I mean no offence to the rest of the "crew", but when Adam drives he just does everything so proficiently. And he drives "anything". Nice to see Fitter Mat again.
When I was 31, me and my friends went for the pub. When Joe was 31, he and his friends went for the mud. Just brilliant, and Happy Birthday from Sweden!
Wishing you a belated Happy Birthday Joe. One of the few people on the internet today who is genuine and humble here's to many more years of antics with the crew.
many happy returns Mr Hewes!!! Hearing a Chieftain on full chat brought back a lot of happy memories. good to see the old girls out to play. Poor old Jack failing to finish!! Ah well!!🤣
My grandfather had to deliver the ARV's to a bog in germany to get a stuck M47 out of there. He unloaded the (i think it was a sherman ARV) and the second arv from another antar transport and they went to work. After ALOT of effort they got the M47 out of the slurry. They had just finished packing up the ARV's on the Antar as centurions from the BAOR pass trough and the lead centurion got stuck....on the exact same spot where they just pulled out the M47. The troop commander went "Well issent that bloody convinient! You Belgian lads have brought the ARV!"s" And thus......they repeated the process. When you play in the mud, do you check gearboxes afterwards? My bro, after a 3 years in infantry, switched to Motor Transport. One day, he left a tractor trailer near the water's edge and went looking for the harbormaster to find out where to drop the trailer (I think it had a mine-damaged truck on it). When he came to get his rig, he saw sailors pointing towards the water, laughing. That's when he saw his flashing lights underwater. He and his A driver spent several hours dragging an anchor chain to it to drag the lot out. Afterwards, he drained and replaced all the fluids, and the tractor never gave him a moment's trouble. Happy Birthday Joe.
The sounds of those engines at full song takes me back to Hohne and our squadron of Engineer variants. A dozen of these along with a bunch of 432's and CET's . All spewing clouds of diesel smoke. Laying bridges, fascines, dozing away obstacles. A great time! And so neat to see them back up and running :)
Happy Birthday Joe - The Tank Master! For someone who 31 you certainly have so much experience and a vast wealth of knowledge! Watching these videos that show what you do and are capable of, I think I can safely say, we're all thankful you upload them! Great photos at the end too.

Happy 31st! Hell of a party -- all those toys and all the room you need to play with them. No neighbours to complain about the noise, either. Thanks for sharing.
Are you kidding?? I used to live three miles from Bovingtons testing area and could hear these things as clear as day. Awesome sound. Great day Joe. Happy Birthday
I see that in order to have one tank, you need at least more, just in case! That was brilliant and fun to watch so 100% more to be there and Happy Birthday Mr H.
First off, sorry, didn't get notification of video going up. Happy birthday Joe for whenever is was. Then ... loved the whole birthday celebrations, look like you had a day and a half of it! Made me laugh all the way through, great time was had by all by the look of it! Really, really, really loved watching Adam and the Scammel, they have been one of my favourites for 60+ years and still love 'em. Thanks Joe for being who you are!
The Scammel Explorer is a beast, I witnessed a Scammel pull two Matadors out of a ditch, one got stuck so another tried pulling it out and also got stuck and along came the Scammel and pulled them both out together, awesome truck.
Happy birthday Mr Hewes reminds me of the stuff we did in the army got a m 60 stuck in an underground wash and got 2 other tanks stuck before the AFV came to rescue us good times man good times.
