As a band who has endured those circumstances and conditions in the past, in both Iran & Syria, we thank you for bringing attention to this important matter. Cheers!
My dad is from Iran and grew up in Iran before and after the revolution (1970's). When the Islamic Revolution happened, music (especially western music) was illegal, and alcohol was banned. My dad couldn't find a job, so he bootlegged alcohol, sold it, and bought bootleg Kiss/Scorpions/Aerosmith/Pink Floyd albums with it. Glad to see the metal scene is going strong in Iran
Well it's not going strong. You barely can find any good shit. 95% percent of the time it's the most generic shit you can ever hear (death metal and black metal).
I'm an Iranian Watching this video from Iran and I wanna appreciate the fact that you pointed out about these bands and the challenges they had to go through. So many of these musicians are my dear friends and I'm telling you our life is a stress hell 😂 people go listen to Persian metal bands and show them some support they are really working hard for their music . Hopefully one day it will be my turn as well 🤘🏻🖤

Years ago I've had the honour to interview Al-Namrood! Yeah, that was a very tricky thing to do, because both the label owner and the band needed to "hide" some data transfers from him to the band and vice versa. The best thing was receiving the interview (after TWO motnhs, damn) and seeing how passionate and also friendly the two guys have been in the way how they gave me the answers. So I buyed all their albums I missed since that day, plus I support every single release they still producing.
Dude, I live in the same town as Al namrood guys. They don't have balls actually, if they had they would go public or at least reveal their identities as many Saudis did who did blasphemy (and they got what they deserved). If really Al namrood believe in the lyrics they write then they are hypocrites because socially they go by Muslims. Anyway, they don't have balls because they do it secretly and no one knows their identities, and tye authorities here don't give a fuck what you're doing in your house, you can let your dog fuck you they don't give a shit as long as you don't go public, they won't spy on you. Grow up
I "love" how Varg Vikernes is a broken record when criticizing what he perceives as the decadence of the Western World, and yet, he is benefiting it from it since his late teens.
Great video Boris, I from Northern Ireland in 1993 my local council band ELO from the local football ground because they had a song Evil Woman. More power to all the bands that fly the flag for Metal in these oppressed countries.....................Satan laughed...................
Great video! I am also impressed by Voice of Baceprot from indonesia, they also have to overcome a lot of resistance, their song „god allow me (please) to play music“ hits me right in the feels, evertime
Been listening to Al Namrood for like 4 years at this point, no other band manages to make a bus ride feel as epic as them, except for few with a different vocalist, all songs are 10/10 bangers, never can go with some Al Namrood. To be clear, the different vocalist ain’t bad, just not as beastial sounding, so it doesn’t really match the music, would be fitting for a thrash or 1st wave black metal band instead.
Personally I love the mispronunciations. "Senten-said", "ask-ed", "list-end". And of course, the infamous "feet fingers". You're the best man, never change \m/
As much as I feel bad for these great talented guys from so strict religious countries I couldn't stop laughing at your comments & sounds effects during the video....man that was so cool . Cheers ( Satan) from the US Virgin Islands 🤘
I read Mark Le Vine's book "Heavy Metal Islam" years ago. My humble respect to the whole Middle East scene. The police here in Northern Europe doesn't cut your hair with a sheep scissors or tear your band shirt with a knife. Nor beat you or make threats towards your family because of the music you play. Making music under that pressure is the sign of true devotion. That's been said. Great video.
Well, my good sir, colour me flabbergasted, bewildered, not to mention befuddled, at the realization that the religion of peace would behave in such a deplorable manner. My ineptitude to envisage similar demeanor has left me clutching my pearls ☕🫖
From The Vastlands is another band from the middle eastern countries that got a slew of death threats on the members and their families,so they all moved to Norway. They have such an amazing black metal sound to them and their lyrics that were dubbed as satanic sounded like they were really about their paganism, they just celebrated the Persian Spring Equinox.
These bands all have balls of steel! Being openly against Islam can be dangerous anywhere in the world, as we've seen plenty of times. But doing that in countries where those crazies actually form the government is next level. I don't know if i could do that
i kinda expected al namrood to be first haha. Btw their music is amazing, listen to halak, xanophobia, sun of liberation and others, i bet you would like it.
Someone I used to talk to gave me a list of bands from the Middle East mostly demo tapes and stuff but they said there's a lot more in South America. I'll try digging out the conversations and sending them to you cos there's a lot lol. My grandparents were born in Alexandria in Egypt so I don't find "Satanic" music offensive 😂 it's crazy the punishment you can get in some countries for liking different music. Take NK for one...can you imagine if someone made some underground BM band 😬

I realy like those guys, and the singer wore Tshirt with our croatan red and white squares when our soccer team play and he even said couple of words in Croatia wich was so cool. Second, I love the shirt you are wwaring, Taake was playing in Zagreb last Tuesday with Nordjevil and Theotoxin. Metal fans have a hard time usually in countrys where religion is part of the national identity. This are mostly islamic countrys but also some christian (like Ireland or Russia). The main problem are not the authorities (I don't know of any case where someone was executed or imprisoned for being a member of a matal band) but the hostilities by the indoctrinated population. As a rule, religion is abused as an instrument of power in those cases.
the middle east blames America for Death Metal lol... We didn't even create the foundations of the Heavy Metal over here. Most tend to agree, Black Sabbath, Led Zepplin, even the Beatles, are any of these bands claiming to be from the United States? Even Punk-Rock is a stretch. metal attracts such loyal followings, i think its safe to say any of us who love it would die for it
Ironically, the judges speech about fire from their ears, throwing their meat to vultures, sounds like black metal lyrics 😂😂
