I have an attic entrance in my garage that buts up against wall, was just going to build a stationary ladder mounted to wall. So glad I found this video this is a great idea.
Great to hear this.
I built this based on your instructions and filling in the gaps. Works and looks great! Cost $400 here in Bay Area ($355 for 18' doug fir stair treads, $20 1/2" pipe hardware, $15 for stain + poly, small cost for glue, brad nails...), and took 1 full day (from lumber selection to install). If I were to do it again, I'd purchase Dado stack to shorten time. Thanks Derek!
Fantastic! Always makes me smile when people take action. Thanks for sharing!
Great idea! Very practical, and a unique safety feature as well. One more Like, and another Subscriber. Look forward to looking over your prior videos, and to more in the future!
Thanks Kelin! Nice to meet you!
Nice ladder! I'd prefer my ladder (to a loft) to be removable/ detachable. The one where you can detach it and hang it on a side wall, then reattach when you need to go up the loft space. I've seen that type in tiny house tours. Cheers!
Yes, those ones are cool!
Great to hear! Glad it helps. No rail because this is just storrage space. If it was living space it would have a gaurd rail
Great idea and video. Do you have any recommendations for a comfortable width? I can imagine the wider the ladder the more flex you get in each step.
Thank you! 18" clear opening is what we use.
Thank you I found it :) this amazing
Glad it helped !
Great tutorial! New subscriber. Thanks!
Great to hear that this helped... and thanks for the sub! Those are hard to get these days with so much quality info out there.
Nice!
Thank you! Took some extra time for sure. For years I could never slow down enough to film what I was doing.
@@ThatADUGuy I totally understand. Is like a second job. Thank you for all your videos.
@@VillelaHN :) It is. My pleasure though. I figure in the long term it is faster than trying to explain a process over and over. Now we can just share a video. Tech!
Looks easy but I know mine will come out uneven somewhere 😂
:) It does not have to be perfect the first time. I have built dozens of them are never perfect.
How many pounds would you rate this for? How do you deal with liability with this kind of thing? Thanks! 😊
I would guess 350lbs. We require our tenants to carry renters insurance and then we also carry an additional policy coverage.
I'm building a quonset hut currently, and have a loft area that I'm going to use this ladder for. THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHARING! My only question is in regards to the railing? Do you not have to have a railing up there?
I hope you can make Mike Zuber’s 50K subscribers event in Las Vegas. I would like to meet you.
If he invites me I will be there for sure! I saw last night he was only around 800 away. I love the Zubtube!
Nice
Thanks for all the support!
