As a 2 time Breast Cancer survivor i know exactly how weak&vulnerable that woman mustve felt. The Chemo & Radiation can make you so weak you don't have energy to go to court. The situation wouldve caused her to worry. It's sad someone in such a vulnerable state prefered to pay rather then stress. Those scammers are pure Evil.Im so glad Mr Browning was there to intervene God Bless him🤞🏼🙏🏽❤️.That call was really triggering for me🥺😢💔
Thanks again Jim, another one to save people. My father had a stroke and was unfortunately left vulnerable and ended up getting scammed £1,000.00 however have been showing him your videos to make him more aware.
I literally cried when the lady talked about her cancer and how she’s not doing well in her retirement. Just heartbreaking and thank you Jim and every other scambaiter.
The scammer actually showed some degree of humanity with her after that... Effectively asking her she could spare it. If the answer was no, I wonder if he would've bailed.
same here i have a disabled father and tbh if he had to go through this and thought it was true i surely would loose my father he mentaly wouldnt be able to handle a situation like this can we get a gofundme started for her @jim???
@@eddraper (sorry this reply is so long after yours lol) I have one anecdotal example of this. I lived with a woman in her late sixties for about a year who was like a second mother to me. She'd been through a lot medically: she already had a painful bad back, and one day she fell against a sharp corner on a piece of furniture and it jabbed her in the side, later she'd find out that it had caused a traumatic injury to the bottom of her lung, and her body went haywire over the next several days trying to heal it, but she became septic. She had hospital anxiety so waited until she felt like she was literally dying to finally agree to go to the ER, and dying she was indeed. She lost consciousness getting into the car, awoke briefly once in the hospital, only long enough to realize what was happening before lapsing into a coma. She was fully comatose for a month, but she remembers so much, including horrific abuse she suffered at the hands of an absolute troglodyte of a male nurse who resented having to take care of her while she had no control of herself. She heard and felt everything. She awoke with significant brain damage and had to learn to walk and talk all over again, it took a very long time, and her brain didn't ever fully recover, so she continued having memory loss, confusion, general slowness, etc plus everything she'd been through caused her such mental anguish that her heart couldn't handle the anxiety, she started going into v-fib and other scary types of arrhythmia, she never knew if she was having a panic attack or a heart attack, and her brain wasn't helping because it wouldn't let her think clearly about it. ANYWAY, aaaaaalllllll of this info leading up to my story I'm telling you, the day the scammer called her. It was the USA tax scam. She knew absolutely nothing about scam calls or the IRS in general -- and as Jim put it, a guilty victim is more likely to comply... she owed back taxes because she'd been in a friggin coma, and then she just... forgot. For a couple years. It wasn't her fault. These scumbags called her up and said they were sending police in 45 minutes unless she paid $X.xx with her credit card. She didn't have the money and never would -- and since she realized as soon as they said she owed unpaid taxes, that she actually DID, she absolutely panicked. She started sobbing and I was downstairs, and I heard her crying and thudding down the stairs at an alarming rate for a woman with a walking cane. She breathlessly told me what they'd said, and keep in mind that they can hear all of this. She tells me her chest is tight, she feels like this is it, she's finally having a heart attack, she's going to die, help me Summer, what are you going to do if I die, I haven't added you to my will and you need me, etc -- she was losing it. I gestured for her to give me her phone, I muted our end, and I told her the IRS doesn't call people. They send mail. I asked her if the caller had an accent. Her eyes lit up. "How did you know that?" I sat her down and quickly told her it wasn't real, nobody was coming to our home, nobody was arresting her, they are just trying to rob you blind. Once I had her calm enough to ensure me that she didn't think she was actually having a heart attack, I told her I was going to talk to the scammer, we were going to test his limits and punish him accordingly. I unmuted the call and told the man that I was her daughter, that my mother was waiting for the ambulance because she had a bad heart and he'd scared her into an emergency situation. It was basically, "oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that. Do you know where she keeps her wallet?" I wish I were kidding. I told him that we were facing extremely expensive medical bills if she survived this event. And he did the bit where he "talked to the super-wiser about her situation" and came back with a "compromise" if she could pay an entire, like, 75% of the original amount immediately. 🙄 I told him flatly that we'd starve to death. He said "oh. Sorry." And then a long silence. ".....is it a Visa or Mastercard?" I am just glad I remembered that it was her phone I was holding before I could chuck it out the window. I was furious. These people have no souls, no remorse. No concern for people's lives. From what I understand, a lot of them truly believe that ALL Americans are rich, and that if an American claims they can't afford the scam, they're lying. But I don't know if they truly believe that, or if it's what they tell themselves to justify their "job." Anyway, so, I spent about 45 minutes of that idiot's life being the most insufferable victim on earth, giving him fake card numbers pretending I couldn't quite read them, I was dyslexic, oops my bad, hold on, I dropped it under the fridge, I can't quite reach it.... shoot, I'll try another, let me find it.... gosh darn, it's expired, let me move the fridge then...**fake grunting noises** ... got it! Should we start over? I'll start over. Etc. Once he really started swearing and yelling at me, I calmly asked him where the police were, to which he snapped "what the hell are you talking about police!" I said "well you promised they'd pick her up in 45 minutes, and it's been over an hour... I'm just wondering if I should keep waiting for the ambulance? Or will the police get here first and they can take her to the hospital? Or maybe they can just bring the coroner since you probably killed her anyway..." and that was the moment -- mom couldn't hold it in anymore and scammer could hear her burst of laughter in the background, finally giving us away. Apparently he's going to find us and kill us both and do unspeakable things to both our corpses, but it's been several years and I'm still waiting. 🤔😛 Despite the cutthroat nature of these scammers, I hope you got some enjoyment from my long as heck story. 😂 it's an interesting memory, for sure -- I'm just glad she was okay in the end, that I wasted that jerk's time, and that I was able to educate her on scams before I finally moved out so she was able to defend herself better after that. 👍🏼 making sure our elderly and vulnerable people are aware of these scams is so important.
I know some scammers don't want to be scammers but really don't have many options in the way of making money which is not an excuse, it does make me feel better knowing that they still have at least an ounce of humanity and morality in them. Even if they are dirty douchebags who still continue with the scam. It's still gives a little hope that there's still good, even if it's a tiny ounce, left in these people
"And after today, I know it's not your fault, but it's worse now...". This brought tears to my eyes. But also a deep, burning anger. Thanks Jim for working to stop people like this and their scams.
This here is GREAT coverage of the Symptom, BUT what about the IRS itself? It and it's Issues were just recently well covered by 'Some More News'. Please watch as a Supplement to this video here.
The scamming of that woman is just absolutely awful. Cancer treatment can often cause congnitive dysfunction. The fact they almost succeeded is horrible. Good on you Jim Browning for stopping it and shutting down that call centre! I hope that your name haunts every single one of those scammers minds.
Ik bro, imagine how many people have lost money and maybe died if they can’t afford cancer treatment because of getting scammed (if they are in America)
@@UA-cam.Pigeon Dude, there's no need to a racist moron here. Imagine if everyone based their opinions of white people on a few right-wing terrorists, or of black people on a few high-profile criminals. The world would be an even more awful place to live.
It's called Chemo-brain and it sucks. At one point I forgot my wife's name while I was talking to her. I was sure I knew her but could not figure out who she was or how I knew her. I'm a lot better after 5 years or so but I still do not trust my memory.
'I was diagnosed with cancer, so my retirement didn't start well....I know its not your fault but its worse now' What a pure person, i just hope she recovered
the scammer talking to the lady with cancer sounds like he's genuinely wrestling with guilt over what he's about to do at first, and that the break he had to take to "discuss" the issue may have been to panic and decide what to do. I almost feel sorry for him because he knows what he is doing is wrong, but the moral thing would be not to even be doing this in the first place. Poor Mrs. Evans, I cried listening to her talk about her situation and how bad her retirement has been so far. I hope she gets well soon and has a long and very happy retirement 😭
i thought he might havve been asking his manager/boss/whatever if they really should scam a cancer patient, but yeah the guilt was audible i hope he didnt sleep that night
Absolutely. But shouldn't that also open your mind to how sick and corrupt your own government is? They treat you like shit and don't care if you're terminally ill or not. If you don't have money They don't care. So who is worse? Your corrupt politicians or some slum dwellers from Mumbai?
We were sadly too late and found out after he passed my stroke survivor uncle had given thousands to scams. I hate these people so much, they took a man who had almost nothing and did their best to bleed him dry. Thank you for your work sir
Sorry to hear about your uncle. I'd like to think that these videos might have some impact, but I'm working on a project that just might have a bigger impact than just shutting down one scam call centre. Watch out for the next video.
@@JimBrowning Bless you, Jim. Honestly, you are like an angel for those you are able to help and for inspiring others to do the same. I do my best to waste as much of the scammers time as I can when they call me and I get them all - IRS, Amazon, credit card, car warranty, etc. I even got the fake "grandma, I'm in trouble" scam once (totally insulting - I don't even HAVE grandchildren!). I also spread the word about scams to others in the neighborhood and encourage them to share their experiences and to talk about the current scams going around to vulnerable people they know. If we all spend some of our time doing this, I hope we can eventually dry up their revenue stream. Honestly, I wish our governments would put more pressure on the Indian government to shut down these scam centers. It is infuriating that we send money to help their country when they have people there stealing millions of dollars (or pounds) from our citizens. As much as we can do, they could do so much more to stop this. Keep up the good fight!

I got scammed out of my whole paycheck when I was 21. They are so heartless and convincing. I was so sad and if it wasn’t for my family, honestly I probably would’ve ended my life. They don’t understand how devastating this is to some people
My sister's in her twenties and just lost her entire bank account savings and ssn to scammers posing as federal marshals who isolated her and claimed that she was under investigation for serious charges possibly due to stolen identity. She's had a hard time these last few years and the part I was most worried about after the fact was not the money (although the financial loss was tough) but her mental wellbeing. Thankfully she's pulling through fine and she's got a good support network, but the toll is still damaging. It makes me furious knowing that if this had happened even a year ago she might not be here anymore - the consequences of scammers are more than financial, and it's disgusting how many people assume it's the victim's fault
Well I’m so happy you had your family there for support and you didn’t take your life! We can all be grateful for these videos and UA-camrs fighting against the scum of the earth.
@@winterlantern5695 Dude I've seen some trolls before but this comment is on a different level. You'd fit right in with the scammer team over in India. I feel sorry for your family.
During the attempted scam of the lady with cancer, I was actually sitting here saying to myself out loud, "please call her", my brother had two battles with cancer and luckily he beat it both times and is now living a normal and healthy life. I love everything you do and what everyone in the scambaiting world does, never ever stop doing your work. On a side note, if that lady had lost any money to the scammers, I would have quite happily donated to her, I don't have much money, but I do have a heart, I would have given what I could. I genuinely feel emotional typing this comment, Thank you Jim.

In the same boat financially but I would donate to as well. My dad had three types of cancer. It's a rough time. No need for anyone going through this scam at any point let alone when when they are sick. Heartless people running these scams.
So true 😭 I’ve only just left my job on the phones for HMRC and even though we do ring out in cases of debt, if you miss our call the debt management direct line provided in the voicemail still has a good 15-20 min wait at-least
Jim, you're a treasure. The air was quite blue here as I listened to that woman being scammed. Your intervention with her was very heart-warming. We used to get several landline scam callers a week - mostly faux-BT and faux-Microsoft. Used to enjoy taking up their time with subtle word salad responses. Enjoyed the idea I was reducing their daily haul just a little.
I'm 74, have dementia, live alone, no family, in the US, and watch these type videos to try to protect myself. But I have to admit it depresses me about my future security to know these people are stalking people like myself. I never answer the phone unless my caller id identifies the source as someone I already know. I don't have much income and I can't afford to lose any. I have to be frugal as it is. My computer was a gift to me and it's pretty old.
I hope you’ll consider reaching out to others in your age group to help educate them on the risks and scams out there bc coming from another demographic it’s difficult to communicate these things to older folks sometimes- I’ve found that older people often want to brush it off and not discuss the details bc maybe they are embarrassed? Or because I just don’t speak in the language that makes them comfortable or feel empowered enough to get into it more, but the problem is if you get scammed once your likelihood of getting scammed again will go up _exponentially_ after that, so it’s best to talk about it and prepare for the next one. So I hope you feel up for reaching out to people and sharing your wisdom with people that need jt! If not, maybe at least connect through local groups on fb or Reddit and virtually educate your peers?I hope you feel empowered to do so, and if not, it’s still an accomplishment that you’re educating and protecting yourself. U da man
I felt like crying when that poor woman told the scammers she had cancer. It's so good to hear Jim talking to her. We all need to tell all our aged relatives about the scams.
When the guy told the cancer patient to wait so he could check something I genuinely, for a second, had hope that he'd developed a tiny shred of conscience but nope, abused it to make his script seem more genuine. Thanks Jim for all your work
Just to play devils advocate here. Even though these guys are scum. Is it not just a reflection of a terrible economy? Surely you can have a better life working for an insurance company making thousands of calls a day. What im saying is why is india on it so much?
Jim, I doubt you’ll see this, but thank you for all the videos over the years. It’s because of you that I got into scambaiting myself. I hope that one day I can help victims the way that you have.
Thank you, Jim, for saving her. My heart was breaking. It was also interesting to hear that scammer sound genuinely distressed for scamming her but did it anyway for "half price". What a scumbag. You could feel him having his doubts but did it anyway. Shameful.
I've had similar cold calls in the Netherlands. The funny part is that these scammers always start the conversation in English while English is not an official language in the Netherlands, the real authorities will always start the conversation in Dutch.
Yeah it's the same thing here in Quebec, Canada where the government must speak both French and English. We are protected from most scam since people realize fairly quickly that the scammer don't speak in French so it can't be the government.
All of these scammers are absolute scum, my mother had a similar call not long ago. She came to me asking if it was legit and of course, it wasn't. They purposely target the vulnerable and that makes me sick. It's a shame India don't do more to stop these monsters from operating. As always Jim, you are a living legend and I know you get this a lot but thanks for everything you do.
Oh they are absolute scum of the Earth all right and they do it in so many ways. My only experience with scammers myself were emails from an apparent Nigerian Price. I had a bit of fun stringing them along as long as I could. The other was those popups whilst surfing the internet claiming that my computer had been badly compromised either by hackers or computer viruses and that I needed to call the number on the popup immediately to prevent something bad happening to my computer. I didn’t actually know that it was a scam for quite some time but never fell for it. Mostly because I first encountered it on a school computer in the IT class so I ignored it since they weren’t my computers. When it happened at home I was a bit confused because I had a fully protected computer with the very latest security package that had everything from antiviruses to firewalls so I knew it was highly unlikely that my computer had a virus or had been hacked or compromised. It did get me to do another scan of my computer to check for any signs of anything compromised or infected but there was nothing to find. And besides that warning my computer just kept functioning normally, so I didn’t believe the popup’s warning that soon my computer would stop working unless I called the phone number to get it sorted. As far as my experience of attempted scams being tried on me goes, it’s quite limited. But actually I might be targeted for a scam right now and over the last couple weeks or so. I keep getting called on my phone by a number that seems to be coming from London. They also only actually have called outside of normal working hours, usually either in evening or during weekends including Sundays. What’s odd is that they never left a voicemail. The other problem is that my phone says this number/call is coming from London. The problem with that is I have nothing to do with London. I haven’t been in London or near it for a tad over 20 years. I only know one person who lives there already has my number and I his. I don’t have any business there. And the one time I did answer the phone without speaking there was also silence until they hung up. So I think it’s a scam call. Finally on my list of different experiences of scams was a catfish one and one of my best friends very nearby felt victim to it. Because we’re also work colleagues we usually arrive at the building half an hour before our shift and sit in the cafeteria to chat. One day she came in happier than usual and told me that she’d met a new friend online and that she liked him. At first it seemed like a good thing for her, especially since I’ve made friends online myself. My friend also said that her new friend really seemed to understand her, had many similar beliefs, interests and whatnot. I think the first red flag for me was when she told me that her new buddy was an American soldier currently being deployed to some far away country. I knew catsish scammers often pretend to be an American soldier, sometimes pulling up a random image of a soldier from the depth of the internet. So I went and told her that I think she was being set up and prepared to be scammed out of her money and took her through all the steps of how the scam works. I know her enough to know that she didn’t quite believe me though she kept it in mind. But then, of course, a few weeks later her new friend spun one of the typical tactics to try to get her money. He claimed that his very young nephew had a terrible accident, that the boy got hit by a speeding car and an ambulance took him straight to the hospital. But the boy had some very serious wounds and was taken to surgery to have the life saving treatment. But now he didn’t have enough money to cover the cost of all the medical treatments so could she lend him a sizable chunk of money to help his son and promising to repay him later. And so it was turning out just like I’d predicted, even down to the kinds of sob stories designed bto get the victim to give him money. Naturally my friend immediately cut all contact with the catfish scammer.

Basically correct - but not entirely. I went through a bad patch and really let my small business go to hell. My employees got paid but I was a mile behind on PAYE - passing their income tax and our joint NI on to HMRC. And yes, HMRC phoned me out of the blue - and carried on harassing me practically every day after, as well as fining me £100 for each DAY that I hadn't sorted it out and filled in the returns (yes, they could actually do that). It made me, thank God, get professional help with the business (and actually for me, as well.)

If anyone calls you about any of these things don't believe it no matter how convincing it sounds. I heard one of these calls where the victim was also ill and they used them admitting that very fact to pressure them even more by saying that if they don't pay their back taxes, they won't be eligible for NHS coverage either. That's how despicable these people are. Luckily, someone like Jim was listening in and called this person while they were on the phone with the scammer and told them what was happening. If I recall correctly, Jim has done this in the past too.
" if they don't pay their back taxes, they won't be eligible for NHS coverage either...." SSHHHHH!!! Don't give our present government ideas. If Pritti Patel or that Braverman women hear you, it'll be official government policy by the end of the week.
I'm surprised people in the UK would fall for this. HMRC will always contact you by letter. Assuming you're an employee of a company (and not self-employed), the company is responsible for making the relevant tax deductions and paying HMRC. If HMRC are going to take anyone to court, it would be the company for not paying the correct taxes not the employee. It's sad that the vulnerable are always the big target.
That's the way this technique works: they call person after person until they find someone who is not quite savvy enough-whether because they are ill or just vulnerable-to catch on to their scam, then they wring every penny they can out of the poor victim and move on to the next 🤬
Yeah it doesn't really make any sense unless you run your own business but a lot of these scams don't really operate on logic, they operate on fear and social engineering the victim into not thinking about what's being said. Laws are always changing though so I suppose the older generation might feel like it's something that passed them by.
I feel like India's call centre sector should be sanctioned internationally, preventing any company from working with an Indian call centre until the country does more to combat these monsters...
There are half a million Indian citizens who work at call centres. They handle roughly 60% of the worlds customer service requirements. How many are scammers do you think? American weaponry is often found in the hands of terrorists, should the world sanction American arms manufacturers for that? Don’t allow your disdain for a few to influence your judgement of the many.
@@prithvi24 and how many billions of dollars are stolen? How many innocent lives are utterly destroyed? Maybe that's the sort of pressure that's needed to wipe out the scammers once and for all - to have the rage of their kinsmen against them.

What I like about your style of scam prevention is that it is mostly successful and we don't have to endure listening to coarse language from scammers unlike other scambaiters do. Thumbs up for your good work.

13:31 breaks my heart because I lost my aunt to cancer in 2014. This makes me so angry that scammers go after the most vulnerable among us. It sickens me.
I LOVED the part when the first "victim" told them to "f**k off". I got one the other day about "irregularities" in two accounts I don't have. I pressed 1 so I could ask them why the Hell they were still ringing me up trying to rob me. They didn't like that!
We all know that the IRS will never make calls directly to taxpayers. But "offer in compromise" is a real settlement option that the IRS uses for late tax payments from taxpayers who are in financial distress.
Oh man, after seeing different scammers from different cities in my country, the time finally came that I witnessed something from my hometown: Mohali, is an otherwise just a very peaceful city with good people. These scammers are just totally despicable to witness.
that automated voicemail you shared came to my phone after my mum died. I was already in a weak state and had just forked out £2500 to pay for funeral costs and I was in my early 20's. I don't usually fall for scam calls but I was in such a vulnerable place and hearing "HMRC" threw me off and I was falling for their scam. they were so heartless speaking to me, even when I explained I just lost my mum a few days ago. luckily a family member caught wind of what was happening and managed to step in in time to stop it. So thank you for all of your work Jim. I share these videos with my family and friends and encourage them to do the same to raise awareness of these scam calls and so they can protect themselves.
Scamming people is disgusting. Scamming people who have cancer and are worried to the core about the length of life they have left, is beyond depraved. Good job once again Jim.
I’ve just found your channel and WOW, what you do is incredible 🙏🏾 I’ve had this exact tax scam call before… it was during March 2020 strangely, the phonecall was extremely intimidating, and I refused to give my details because I suspected it was a scam, to which the guy on the phone said “ok then well you will get arrested” … there is a special place in hell for these people.
I know this gets said a lot, but Jim you are doing important work here. The amount of in depth research is astonishing. I often point people to your channel when they've gotten a dodgy call. You are saving a lot of people from future grief.
i myself don't know a scammer but i assume alot of the scammers in India do it for the payment. Because India is a huge country i don't think it'll be easy to live without alot of money, the scammers just try to get money. Although it's sad how they do it.

In what seems a lifetime ago, I worked in HMRC in one of the contact centres. There was a scam email doing the rounds that was sent to people outside the U.K. (this was listed on the website and in those days they didn’t have emails going externally), saying you’ve won the lottery and need to pay some tax to receive your winnings, usually about 5k. An American rang and he explained to me that he wanted to know when he was going to get his winnings. I told him he had been scammed and to go to the local police, but he kept asking for his winnings. This went on for about ten minutes and he still wasn’t understanding what had happened. Finally I asked him if he had ever been to the U.K. and he said no. I then asked if he had ever played the lottery in the U.K. and he said no. I then asked why he thought he may have won a lottery he had never played in a country he had never visited. It went quiet for a bit and then he asked what he needed to do, and I said go the the police and report it using the HMRC website as part of the evidence.
@@MikyleY before that call I always thought people who got caught out by those ridiculous scam emails were pretty stupid, but I just felt sorry for him. He had built up his hopes on something so ridiculously implausible and just couldn’t see the reality of the situation and I needed to pretty much hit him hard with it to get through to him what he needed to do. Working their made me very distrustful as while it wasn’t common, every so often someone would try and get access to someone’s tax affairs
Hope is a hell of a drug. I remember one time when my mom mistakenly thought she had won the main prize in a legit scratch card. I was sceptical and wanted to verify the win, but she was just pacing around the house in euphoria for several minutes, refusing to let me check the card. It was not a winning card. She just misread it.
@@MikyleY It is SO true, I have seen people go to prison for "helping friends" with cashing fake travellers cheques and handing in their ID to do so. They are either lonely or stupid and just glad of the attention or being part of something.
Even after finding out that kind is low on funds, and has been diagnosed with cancer, he proceeds to push the scam after hearing "if I owe it, I'll just pay it" You can hear he cares, but he still proceeds. Unacceptable.
he got off the line after hearing about the cancer stuff so my guess is his boss was hovering over his shoulder and pushing him to proceed. they dont always have a fish on the line so I bet some even scummier lazy fuck is always paying attention to when someone's on the line for longer than a couple minutes to make adjustments and take over if needs be

As much I love to watch your videos, I have to mute or skip the videos when the scammers talk to their victims. The lack of empathy these monsters show, towards people who are clearly vulnerable, actually makes me sick to my stomach. Thank you so much Jim. After years of watching your videos I ended up catching a scammer who joined a discord group im in doing a fake donation and fake giveaway scam. I feel so glad to have watched your videos so I can help protect my friends from scams online.
Love you Jim! I'm so glad you were able to help that poor woman with cancer. Everytime I hear these scams it makes my blood boil. I think of my beloved grandmother and it enrages me to know that these people scam the most vulnerable members of our society.
Absolutely disgusting when they "act" like they care about the victim's health and empathize with the illness they are dealing with 🤬 Would love to have seen what they did/said when they saw your change to the script 🤣
Well this guys was feeling bad I can tell from his voice but the ones higher up would cut he’s balls and hang him or lock him up sometimes really messed up for helped a victim, so they do what the boss says and go with it and they convince themselves to keep scamming.
I love what you do. Honestly I think you’ve saved lives and are making a genuine difference. Every vulnerable person you save is potentially thousands of dollars kept out of the greedy wallets these demons are slaves to.
I had this, I baited them along and was supposed to pay £998 to bank account they gave me and I sent a screenshot of some not so polite Hindi words and the scammer went mad and hung up on me! 27 mins they were not scamming someone else.
Glad to see your work on mainstream TV in Australia (broadcast tonight on Ch 7 network). Glad to see your message brought to the masses - hope it makes an impact. Keep up the good work Jim
Working in tech support myself, this sort of behaviour absolutely floors me. The lady dealing with cancer hits a special nerve with me, absolutely abhorrent behaviour. Jim your content is invaluable and needs to be advertised to people all over the world.
I always tell people it is really difficult to be hacked and have someone put software to listen to you or hack your camera, etc. and it requires some top notch tech power to be able to pull it off and as a tech employee of 20 years i would not be able to directly control a random computer on the other side of the world easily. Jim makes it look like its easy like the movies, its very impressive. The calls, the callcenter CC videos, everything.
Unfortunately that is not necessarily the case as there is some software scammers can have you download to take remote control of your computer. If you search it up on YT it’s fairly common. I do agree that he makes many things look easy and simple when they are anything but
@@mikebolton4257 Usually that's because the scammer convinces the victim to download it themselves. Jim is able to force his way onto the scammers' computers.
Sad thing about them using the wrong information like badge numbers and saying they're officers etc, is that serves to filter out all but the most vulnerable early. It makes me get more calls (return calls especially) but I always talk to scam callers as long as I can, just to waste their time a bit. There's little we can do to do anything about these scammers, but I figure this is what I can do, and the time they waste talking to me, they aren't scamming a real mark, and that's a win in my book
Jim...you have a fan page on FB and there are scammers on there. I almost got scammed, I reported the number. Thank you for helping the UK lady, you're a super hero.

Despite the cutthroat nature of these scammers, I hope you got some enjoyment from my long as heck story.

I've had similar cold calls in the Netherlands. The funny part is that these scammers always start the conversation in English while English is not an official language in the Netherlands, the real authorities will always start the conversation in Dutch.
Ook zo'n leuke: kreeg een week of twee geleden een telefoontje, "this is the justice department" **drukt op Ophangen**

Of course Indian authorities don't do more to stop these scams; they bring money into the economy. They don't give a damn what happens to the victims.

It can be a generation thing. It's up to the likes of you to educate the older generation because there are some real scumbags out there.
Everyone can fall for a scam
Theres nothing about this that sounds legit.
Agree. I'd hate to see what they're stealing from companies who outsource there.
We should boycot and sanction companies that use India's corrupt call center sector. This problem is not going away, it's only getting worse.
There are half a million Indian citizens who work at call centres. They handle roughly 60% of the worlds customer service requirements. How many are scammers do you think?

The calls, the callcenter CC videos, everything.
we are lucky, hes using is knowledge for good.
2:25 "no..." made me burst out laughing like nothing has in weeks
I love how you call people being scammed. Makes me feel like Batman is out there watching our backs 😂
Don’t forget that impersonating officers, including tax officers are an offense in all countries for obvious reasons
Way to go, Jim. I’ve been following you four years and you just get better and better. Thank you for fighting back these scammers.
This here is GREAT coverage
of the Symptom,
BUT what about the IRS itself?
It and it's Issues were just recently well covered by 'Some More News'.
Jim...you have a fan page on FB and there are scammers on there. I almost got scammed, I reported the number. Thank you for helping the UK lady, you're a super hero.
Videos like this should be appearing on everybody's recommend viewing.
Great work again Jim and wishing all the best for a speedy recovery for Mrs Evans.
Keep going, Jim 🙏

Funny that when I start binge watching other "anti-scammer" channels, because I've already watched all of Jim's vids, he turns up! Perfect timing.
I stopped the video when the lady was speaking about her cancer issue. I broke down. I can't believe it. Then I checked it till the end then boom Jim Browning stepped in and saved the day. Please continue.... Bless you Jim.
As I watched this video I got more and more depressed that these loathsome thieves were going to succeed in stealing from this poor lady. Thank Gog for Jim - you saved her. What a legend you are. Keep up this wonderful work and Godspeed !
Hey Jim, I just watched the CBC broadcast which featured some of the work you do. It was nice to see you involved with something like that, and getting mainstream recognition for the great work you do.
