    I’ve watch this now about 5 times as tomorrow I will be on my way to Glencoe to sleep over before I move on to Loch Linnhe for 3 weeks. I’ve decided to try and mirror image your rout if I can because saying I’m a newbie to this sort of thing is a massive understatement. Thank goodness there is a part two for me to live past part one lol. Thanks so much for sharing Donny I am sure these video’s will seriously help me. Ray K UK 🇬🇧 YNWA.

    Awesome. I operate a small open boat on the Columbia river in North America. Long runs in rough conditions, yahoo! My destinations pale in comparison, however. Excellent work filming/documenting. Amazing Scenery, seriously amazing. I'd say "the grass is always greener on the other side of the street" but in this case it actually is! good day

    Hi Donny, I'm grateful for the tips you give in all your videos, but especially about turning the boat against the wind, as side on would tip the boat over in those conditions. I am learning a lot from your videos as I am a novice to sibing. I purchased a 2.7 m SIB with a 5 hp Mercury 2-stroke before the covid lockdown, but I have not been out in it to test it out yet. Love you videos keep them coming Donny. 👍

      Thanks Ken.. I love my wee 2.75 Frib as you know..so very are very capable boats..just take things easy until you get used to yours..as they are still small for choppy waters ..thanks for your kind wrds on the videos

    Fantastic video Donny love to see you handle boat when choppy - just back from week in Oban & visiting friends in Taynuilt ( played the golf course) you are a lucky man enjoy 👍. On a trip to Appin whilst on single track road I was flagged down by half a dozen kayakers - I feared they were in trouble but turned out they had been beaten by inclement weather and were looking for landowners permission to camp thankfully - unfortunately I wasn’t land owner as it was idyllic spot opposite isle of Ericka

      @donnywilcox  2 роки тому

      Hi again ..part two now on line. Its always a good idea to ask permission to camp if there are houses near by. Most folks will happily agree assuming no mess is left. Generally, I follow our access code ..which keeps me well a way from others so no one to ask..but will ask if I see someone around.

    Wow ! Great adventure Donny ...though that wind gave me good soaking even in Loch Lomond when it hit the shallows 🤭
    I hate messy water and remembered why 😁 I’m on the edge of my seat dry as a bone looking forward to part two 😁👍

    Another fine video Donny. I visited the same ruin on the Morvern shore just a couple of days ago, taking a run down to Eignaig in my kayak (in much calmer conditions). Just to make you jealous, I got the bonus of a load of wild strawberries growing on the ruins. Tasty🙂 I know what you mean about the GoPro knocking the drama out of a decent sea - holding it down at sea level can help a bit, but then it constantly gets covered in spray. Looking forward to part 2!

    Thanks for great video. I watch your channel often. If I want to take a dinghy to the sea, do I need to have a license or insurance? I have the same engine, but the dinghy is a little longer.

    • @donnywilcox
      @donnywilcox  2 роки тому +1

      I Gregor.. In the UK you dont need a license or insurance to go to sea. If you boat in a busy place..insurance may be a good idea though..in case you have an accident with a third party.

      Thank You very much . In fact, You inspired me to buy an inflatable boat and an outboard engine. I have swam Loch Lomond this year. I'm going to repeat some of the tours in your movies. I really like what you are doing.

    How ironic I to experienced rough weather while Island camping in Lake Michigan with my 330 sib, 30+ mph wind 8 ft rollers forced to "side sea" the entire trip as taking the waves head on was swamping my boat (like your electric pump idea) I barely made the island after a harrowing 2 hour journey worthy of comparison to captain Bligh's adventures after being set adrift by Fletcher Christian, not much video survived as my camera was knocked off my head by an exploding white cap never the less I'll post what I can🤙💦💨😱

    • @donnywilcox
      @donnywilcox  2 роки тому

      Rather you than me being side on in 8ft waves in a 330 sib DMC ..thats beyond my comfort zone :-D

      I have a canopy with windows that would've kept most of the water out had It been installed I'd have had the time of my life, I found that the boat sort of "bob's" along like a cork in rough sea's without much fear of sinking, having pushed it this hard I'm really quite impressed with it's abilities thus far 🥰🤗
