There are always people who want to say these scammers are victims of circumstance and they are no other options. Nonsense. Just google "call center jobs" and a name of of a big Indian city and you get back hundreds of listings. These scammers are criminals and not victims of the system.
I reported a scam to Delhi Police, they didn't do anything and closed my complaint in a couple of months. The whole Indian police system is so incompetent and corrupt. It won't be a big deal if they might be getting some commission from fraudsters each month.

I mean I was once figuring out something with Microsoft and they connected to my computer. With a bunch of agreements etc., but it was legit Microsoft, I connected them from the Windows 10 in-build support option. I am good with computers myself, but it was a kind of strange thing with notifications we were figuring out. You can also have an additional store warranty for your device, and they can help you remotely as well. So as for the advice to never allow anyone to remotely control your computer I would disagree. You can do that, but just if you're certain those people are legit.

I was always interested in IT, so I learned very early on about such scams. While I was still living with them, it was never a problem. But when I moved out, the first thing I did, was to call me if anything wrong was with computers. In the last 10 years, I only got 3 calls about it. 1 was about a similar scam with virus popup. And from talking with them about it later on, it appears my mothers co-worker also had a similar scam appear on her computer, and my mother told her it was a scam, as she was about ready to call in for "help". I was proud of her about that one.

Hey, I am from Rajasthan. I think you can tag Jaipur Police On Twitter regarding the whole issue. I don't know of many cases but once a foreign tourist tagged Jaipur police on Twitter about how he was bullied by a group of people while being in Jaipur. He posted the video too and Jaipur police caught all of them within i think 2 days or less and you have more info too. Hope this works. :)

It appears Compiko has given their “business” tons of fake reviews to trick people into thinking they’re trustworthy. I suggest everyone screw up this scam as as much as possible whether it be giving them one star, prank calling them, or reporting them.
Just a note: Saying stuff like this in the comments of a video as a response to something in the video can get the whole channel in trouble. Scammer.info is a better place to rally and organize against scammers. Doing it here can only cause issues for Jim, and I know none of us want that.

Imagine getting charged more than what that computer is worth to fix a non existent problem which can be evaded by opening task manager and force closing the browser (and that's if you don't get the "prevent this page from creating any more dialogues" option presented to you!)

One of our tech guys is from India and he hates these scammers with a passion and call them names I will never repeat in public. They are making it very hard for real indian tech people to be trusted and sometimes it even hinders them from getting jobs. I just got an email threatening me to send them a very oddly specific number of money in Bitcoin or they’d tell my (8) friends (very specific about that number of friends as well for some reason) that I was watching an “adult porn” website. If I had been a few years younger/more naive this would have really freaked me out, despite never having watched pornography, much less going out of my way to find a website. They also told me they hacked my webcam and saw me, which is hilarious considering I keep my laptop camera taped up and I don’t have a separate webcam. Thanks for doing what you do because without your channel I would have been super spooked and not have realized how ridiculous those people are :) I’m just gonna let that email go to junk, they told me “don’t bother telling the authorities because they won’t be able to track this back to me because the email is hacks as well”
I got a similar email as well. I'm not a minor (I'm 19), but it still scared me out of my mind. Eventually after having a severe panic attack, I realized that it was a scam and deleted it.

Excellent work! This sort of thing is very much needed. I have a friend who was scammed at least 3 times over the past few years for between $250 and $300 each time. They just recently (last week) got with this fake popup again and took my advice to not give these people their money again. I was always interested in IT, so I learned very early on about such scams. While I was still living with them, it was never a problem. But when I moved out, the first thing I did, was to call me if anything wrong was with computers. In the last 10 years, I only got 3 calls about it. 1 was about a similar scam with virus popup. And from talking with them about it later on, it appears my mothers co-worker also had a similar scam appear on her computer, and my mother told her it was a scam, as she was about ready to call in for "help". I was proud of her about that one.

Hey, I am from Rajasthan. I think you can tag Jaipur Police On Twitter regarding the whole issue. I don't know of many cases but once a foreign tourist tagged Jaipur police on Twitter about how he was bullied by a group of people while being in Jaipur. He posted the video too and Jaipur police caught all of them within i think 2 days or less and you have more info too. Hope this works. :)

One of our tech guys is from India and he hates these scammers with a passion and call them names I will never repeat in public. They are making it very hard for real indian tech people to be trusted and sometimes it even hinders them from getting jobs. Jim I’m glad I found your channel, apparently these people are also targeting minors. I just got an email threatening me to send them a very oddly specific number of money in Bitcoin or they’d tell my (8) friends (very specific about that number of friends as well for some reason) that I was watching an “adult porn” website. If I had been a few years younger/more naive this would have really freaked me out, despite never having watched pornography, much less going out of my way to find a website. They also told me they hacked my webcam and saw me, which is hilarious considering I keep my laptop camera taped up and I don’t have a separate webcam. Thanks for doing what you do because without your channel I would have been super spooked and not have realized how ridiculous those people are :)

I got a similar email as well. I'm not a minor (I'm 19), but it still scared me out of my mind. Eventually after having a severe panic attack, I realized that it was a scam and deleted it.

Also got one of these emails about a couple of months back. It was so long I couldn't be bothered to read it all. Basically threatening that they knew I regularly viewed porn websites (I don't and never have), had access to all my personal information etc, blah, blah, blah! I just pressed delete. Not had another one of those emails since, although I guess it's just a matter of time.
I got one of those, not as a minor, and I never replied or said anything, I thought it would be hilarious for my friends to receive a random video of me watching porn 😂😂😂
The way the scammer pronounced "Dedham"...I'm from Massachusetts and that made my skin crawl.
I'm Canadian but I used to travel to the Boston area on business and once stayed at a hotel in Dedham so I picked up on that right away: it's pronounced DEAD-um, not deed-um. Any local would know that but someone who'd never been closer than Delhi would not.
I'm from Massachusetts too, and people who have never been here fuck up the name of almost every town in the state for some reason. I've heard someone pronounce Taunton like it was one of those creatures on planet hoth from star wars.

Bcs Whatsapp in India is heart of communication since so long, and you can report such cases to Cyber Police of India they're the ones who solve such cases, if you report them to Police they'll just ignore bcs lot of them don't even know basic English

That’s how phones work hahaha. If you have there number. Keep in mind ceo is simply a title/position. You would probably be surprised how easy it is to get people on the phone. Most ceo don’t even have personal assistants or secretaries.

Excellent work! This sort of thing is very much needed. I have a friend who was scammed at least 3 times over the past few years for between $250 and $300 each time. They just recently (last week) got with this fake popup again and took my advice to not give these people their money again. I've shared this video with them so that they can maybe really understand what I was trying to explain. Thank you for your work!

Wouldn't be cool if there was like an anti-scam scam group, where they use the same tactics as scammers, but once the victim calls them, they inform them that this is just a scam and they should be more wary in the future.
Bring back outlaw rules and let them loose to the wolves.
