Simple but delicious is very appropriate to describe our food. Next time when you visit Tainan, you can try 土魠魚羹麵、碗糕、春捲, these are also delicious!!

My ex girlfriend used to make a mean beef soup. Beef cartilage, beef, scallions, shaved ginger along with clear noodles and little seasoning. She was Cambodian. Love your channels Mike, keep up the great work!

There's plenty of milkfish in the Philippines. It's locally called ba-ngus and it's our national fish. I love to grill it, dunk the belly in shrimp paste and eat it with rice. I love your videos!

So glad you enjoyed the food in Tainan. As a local here in Tainan, the lamb place you tried is good but it isn’t the best place I would recommend to my friends. The best place to have lamb soup in Tainan is called 包成羊肉. This place will blow your mind. They open at around 5am and the food is often sold out at around 9am. That’s how good it is. And right next to 包成羊肉, there’s a place that sells milkfish soup called 阿堂鹹粥, which is also really popular here. Another place to have Tainan style beef hot pot is called 劉家莊. Best beef hot pot ever! Definitely try their beef meatballs. If you ever come back to Tainan, you could try these places. I promise you won’t regret it.

A local Taiwanese, and a little late to the party here, but Mike - I recommend you to try turkey on rice in Chiayi. They were originated from there and every single stand/restaurant that serves it in Chiayi is just mind-blowing. I dont wanna say that the turkey rice in Tainan is bad, there are plenty of good ones out there too, but trust me, the ones in Chiayi are way more delicious and they have absolutely different taste than the one you ate. Layzee Nguyen - Yep. Pple who like hot food really live for that sensation. My grandpa, a Tennesean, put hot sauce on everything he ate. He just shook it across his plate: the veggies, starches, meats and beans. Only his drink and dessert remained unscathed.
