Twice a year, every year, during my twenties and a non vegan and smoked. I was really ill. Lasted for at least two weeks. Now plant based, non drinker or smoker for 13+ years and very rarely get ill. When I do it doesn't last and I don't suffer much. Even covid was only bad for a couple of days. I might milk it a little bit so my husband spoils me 😂

My allergy anecdote: my wife and I suffered with seasonal allergies almost year-round for decades. We both took a claratin generic daily and still suffered. After weaning 9 years ago, we both stopped getting allergies altogether, stopped taking the antihistamine, and were fine while other non-plant-based family members continue to suffer.

Gentlemen: as a retired farmer, I will have to protest as to your description of the use of manure in animal management. I would STRONGLY urge you to talk to some more farmers to learn that your presentation of how e-coli gets into food products is not accurate. Farming is not always a profitable occupation. Fertilizer (or the nitrogen needed for healthy plant growth) is either purchased from industrial plants who put the chemicals together or, from the beginning of time of food production, from the waste of animals. This waste is most often combined with the bedding upon which the animals were raised which dilutes it. Farmers who raise animals generally do so with the "recycling method" of returning the nutrients back into the soil from which they came.....the plants which the animals were fed. The method of returning manure to the fields is now a highly regulated process.....and also, not feasibly done while the crops are in production. Typically, manure is added to fields when the ground has been harvested and until the time the ground is frozen. Then Mother Nature has about 5 months to break down any bacteria one might be concerned about. The manure is most often incorporated into the soil to continue breaking down. Again, it is the ultimate example of recycling. Farmers are very aware of the costs of their production and make every choice that will prove to make their product better, safer, and cheaper for the consumer. If manure were not reapplied to the soil, fields would eventually drop in productivity dramatically, which would in turn increase the cost of food products. To suggest that a solution would be to not support animal agriculture is to "play God" with the natural cycle of life. Please be more aware of what you are stating as fact throughout agriculture and do some more research. State your facts about this industry as carefully as you state your nutritional facts. Nowadays hardly anything we do is according to nature.😅
Would not feeding cows chicken manure lessen chances of E.coli spreading?
Does temperature in all areas get low enough to breakdown E coli?

I respect farmers. I live next to a farm and see how hard they work and how multi-skilled they need to be. However I am against animal cruelty. Manure is just plant compost that has been through an animal first. I never put manure on my veggies, only decomposed plants. As far as the God reference, please be aware that (suppressed) bible scholarship indicates Jesus the Nazarene did not eat or kill animals. Be well.

I would think that if you can avoid buying produce that is already bagged up that would help because there often is water or moisture in the bags.preferably buy the produce loose as you would in a farmers market.

While living in India we were told to disinfect fruits and veggies with either vinegar water soak or bleach water soak. Obviously not all fruits and veg can endure this. I also used a pressure cooker to prepare meals.

I only had a flu jab once years ago before I turned to a natural way of thinking. I went blind in the chemist, couldn’t breath and ended up in hospital! Never, ever again with any of them.

I would love to know plant-based doctor's opinion. You are doing a great thing for your health by taking a natural way, eating healthy, exercising, getting rest/sleep!

Thank you. I would think and hope that an investigation into the recent E Coli outbreak on organic carrots would identify the source of the animal waste used as compost/manure for the carrots, and that the carrot grower would not used it again.

I'm 75 and in good health. Mostly WFPB. I very rarely got colds or the flu.
I got the covid 19 about a month ago and thought I was gonna die. Lucky no respiratory symptoms but I had a fever between 99 and 100 for about two weeks. Physically I felt like someone beat me up with a rubber hose. Aches all over and no appetite. Wonky sleep patterns. Up down up down. I was very very weak and I'm still dealing with that... I would not wish it on anybody... BTW I had all my Covid shots and followups... Uff what an ordeal.. Closest to dying I've ever been...

Sorry to hear it. Unfortunately there are no guarantees, whatever you do. However, it's very likely that you would have been affected more, if you had not been eating such a healthy diet.
