers. I love the that they are white and have round corners. Thank you.
Hi Melody, I have watched and enjoyed so many of your videos and thank you often. Usually a nice eclectic mix. Lately your videos are focused on a preacher-style. Not sure where that is coming from, only you could know/understand that. I miss your usual mix, but we all have various paths. Thank you for so much.
You might not be judging me, but that cat sure is. 😛😂😂 🐱 I totally agree with everything you say. I have always said to people that the way I'm in no competition with you on this minimalism stuff
Hi... i do think u are smart and i ised to wait all week for your videos. Somehow ypur vids used to relax me. Lately (about a month or bit longer) the vids are too wordy. Too analytical, just feels like a bit of a rant, & farrrrrrrr too wordy. The speaking pattern is too fast, too much, with too much force behind the tone. The speaking just goes on tangents too many words. Anyways i didnt post to criticize, i do think u offer alot of good. Just maybe minimalize the amount of what u offer up to present. Sorry if i sound to criticize, i am not trying to do that.
I agree but like it. She is growing evolving and ofcourse people change. It's life. Something she wants to share will today/this month etc will be different to the next.

You're the only one who really gets it.

Personally, I love your new spin on these videos, and you manage to add so much new insight into a now relatively saturated 'movement'.

Very informative & clarifying video. Your lists below the video are very helpful too. I love the little peaks at Pat while you are talking.
AMAZING video! Never associated minimalism directly with freedom. Keep up the amazing work!
Love your quote

Greyson Home I agree I miss those as well . I feel like those are more friendlier and relatable
I am on MY minimalist journey. I currently call myself a reductionist.
Best video.
how long does it take you to convert to minimalism?
I love your channel. I keep coming back to rewatch certain videos whenever I get a little stressed with my goals. Thank you for being here.
You might not be judging me, but that cat sure is. 😛😂😂 🐱 I totally agree with everything you say. I have always said to people that the way I'm in no competition with you on this minimalism stuff
I love your videos. I think Pat is the cutest cat. Just curious if you eat vegan?
Anybody know what the white roundish thing is at 2:35?
Are there any books 📚 that you might recommend on minimalism? Thanks 🙂
Thanks for the recommendations 👍🏼😊 definitely checking these books 📚 out 📚🙂

Cats are great minimalists and teach me to be present 🙂
Seriously? And dogs too I guess eh?
First one to comment! yeey.....Love your videos, Melody

If you want just search for „Sahra Wagenknecht“ :0) she looks a little bit like you ;0) but I am not in politics.....
Putting makeups is to be constrained by the role of being a woman which is socially constructed? No?
The only true freedom is in Jesus Christ.
Shut up!
:)

I enjoy the pace and speaking. Keeps my attention.
Why so angry?
Vi Isaac ~ I never felt anger from her video. She came across serious & very focused to me, but smiled a couple times too.
