Saw this video and an hour later we were eating the most delicious japchae. Can't wait to try cooking this one pot meal in the woods on a hike, while collecting wild wood ear or mushrooms. Will soak the noodles and mix the sauce in advance.
Maangchi, you are amazing! This was delicious! I had to make a few changes though. I did not have brown sugar so I used regular sugar, I also didn’t have spinach and mushrooms so I used bell peppers, carrots, Koreans radish, enoki mushrooms and onion. My family was ready for dinner so I had to speed things up and so I used my instant pot on high pressure for 3 minutes. I was literally crossing my fingers the Japche wasn’t ruined and so...to my surprise....it turned out amazing! I loved it and my family loved it!!!! THANK YOU!!!
Cool idea to use the instant pot. But cooking this doesn't take that long either on a regular pot. 3 mins as compared to 10 minutes. But I guess it does make a difference to a hangry family. LOL
Maangchi, I heard you on the winter foods episode of The Splendid Table! You were talking about bone broth and all I could say was, the whole world knows her now! I have your first cookbook, and my cousin and I LOVE your channel!
I’m moving and basically have two pans and none of my mixing bowls with me so I tried this version and it turned out great! And all the flavors and textures are still there. I might actually even like it better than when I tried the Traditional way. Also I used beef instead of pork but it still works.
I have come across your video some years ago. I like the warm homely feel u give while cooking. Its like watching a mom cook while her kids wait in anticipation. And yes, you are becoming more and more beautiful every year. Thank you for these delicious cooking videos!
This is a wonderful way to making japchae. We love Korean food, and I've made this dish in the traditional way several times, which was time consuming. Tonight I made this in the layered way, wow it cuts down the prep time tremendously and it's less greasy too. Thank you for this tip!! I now can make this noodle for my family a little more often 😆😄
I'll be making Japchae the "Maagchi" way at the table the next time I have a dinner party. Thank you for the wonderful recipe suggestions and instructions!
I made it tonight for dinner together with kimchi soup. We all have to stay home as a result of Covid-19, this recipe was so easy to prepare for small family compared to the traditional way. Everyone love it, so colourful adding some comfort to all coping up at home. Thanks Maangchi!
I love you Maangchi. I just ordered your newest cookbook and I can't wait to get it and start cooking. I made Kimchi from your recipe and I love it - just wish I had added in more gochujang. That stuff tastes so good but its like eating gasoline, it is so hot. Your videos are terrific. Please never stop
I thank God every day for having a Super H Mart in Fairfax, VA USA where I shop exclusively and can cook everything on your cannel without issue. Life is good! Love you!! You are a true Hallyu star!!!
I bought the noodles after seeing your original japchae recipe over 2 years ago. Saw this easy version today, and just had to make it with the ingredients I had on hand. No spinach, so I used the greenest parts of a cabbage. No pork, but I had some fake meat that used with your same marinade, which was very tasty. This would even be an easy weeknight meal. I think you are the only cook that I've actually followed and made more than 3 or 4 recipes. I had never tried kimchi before making your recipe, it was great, and I shared it with friends that loved it too. Thank you.You are an amazing cook and teacher. Can't wait to try more of your recipes.
Hi, @Maangchi! I just sent my mom your newest cookbook as a Christmas gift! She has been interested in Korean food and cooking for a while, so I know she'll love it. Thank you so much for making wonderful cooking videos for everyone. I wish you and your loved ones all the best this holiday and new year!
Maangchi, my grandmother usually doesn't like foreign food. But, when I cooked japchae for my grandmother, she loved it. She even asked me to make other Korean dishes such as tteokboki, gimbab and of course kimchi, she really fell in love right away. My grandmother even called me "Dae Jang Geum" because of that. Big love from Indonesia ❤
I love your channel! I’ve used your recipes so many times! We used to live in Taegu and I miss all the wonderful food. On Friday nights, we had a tradition of going out for chicken and Hite beer. I loved the radishes served along side the chicken 🐓 🍗 🐔 ,
I made this last night for my family, but without mushrooms and we couldn’t buy glass noodles so we used normal egg noodles and it was so good, they loved it! Thanks Maangchi! Xx
She really reminds of me of my Mom. Japchae looks so similar to pancit stanghon here in the Philippines. My mom and I used to cook together during fiestas and holidays. We use a very large "kawali" (frying pan) and dapog (hearth) to cook lots of food for visitors. Miss those times.
Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦. So happy to have found your channel. My daughter lived in Paju Korea for a year teaching English. She mentioned a dish that was sesame leaves. 그래서 외국인 친구에게 소개해 줬어요 . 귀에 쏙쏙 박히는 스페셜 영어도 맘에 들어요 👍❤️❤️
Wonderful!
Wonderful!
Just made this and the whole family loved it! Thanks so much Maangchi you are heaven sent ❤
I thank God every day for having a Super H Mart in Fairfax, VA USA where I shop exclusively and can cook everything on your cannel without issue. Life is good! Love you!! You are a true Hallyu star!!!
victrola2007 I’m in NOVA too! I love all of the H-marts in the area. I’m going to be so sad when we move and I can’t go to h-mart anymore
H Mart has the best produce imo and mushrooms I've never seen!! 😎😍
Great! Continued good luck with your Korean cooking!

I hope she loves it! Cheers!
no one can replace her position as the best korean chef for me.
Big love from Indonesia ❤
yay! I'm so happy to hear that! Happy cooking! : )
Love that you’re open to trying new methods with traditional dishes!! Thank you!! 😍
Congratulations for your new book, fantastic way of teaching
쉽고 간단해서 외국인들도 금방 해먹겠어요. 감사합니다😃
I love your channel! I’ve used your recipes so many times! We used to live in Taegu and I miss all the wonderful food. On Friday nights, we had a tradition of going out for chicken and Hite beer. I loved the radishes served along side the chicken 🐓 🍗 🐔 ,
Ummm
I love this woman. Such an awesome human being.
I made this today and it came out so good!! My family loved it. Thank you Maangchi! Lots of love from Singapore
So glad!
Thanks for traduction 💙
한국 음식을 해외에 소개해 주셔서 좋네요!
응원합니다!
I made this last night for my family, but without mushrooms and we couldn’t buy glass noodles so we used normal egg noodles and it was so good, they loved it! Thanks Maangchi! Xx
Wonderful!
Yes!! Had to click as soon as I got the notification!! I love Maangchi!!!
망치님 보고 배워갑니다! 이런방법이 있었네요!

Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦. So happy to have found your channel.
My daughter lived in Paju Korea for a year teaching English. She mentioned a dish that was sesame leaves. She doesn't remember what it was called. She is vegan now and I love to cook for her and would like to surprise her with making this dish.
Thank you.
