I just can't get enough of this video. She's amazing! It's so soothing to hear someone I can identify with voicing my feelings about mainstream minimalism. I just don't fit it. It's not about aesthetics , it's not about looking cool or modern on social media. We need to live practically, with authenticity and identity.

When the subject of color is injected into such a broad general topic such as minimalism then we have truly failed as a society. Do the objects of our focus on minimalism care what color we are? Would a minimalist organize differently depending on what color they are? Propaganda is extremely subtle and I hope that I am not, too subtle. Free yourself and be color blind because the art of minimalism just doesn't care.

I blame it on Democratic propaganda that teaches people of color to look for wisdom only from those who look like themselves. This is the definition of racism and mass programming. How utterly disappointed Martin Luther King Jr would be. Before reading a self-help book should we validate the author by checking his/her photograph in the back, before we read the content? Should people who are of mixed race disassociate themselves with the race they least prefer or embrace themselves as a fully developed person who has value to others based on values rather than heritage? Is a tree in the winter without leaves any less of a tree? Does it not have strength and a foundation and can it not stand against the wind and rain? What kind of world will we leave our children if we so quickly forget the wisdom of Martin Luther King Jr

    • @LuckyGuu

Either change the Democrat Party from the inside to be color blind or join the Republican Party and improve it where it needs to be improved. We as people cannot live as we are, we are created by God and thus should be color blind. When your light bulb burns out, do you not replace it quickly so you can walk in the light rather than to stumble in the dark? Go boldly forward and do not believe lies just because they are repeated over and over. We love you, take my hand as I take yours, the future of our country awaits us

I have always wanted to live a minimal life, but it's difficult when you live with your family who doesn't share the same view. After living in poverty for a long time, there's a mentality to keep everything as it might be used in the future. So my mother tend to hoard a lot, and I've gotten to a lot of argument with my family about cleaning up, tidying, organizing, and disposing things, and they think I'm just being sensitive or whatever. It's frustrating. And in my country, it's also difficult to dispose things because there's no proper waste system in the community. Everyday i watch videos about tiny houses and minimalism vlogs for stress reliever because i CANNOT stand this house anymore. they're okay with it because it's liveable and the other factors don't matter to them.

Daniel have you looked at UA-cam posts regarding The Highly Sensitive Person book by Elaine N Aron, she explains that highly sensitive people find too much stuff overstimulating and therefore stressful, it has helped me. All you can do at the moment is curate your own stuff and personal space however small in this home, that’s what I do

    • @danielk9422
      @danielk9422 4 роки тому +1

@@jodavb Thank you for your suggestion. Though i have read an article before that this response may have something to do with being too emotional or highly sensitive, yet it doesn't sit right with me that this way of living is "correct", therefore i always look for solution. I have tried to curate my own space, but once i left my room and go to kitchen or bathroom or somewhere else, that frustration comes up again. And that feeling bottling up in you doesn't feel good. *sigh* it kinda sucks sometimes being aware of these kind of things lol.

Yes, yes Christine, I love, love, love you and your style of minimalism !
I can relate to you for these are my sentiments exactly.
I have admitted that I have too much stuff many years ago.
I have downsized and as an empty nester I strive to have even less.
My biggest struggle is with clothing and paper.
I am working on decluttering both now.I am on a journey towards minimalism.
Minimalism is trending now with the younger generations.
There is nothing new about minimalism other than it's terminology.
Many of our ancestors practiced it mostly due to necessity but others because they appreciated what they had, cared for it and loved it, keeping things for a lifetime and passing it on to family.
In recent decades with the advent of the industrial revolution and assembly lines quality went down and we were sold a bill of goods that newer and latest is better and many fell into the keeping up with the Joneses trap and putting on appearances.
    Best wishes!

    Thank you...from a resistant minimalist.
I have a lot of stuff. I'm an artist and a "maker." I never know what I might need that thing for, and that other thing over there, well... it's useful for the pure calorie-free joy it inspires!
But you remind me that I *could* be more intentional. Less acquisitive. Do I really *need* that new painter's pallette knife to mix makeup in my hand, to get it just right? No...I already have one. I should just bring it upstairs from the studio and use that one--and *experiment* with how useful it is for that purpose. And *then* I can decide whether a different size or shape might be better, if I still need one at all.
In the kitchen, do I really *need* a single-purpose nut chopper? Probably not. Besides, where would I put it?
