    So happy you put this on your channel. I too am local but just a normal dude that doesn’t have a UA-cam channel. They even gave me a full tour!! Could not be nicer people. I hope they blow up.

    Seen these guys at the Expo west in Flagstaff and was real impressed by their product. I ordered one with the discount they had and it was at my door within a few days. It is a great little fire ban alternative! Glad I got one.

    Definitely makes sense with all the fire bans we have each year. I'll search out counties and national forests that don't have active bans. It can be a real pain. There's just something about a "real" fire though that I would miss with a gas fire. The "dancing" coals at the end of a fire might just be my favorite part. Smelling like smoke the rest of the trip, maybe not so much.

    I seen these at Overland West and did a video interview with them for my channel and never noticed you have to use a wrench to put the hose on . I assumed it was a quick disconnect like Ignik. I own the ignik and have to say if you want the look of a fire I think ignik is a better option for the price and flame view on the side of the box but if you want alot of flame and a hot flame for cooking the Lavabox is a better option. The Tembo tusk fire can is nice but Lavabox has them beat in the quick setup. You didn't get the new silver one? That one is sweet!! You need some silver and gold stuff and things !!😀

    Got mine about 6 weeks ago. Really like it. Still haven't tested how long it will last on a 5 lb tank, but will in a few weeks when I camp for 4 days.

    Seriously debating getting one of these now. High up front cost, but firewood bundles are like $10 and only last maybe 2 hours, not to mention, I gotta say I'll like the fact that I can just shut it off and won't have to wait for the embers to die down, and won't have to use my water to make sure the fire is dead.
    Also, with the point you brought up at the end, was camping last weekend, got below freezing, and the next morning we were waiting for quite a bit for the campfire to ignite and put out enough heat that we weren't shivering standing right next to it lol

    One of the things I really appreciate about your channel is the home grown solutions. I'm really big on local manufacturers - I like to be able to shake the hands of the folks that built the stuff. Your vids highlighting not only the products, but the companies too, are very helpful.
    Couple tidbits on propane:
    The main valve on the tank has an oring. No need to crank it down super tight to close it off. In the same regard, to be able to shut off quickly, opening the main valve only 1/4 turn makes it quick and easy to shut off. The regulator handles the pressure to the device, and shouldn't be affected by a partially open valve. Finally, LP is heavier than air and will puddle. The slow open lighting method you showed is perfect! (also explains the poof you got)
    Getting off my Hank Hill soapbox. Thank for sharing this stuff... Headed to the link in the description below... Now!

    Love this. I personally use a Trail fire. Comes with a grill and a wok and you can turn it into an oven. Slow cooked a tri tip on it and it turned out great.

    I have a camco little red campfire, it’s small and self contained with the hose inside when closed so u don’t have to carry it separately in another bag. Use mine often cuz most beaches where I live in California don’t allow u to burn wood 🔥 this is a good alternative

    • @Mypplz

      I’m debating between this lava box and the little red campfire. How do you like yours?

    • @anandjitsingh7598
      @anandjitsingh7598 7 місяців тому +1

      @@Mypplz the lavabox looks cool but I really enjoy the little red campfire because it’s self contained (the hose is wrapped inside) when fully closed. It’s well built and sturdy but not excessively heavy to carry. I use it at the beach regularly and people love it especially the rangers due to beach fire regulations.

      @@anandjitsingh7598 Thanks a lot for your feedback! Do you find it keeps you warm on chilly evenings?

    • @anandjitsingh7598
      @anandjitsingh7598 7 місяців тому

      @@Mypplz yeah it gets pretty warm and even when it’s windy I don’t have to worry about the flames going out. And with the adjuster you can really crank it up as desired.

    Want to buy one…just wished they offered a longer gas hose. 4ft is super short. 8-10ft would be much better.
