I lived in Kunming for 2 years. (The capital of the Yunnan Province.) This video brings back so many memories. The people there are so lovely (for the most part). The street food was endless. There are so many ethnic minorities with distinct cuisines that there was always something new to try. The babas were among my favorite things to eat.
Any time I feel like my day is not all that great, I just open UA-cam and become full of joy of the contagious positive energy and life enjoyment of Mark. Thanks my man. You make a lot of people happy. Keep doing what you're doing. Regards to your beautiful family.

Asian food to me is among the best out there, everything has so much flavor. Delicious sauces, different textures, choice of ingredients. And I only had Asian food in US, I can only imagine how wonderful the food is at the actual location.

I remember China is where all this food journey began back in 8 years, where you had some bioled vegetables and a plate of Dumpling(jiao zi) I believe in Yunnan or nearby provinces, but I coundn't find that video anymore. So glad you came back to China again with Ying and Mika where you can spend your entire life to explore, there is just so much to try!

This was one of the best Vlogs you've made. Amazing food, plus great courage to eat the raw pork since your system is not use to it. In my travels to the region I always ate everything presented, regardless of how unusual it was as I never wanted to offend anyone. My rule of thumb is if the locals eat it so can I.

AnaisKarim uh, no. That is not how that works. Vinegar pepper sauce does not kill the larvae, which will hatch/colonize your intestines. There's bacteria, then there's parasites. When eating raw meats, parasites is usually the big concern. If they can survive the hostile gastric acid of your stomach which is acidic enough to literally dissolve a nail then theres no way a little vinegar pepper sauce is gonna do anything.

Just say it's a parasitic round worm that is passed from raw/undercooked that is contaminated with larvae that can make you very sick. Larvae will lodge in skeletal muscle, which you can see is a problem, you'll get all types of joint pains and myalgias. As well as the overall sickness (fever, vomiting, diarrhea) from the eosinophilia.

Wonderful location with a Chef guide. I have never eaten raw pork, intriguing, I would definitely need sauce. Cute baby Micah is very talkative in this video. Noodles and rice didn't take over the meals. The berry yogurt dessert looked not to sweet, I like that.

As a Chinese, I respect their custom of eating raw pork, as you can see, the people living there, they are minority ethic, 15:33 they don’t speak China, they have their own characters , that is different from Chinese, so the culture in there is very original and unique, outsiders shouldn’t intervene but respect, as a YunNaner living in Europe, i saw French people eat snail and goose liver(food gras), Swiss people eat dogs and cats, Iceland people eat sharks, finish eat reindeer, Norwegian eat seals. Jack1215Jack last April I went to Chengdu & Juzhaigou. For the food, we just dont really like the spice. Have different kind of spicy taste that not suit us, I think.😂😂 But overall we satisfied with other foods & happy because we can find halal food there.

In Germany, there is a raw pork spread called Met. You spread it on broechen and top with raw sliced onions. I add a bit of Maggi sauce to mine. It's soooo lecker (yummy/delicious).

Sure maybe if you in some western country where worm threat is absolute eredicated, but you in some rural areas where you dont even know how the condition of the pig is raised. Dali is one of my most favorite place in China. Not only just the environment but also the people and the food for me. It's just amazing.

Thank you for posting this, Mark. That looks so delicious. Have you ever been to Macau? I went there a few years ago and it was awesome. I ate the Portuguese egg tarts and they were yummy. I went to the Boa Mesa Macau Restaurant and it was excellent.

Jack1215Jack last April I went to Chengdu & Juzhaigou. For the food, we just dont really like the spice. Have different kind of spicy taste that not suit us, I think.😂😂 But overall we satisfied with other foods & happy because we can find halal food there.

In Germany, there is a raw pork spread called Met. You spread it on broechen and top with raw sliced onions. I add a bit of Maggi sauce to mine. It's soooo lecker (yummy/delicious).

Pork sashimi from some backwater market. This is absolutely too dangerous even for the more adventurous soul out there. Sure maybe if you in some western country where worm threat is absolute eredicated, but you in some rural areas where you dont even know how the condition of the pig is raised. I really hope you didnt catch anything out of this, but be carefull.
