I think 32.15 oz is a kilo, yours was 32.42...so yepper you made it right on the dot.....0.27 oz. is not bad...after bar clean up you can get it to 0.20oz overage.
It comes off so you can flip it and use it as a plate to keel things from rolling off. You can also take it off completely and get it to read a little more weight.

Next time if there’s an issue couldn’t you put the pieces on top and use the blow torch in the middle of the bar to melt only a smaller area? I’ve never melted so I don’t know! Just asking :)
