  • Here is a walkaround video of my build to date. This is the first year of the TRD Pro model Tacoma and only around 1200 were built. There are a lot of finer details & mods that I may have missed, but this video captures the majority of the build. This is a purpose built truck with no nonsense mods, and of course no stickers! Nice & clean just how I like all of my builds.

    Very nice build. I really like the purpose built mods and how you focused on pure function. Way too many guys build flashy or “hey look at me” trucks. Yours is great!!

    This is a very slick build. I love the whole overland/rock crawl look, but in my neck of the woods it's at a 0.. mainly just mud (at times) and sand. I'd still like to build an prerunner look on mine but as of now It's "alright" lol

    With such a stealth build. I was waiting to hear which route you took for the regear? Im sure you've put some thought into that.
    Noticed the exhaust tail pipe delete. Just picked up a longbox exhaust from a takeoff in the buy/sell. Made it fit my short box on the weekend. I love all the cheap OEM parts one can get to keep these trucks running. Mines an 06 TRD Sport Manuel.

      I actually haven’t regeared yet. I’m still looking into which route I want to go, but for now the tune and cam gears help a lot!

    Love the build! Been following your build on Instagram for quite some time now and just love the attention to detail and effort you put into it while keeping a more oem+ aesthetic. Definitely a nice change in comparison of all the full bro-overlander style build you now see everywhere.

    Such an awesome truck! Do you ever rub your inner fender well when wheel is turned and stuffed? I am on 35s and I rub inner fender well when wheel is turned and stuffed. Watching your video I do not see any marks indicating you're rubbing. From looking at a few of your videos it looks like you do go Wheeling but I know for me personally unless I am at full stuff and wheels turned it won't rub. Maybe you haven't tried?

      Thanks! I do rub at full lock and full stuff, but these wheels have a really aggressive stance.

      @gio.rodriguez , nice! I do as well with 35/12.50/17 -38 offset. Last week I took a sledgehammer to my Fender wells. And now no more rub

    I recently went with 35” tires no re gear till I save up, but my question is how was your transmission getting hot? Was it from off-roading or just cruising your truck. Btw awesome build

    How's your transmission and mpg holding up with those tires? I'm running 265 75r16 Nittos with a 3 inch lift and getting 17 avg mpg. Nice looking truck.

      My mpgs are 13mpg combined city/hwy driving and the trans is doing just fine. The trans cooler and line heat shields dropped the temps 25°

    Any more details about your tune? Not a lot of folks tuning 2nd Gens. Also, what about gearing for the 35’s?

      It was tuned with hp tuners, but the guy that did it remote tunes exclusively for overland tailor tuning now. It’s currently on the stock 3.73 gears and does ok

      Unfortunately I do not plan on doing a video about the fender trim. There is a lot of info out there, but I do it my own way with some custom tooling.

    what was the cost to machine bead locks to all 4 wheels?

      The price varies based off options that you can choose to do when you spec out the job, but I’d say around $1400-$1700 for 4 wheels.

    I have a white V6 with a 6-inch lift and 35's it's white with all black wheels and emblems. It looks so similar to this it's not even funny

      Thanks man! They change the position of the seat for lower back support. In my option it makes a big difference in long trips.

      I got the seat jackers for both seats with the molle rack, and 1/2” rear spacers for both front seats 👍🏻 Very worth it imo. They provide great lower back support for long trips

    how do the dirt logic shocks hold up vs. something like kings or foxes

      I love them! The coilovers have been on since 2018 and I’ve only changed the lower bearings once. Stainless steel bodies are easy to maintain, and the 650 springs can support the front winch setup without issue.

      It took me 11 months to get them and send them out to get beadlocked lol. I'll be keeping them for ever!

    Did you viper cut your front bumper ? Or were you able to buy it that way

      I trimmed the bumper significantly from stock, but I didn’t do a viper cut. Im not a huge fan of the way they look.

    With the HP tuner, did you do all the tuning yourself? Is there the ability to have a remote tune done or upload someone else's tune for the same build?

      My tune was done specifically for this truck with the mods and tire size in mind, but the tuner only tunes through OTT now.

      Thank you! It does have a pretty aggressive chop, but it does still rub on it a little bit at full lock.
