In terms of fat representation - I want a character’s size to be a part of their physical description and part of who they are, but I don’t want it to be their entire personality. Like, their life and their story should be about more than just their body, potential insecurities they have, and discrimination they may face. What a concept! :P
I really appreciated that you mentioned TALL fat rep too, I'm not a big romance reader but I'm tempted to check out Brazen and the Beast just because I feel like I'm starving for heroines who take up space.
It is a great thing that you will need a part 2! I have found a bunch more as well. I also noticed representation in books more now that I was paying attention.
Gah I hate when the cover doesn't match the rep! I remember you talking about Who's That Earl before and it sounds like a fun genre mix! I also like the body confidence throughout the book version - or if there is an arc, I like it to be separate from the romance element. Of course I want the hero to find the heroine beautiful, but I don't love it when it feels like his attraction to the heroine is the catalyst for her loving herself. Side note but I also just would love to see more plain leads in romances in general! or most genres, really. I like when the book gives a description for the character that focuses more on what they actually look like instead of how stunningly good-looking they are. Or even describing the leads as plain! I like that. It makes the romance feel like it's based on more than physical attraction.
I want the cover to match the character. If the book describes the person as curvy or plus sized, that what I want to see. Not a stick thin cover model. I know it shouldn't but if the cover doesn't match the description o tend to give a lower rating for the book. If you yell me the character is darker skinned, I expect to see a cover model that is clearly Latino, black, Indian, or something along those lines. Not a person that's covered in tattoos but is most definitely not darker skinned.
Ok I’ve added wrapped to my list and I just got my hold on well played from the library, I did the audio for well met as well so I’m looking forward to it! Loved all the different ways you described fat main characters in this video 😊
I love that you include fat and plus size. I know not everyone is comfortable with fat. But we can at least make it normalized and make it less of a negative word ❤️

YES!!! We need the covers to match! And I'm with you on the body confidence thing. And plain leads! I like that there are a few.
I'm even more excited to read Spoiler Alert now. Thank you for all the curvy recommendations.
Yay!! Hope you enjoy it!
Misadventures of a Curvy Girl is one of the best MFM books I've read. The bedroom scenes were scorching 🥵. I love the audible version.
Nobody ever talks about Night play by Sherilyn Kenyon it's great

I'm with you! I would love to see the cover match the description.
Can't wait to read some of these--the Olvia Dade one especially.
So good!
Didn't know that there were books out there like this but I'm so glad to have this list!

I need to continue on with the Talia Hibbert Brown sister books. I’ve only read Chloe Brown and enjoyed it
You should!
When are we getting part two?
I love that you include fat and plus size. I know not everyone is comfortable with fat. But we can at least make it normalized and make it less of a negative word ❤️
Absolutely! I think retaking it as a neutral term is valuable.
I borrowed Spoiler Alert before I even watched this, and I could not be more excited to get into it.
So good!!
I picked up Spoiler Alert this weekend. Can’t wait to dive in.
YAY!! Hope you love it!
I put them all on my list, but I think some were not released here in Brazil :(
Thank you for these recombinations
Glad you like them!
There's J.T. Geissinger Melt For You and Amy Daws Blindsided.... what's your take on this 2?
Definitely adding the ones I haven't read to my TBR. If you like paranormal romance Milly Taiden has some good Fat rep
Good to know! Thank you.
If ONE TO WATCH wins the Romance Category , you're going to hear my shouting all over from Buenos Aires, Argentina haha
Ahh same!!!
Good about herself exactly what you said.
Yes!
The cover not matching the rep is my biggest bud bear in fat rep. Really annoys me!
Absolutely!
