    The current workaround for the remote turret is to select the deploy option, which moves it to the rear position. Once the turret has been " deployed" it should function like normal in either position. I am not positive, but I think "s" is the default hotkey for deploying. I love this line of ships and can't wait for my C-1.

    Spirit series really needs another S2 shield to mix it with other ships in its size/price range.

    I've been impressed by the light bomber in low level attacks. On another channel I've watched a combat oriented org put the A1 through its paces, practicing bombing against fixed bunkers and versus mobile AAA. It won in all of its encounters, which wasn't good for me since I own a full range of ground vehicles including a Ballista. Bombers will have a huge impact on player base building (pun intended).

    I definitely like the Crusader look. Probably won't pick one up since I don't feel like I need a bomber, but it's cool.

    Pretty sure I've seen the turret moving on the rails in other vids.

      It does and works in the free flight mode for sure. Tested it out last night.

    You can already move the turret. It's right on the console next to enter turret and you can also push the "s" button to move it while using it.

    There are some bounty missions where the ship spawns near a wreckage on the ground...I have completed bounties using the a1 by bombing the target. I think it's a great ship to fly, it has no redundancy in its systems....but when used right is actually quite good. Especially if it flies in a mixed group with escorts.

    Above each bunk there's an inventory stowage assessable to any on board.

    On the turret just hit deploy and it moves to the back. Then you can move it back to the front by hitting S on your keyboard. Then your free to fire it in any position.

    ive been flying it for about a week now as a loaner in place of the zues, its cool but wish i could trade the bomb racks in for some more space for my uses haha

    Wish there was more offensive utility here. The parallel bomb bays having a torpedo option and an ability to mix loads.

    Need even more agility/control and speed OR another shield.. (and better UI/less buggy bomb deployment) Not holding my breath, so I melted it.

    It's a bomber. Make sure you have star fighters to back up while running bombing runs.

    those two bunker style pod like bed, right behind pilot sit was a neat design, it took very good use of the space, balanced the functionality. UNLIKE DAMN freelancer..... freelancer's cockpit, pilot can only use like 20-25% of the bridge space, this spirit ship has a WAY better bridge design. 🙃 (this is a message from a MAX and Taurus owner's point of view, both of my ship needs some love from CIG 🥲)

    Turret works fine on my ship. I have the bombs not restocking and you can't load them manually.....

    So after fiddling with mine... You have to hit "deploy" and then get into the turret. Then you won't get that issue.

    Some of my critics; Bombs need to drop significantly faster, some of the capacitance from the upper turret could be moved to the pilot (like shave 50 off both guns and give 25 more to the pilot weapons), The missiles should just be torpedos I don't get putting missiles on a bomber. Bombs as a whole IMO need a re-work as the blast radius to size ratio when compared to real bombs as well as damage fall off from the center of the blast. Ex. If we compare the A2 (250m radius in game) to its real life counterpart MOAB (1.6 km radius) we are missing quite alot of destructive potential. Though this sounds extreme if we had damage fall off it could be easily balanced. Otherwise our sub size bombs will have such a small blast radius it would be questionable if they would even be useful outside of trying to kill anything outside of people given CIG likes to use exponential scaling for all the weapons instead of Logarithmic scaling which would be better for balancing given its natural tendency to plateau at the highest ends.

    What I think is a big miss here is the lack of downward vision from the cockpit in combination with the bomb type and orientation. The vertical orientation of the bombs suggests higher-altitude bombing from level flight (and even then there are significant penalties to accuracy due to bombs tumbling), while the lack of downward vision from the cockpit as well as retarded bombs suggest (very) low-altitude dive bombing. Current configuration just doesn't make sense... What kind of bombing runs is this for? This is not really suited for either, yet with just a couple tweaks it could be suited for both.
    The closest IRL counterparts for this I can think of are Soviet WW2 bombers Tupolev Tu-2 and Petlyakov Pe-2 (or German Messerschmitt Me 410, but that lacks bomb sights for level bombing), which have inernal bomb bay, forward-facing pilot-controlled guns and gunner(s) controlling defensive turret(s), yet no dedicated bombardier (or a position for gunner to serve as one) so the pilot is in charge of bombing. Defensive gunners stopped being a thing before retarded bombs became one...
    Also, it'd be great if the bomb retardation mechanism either did not open or opened to 180° (to act as stabilizer) if being dropped from high enough altitude to avoud blast.

    My thing is if the a1 has the remote turrent why doesnt the c1 if its suppose to compete with the black and the freelancer cause that bay doesnt seem to fit anything if you picture removing the bomb i dont think a roc will fit

    Forget turret problems. I just hopped back on yesterday after getting the a1 and I couldn't spawn it.

      I had the same issue with spawning it planet side. People in the local chat told me to get a smaller ship from the planet and fly to a space station. No issues getting the A1 from a station :)

    It's definitely limited in purpose, but I figured if I was to have a ship with this very limited purpose, I'm better off with an A1 over an A2, as the latter is a very expensive ship with limited purpose, to have in the hangar, and unless I was doing a lot of bombing, it's likely to gather a lot of dust.

    It seems like the C1 is DOA with the new Zeus release. A1 just drops bombs, cool for what it is.

      Zeus is in a class above the C1 price and size already reflects that and price will go up on Zeus. MSR would be more of a Crusader equivalent to the Zeus.

      @@CMDR-Ashtar Both classed as medium sized ships with similar roles. Very curious of what they will cost in PU. Also can't wait to see how the Cutty Blue and Zeus MR compare.

      ​@@njasicko Freelancer MAX is smaller than C1 and will cost less than the Zeus and carries only 8 less SCU. Admit it - the C1 Spirit, like all Crusader ships, are garbage.

      @@njasicko certainly not trying to argue as I'm am on the fence about both ships for the IAE. It just seems to me that the zeus is on another level then the C1. It's 12m longer and that's quite a bit when the C1 is only 35m long, the cargo zeus destroys the amount of cargo a c1 can carry. Zeus has 3 times more shields depending on variant, zeus has an extra crew member, and the Zeues is easily going to cost double the price once it's released. It's already $135 warbond and $150 new money, it will easily be worth over $200. C1 is $100. C1 is basically an upgraded starter the zeus is definitely not.

      Bunkers, derelicts, ghost hollow, JT, anti base building in future. Id enjoy seeing more missions that can be completed with a bomb.

    its a good lookin hallway with wings... but its a huge target with weak survivability... cant maneuver nearly as well as u might think... and has a top speed thats only 30m/s faster than the tug boat of the verse the srv... lol... its an L

    This is a big disappointment. While the E1 and A1 variants have a niche to fill, the C1 is just not a good ship. The cutlass has more missiles, a better regen pool, and better agility while boasting both the C1's tractor beam and the A1's turret. The freelancer is also just as maneuverable with twice the shields. On top of that, it has a huge cross section from the top.
    Basically, the C1 has a toilet and good looks and that is it. This thing needs either A: way better speed, maneuverability, or both or B: another shield or C: bigger guns. It's just not a good multirole ship in its current incarnation.
    Of course, the C1 could have a completely different flight profile than the A1.

    This ship is TOO fragile, it definitely needs another shield generator!
    I just spent 2 hours with it and it looks beautiful but as a fighter, it SUCKS as it is too slow and not maneuverable. Definitely NOT going to be using this for PVE, which sucks because it means this ship is only useful for bombing... but bombing just doesn't work atm....it's very glitchy.

    Those bombs suck. They're tumbling down which means they are aerodynamically unstable and inaccurate as all hell.

      They remind me of the engine array from the HWK-290, of Dark Forces (Star Wars) fame.
