Hi Mike and other food lovers, as a Vietnamese I have a special tip for you. Next time you go to a Pho restaurant you should order a side small bowl of rare beef. In there you have a poached egg, meatballs, rare beef slices, scallions, cilantro depending on the restaurant you go to. Add just few of the herbs and black pepper to it but don't add the hot sauce and black sauce yet. Make sure you ask for few ginger slices to put in your bowl. Now you can taste it and add other condiments to like. This bowl is pretty much just normal bowl of Pho but without the noodle, however the favor is much more intense. It's the best way to kick the hangover from the night before, I guarantee.
Didn't know you were in Vietnam! I'm a Canadian, living here in Hanoi. So many good things to try. Hope you have a Hanoi video coming up because there are so many great local specialties here as well. As far as your condiment selection goes: that's what it's there for! One of the best parts of Vietnamese noodle dishes is that there are so many condiments that you can personalize your bowl exactly to your tastes. One thing that's tough to get used to coming from North America, is definitely the dog thing. There are dogs tied up all over the place. Sometimes they are "guard dogs", but sometimes it seems like for no reason. And they sit there all day. It's a bit sad for sure. I wanna take em' all home!

Yesssss, at first i thought that u would eat at pho Quynh only (not my fav at all, it tastes quite mediocre and bland, and it’s kinda touristy), i was kinda dissapointed when you ate there, becuz Vietnam has way more to offer when it comes to Pho, but then you blew my freaking mind when you ate at Pho Phu Vuong (all time fav Pho in Saigon), that’s what real authentic Southern Pho tastes like!. Overall, i really like the video, and i will always support you!!!. Thank you for coming to Vietnam!!
Hi, I have watched a couple of videos in your Vietnam food series, just want to say that you have done a great job. I think you are funny and I love the way you show your excitement and appreciation to the cuisine. So thanks and well done! :D
How to tell Mark Weins enjoyed his food- He closes his eyes...says mmmm and tilts his head right. How to tell Mike Chen enjoyed his food- Orders another bowl🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 lol
It looks so delicious, a great video! I always do the same - adding everything spicy and sour available on the table. If you like Vietnamese cuisine, come to Prague as it has a huge Vietnamese community with lots of restaurants and even a little Hanoi.
Mike is the perfect mix of food critic/ comic ! Wouldn't be surprised to see him on his own FOOD-NETWORK or Travel Channel show in the future. ... Thanks for the laughs and making me hungry Mike.
Mike, you have to try pho in Hanoi. That's where the dish originally from. It's a northern traditional food. It's migrated to the south in 1954. And man you sure can eat. Watching your videos made me salivate from beginning to end.
The original Pho from Hanoi is unfortunately not as good as the Southern! It's true... the best Pho is in Saigon/Ho Chi Minh!!! I lived once in Hanoi. Henrietta, maybe you should come to South Vietnam to get the many variants of delicious foods?!
You've inspired me to go eat some homemade makeshift pho tomorrow lol. I miss America and gigantic bowls of pho. Being overseas in the military just makes you homesick.
I love Vietnamese food; am viet born American btw :) But I’m just going to go confront it; eating dog meat in Vietnam is very rare, especially in the south. Many people, if asked if they eat it, will laugh and shrug it off in a manner than shows they feel a bit uncomfortable about the topic, but that the topic is prevalent enough that it’s not a huge thing. As great as Vietnam is, there are often dogs chained up outside like the one in the video, and it always makes me so sad, and ill just cry when I spot it. It makes me so sad; they don’t view it as animal abuse though; they actually love their dogs very much, but... I remember there was a Vietnamese police officer who had a puppy. It was black with a brown tummy, muzzle, and eyebrows; looked very cute! I think it was a Pomeranian. He would often buy meat/chicken/vegetables/ etc for the dog to eat after ripping it up tiny, and when he had ice cream from the nearby store, the dog always got a lick. He was always outside of my uncle’s motorbike dealership with his dog sleeping on the chair he’d bring with him; if not, on his lap or under the chair. Hope he’s still doing well! I actually saw him again the last time I went, but we drove past him..! :’(
To the tune of Jingle Bells: Pho Pho Pho Pho Pho Pho Eating Pho today Oh what fun it is to eat A huge bowl of that Pho hey Pho Pho Pho Pho Pho Pho Eating Pho today Yes please I'd like another bowl I'm Mikey and I'm not shy, HEY!! Everybody.....!! 💙 💙

My Vietnamese ex-girlfriend used to make me pho, in addition to many other authentic Vietnamese food dishes… but the day she made me bun rieu completely changed me! I never learned her cooking technique for bun rieu unfortunately, but bun rieu for me is the benchmark of excellence!
Meanwhile, here in San Jose, CA., there are LOTS of great Vietnamese restaurants, but my three favourites-so far-are Pho Lovers, Pho Quien Noodle House, and Pho Kim Long (I love saying that one! 😂)… yet nowhere as delicious as the ex’s food!!!
those chewy noodles in the crab soup are heaven. I learned how to make my own bun bo hue at home and those noodles can be bought at your local asian grocery.
Im Vietnamese and I've been to the second place you went to and I got the rice platter there are it was amazing. I sat at the table you were sitting at when I was there

Whats the address for Pho Phu Vuong?

Phở Pasteur is way better
I’m Vietnamese but I haven’t been there for years so I only have homemade or America restaurant made

Hail thomas the great II yeah new name to you
Hi, I have watched a couple of videos in your Vietnam food series, just want to say that you have done a great job.
Mar Imdang lol
TRUE!!!
Lol well ya
But Mike also nodes and closes his eyes
It looks so delicious, a great video! I always do the same - adding everything spicy and sour available on the table. If you like Vietnamese cuisine, come to Prague as it has a huge Vietnamese community with lots of restaurants and even a little Hanoi.
Mike is the perfect mix of food critic/ comic ! Wouldn't be surprised to see him on his own FOOD-NETWORK or Travel Channel show in the future. ... Thanks for the laughs and making me hungry Mike.
I love your videos Mike you make my life so much better
Mike, you have to try pho in Hanoi. That's where the dish originally from. It's a northern traditional food. It's migrated to the south in 1954. And man you sure can eat. Watching your videos made me salivate from beginning to end.
The original Pho from Hanoi is unfortunately not as good as the Southern! It's true... the best Pho is in Saigon/Ho Chi Minh!!! I lived once in Hanoi. Henrietta, maybe you should come to South Vietnam to get the many variants of delicious foods?!
That vietnamese Harry Potter dude was really chill
Lol 😂
😂😂
Hahaha... he look like him indeed

You've inspired me to go eat some homemade makeshift pho tomorrow lol.
I miss America and gigantic bowls of pho. Being overseas in the military just makes you homesick.
Keenan Smith thank you for your service
Coming from a fellow serviceman, I totally get being away from what you crave. It will just make what you want so much better when you get home.
Thank you for your service
Keenan Smith My Grandfather (RIP), Father, Uncle (RIP) and myself have served and I pray for your safe return! God bless you sir!
Keenan Smith
Enjoy what you got while you have it...
Living abroad has advantages... unless you don't like those advantages.
Every bowl of noodle looked so delicious!!
I love Vietnamese food; am viet born American btw :)
But I’m just going to go confront it; eating dog meat in Vietnam is very rare, especially in the south.
To the tune of Jingle Bells:

Mike! I love your passion of food! And passion of all type of noodles. You make life so enjoyable to live! Thank you! Your vibe attracts your tribe.
Vietnamese food is incredible my mouth is watering right now.
This was truly your best video to date!!!!! Thanks!!!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE BANH CANH CUA!!! So glad you tried it
Couldn't walk away from that sweet puppy. Not in a million years.😭😭😭
I've tried some Vietnamese noodles in the U.S.but I could always eat more. I used to walk to get Vietnamese food, it's soooo good.
I would recommend a large bowl of Pho anytime you have a bad cold. It clears up the congestion. Repeat every day until the cold is completely gone.
Feel sad for the puppy
I am following many food vloggers who traveled to VN, but you are the only one who tried "banh tam bi". It is one of my all time favorite noodle snack. I'm so happy you're visiting VN. I will have an opportunity to go to VN in March. I cannot wait to have this dish again.
Bun bo hue
i like mark wien tried bánh tằm bì also
My Vietnamese ex-girlfriend used to make me pho, in addition to many other authentic Vietnamese food dishes… but the day she made me bun rieu completely changed me!
Yeah, you were probably one of the nicest persons that dog will ever meet. I can't blame it for wanting to follow you.
What are you trying to say about vietnamese people?
Are you Vietnamese or ever been there?
Both
I am Vietnamese and have been there multiple times.
Then I don't know why you ask me what I'm trying to say. Should be pretty clear from the dog's perspective.
I made lengua yesterday and the broth smelled just like pho!! I’m going to reserve it for pho later. Happy new year!
Did you make it into tacos?
Armando XO no. I made it with red sauce (chorizo, tomatoes, wine, olives).
Anikin Rodriguez I know. It melts in your mouth!! I will put up my lengua video soon.
oh man que riiiico!
*"Hello greatest thing ever"* 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I was smiling the whole time while watching this video! Great video Mikey and I hope to visit Vietnam soon as well!!
Never had Pho, unbelievably jealous right now.
You are MISSING OUT
Trust me when I tell you man. The first thing come to my mind when I go out to eat. Always think of Pho. You will love it man.
when you try it you will love it especially when u eat it during the cold season or when u a hangover
JustinDL97 you what…
I swear whenever Mikey talks to food, it's giving me new ways to talk to my partner.
😂😂😂
those chewy noodles in the crab soup are heaven. I learned how to make my own bun bo hue at home and those noodles can be bought at your local asian grocery.
