I met Glenn at a local bar where I grew up. Small town and was surprised when Deicide and Vital Remains played at our local watering hole. Was a killer show
Hi Boris! 🥰 Thanks for sharing these AWESOME moments! They will stay with us forever!!! At the Abbath concert in Leipzig on Feb.2nd, I was fortunate to have a picture with James McBain from Hellripper!!!!! 🔥🖤🔥 What a down to earth guy!!! So MEGA nice!!! He was at the merch before the show and also afterwards!!! I also got his autograph!!!! It is very much appreciated when the band members interact with the fans!!! Our hearts grow even bigger in size!!!🧡🖤🔥 Hope to see you at your next concert in Germany. 🧡🖤🧡 Big Hugs!!!!🤘🥰🤘
I got to meet Glen Benton in 92 in Toronto, and he was pretty cool to my friends and I and gave us tshirts, we were at school the next day and had to go to the principles office because a Christian teacher at the school freaked out. Because on the back of the shirts it said "to kill God and all that is holy"
Nice collection Boris ! Through the years I have foto with Mr Kai Hansen, Hellhammer, Galder, ICS Vortex, Guys from Voivod, Blind Guardian ( Metalcamp on the beach 🤘) Nergal, Dave Vincent in Vienna New Yorker Shop 😂 Kataklysm at McDonald ,Paul Masvidal,Sean Reinert ,Wormrot, Misanthrope and some more...all nice people ❤
Ralph was the best!!! I miss him everyday - we had a band that was supposed to do a record right before he passed - the demos still rule and I listen to them all the times ….maybe I’ll email it to you?
Saw Type O in Vegas in ‘08 and met Peter Steele. He asked “Why would someone come all the way from Chicago to see such a shitty band” I replied, I came to see Hatebreed😂 He then signed my photo of him, threw at me and said “I hope your flight is delayed on the way back to your crappy city” all with a big smile on his face lol
My cousin did some of Glen bentons tattoos and at the time i was the apprentice at this particular shop. Glen and steve ashiem walked in and we were blown away because our favorite fn band was deicide. Well they had a show that night at this venue literally walking distance from the shop we worked at, but we already had tickets n what not and were definitely going. But, the way glen benton acted towards us and our staff/employees/customers that were there at the time was unbelievably rude, ignorant and just completely and utterly dickish ASF..he kept on rolling his eyes every time someone would say something, he literally flat out said do NOT ask for autographs, pics or anything. And i think he might have said like three words the whole time they were there and they were there for at least three hrs or more. He pulled a switch blade on one of the customers for trying to shake his hand, and that alone was completely mind blowing. He did so many rude and disgusting things that day that it's too much to type in a UA-cam comment section. Bottom line is, glen benton from deicide is a fn dick and just a rude POS. Period. Did NOT like the guy one iota.. now steve on the other hand was incredibly cool ASF.. had lots to say and was polite, had manners, shook our hands, signed the wall at the shop, and me being a death metal drummer myself, we talked drums for at least two hrs. He was one of the nicest and coolest dudes you'll ever wanna meet, hands down, besides max cavelera. Anyway, that's my glen Benton story.. Lol.. great video Boris! Cheers my friend.. 🤘🥁🤘
Met Johnny Kelly, Sal Abruscato, Kyle Shutt from The Sword, Carnifex, Denzel Curry, Kelly Smith of Flotsam & Jetsam, smoked weed with Anvil, and Steve Adler. Nice dudes
I took a picture with Nocturnal Depression, Belphegor, Alexi Laiho, Amon Amarth, The Stone and Alcest. Wish it had been more. But still got all my Albums signed at the same time so still happy i had the chances.
I've been lucky enough to play with a lot of bands I like because I'm normally too awkward to actually approach anyone as a fan, haha. But I had a funny interaction with Dark Funeral when I played a festival they were on. My phone started ringing backstage and it was a call from my mother for whom I had the Moomins theme tune as a ringtone (she loves Moomins) and everyone in Dark Funeral turned around and looked and me and started laughing. It was a great ice breaker, they were all super cool.
I met a few also , we had a rehearsal room and the whole floor of other bands and it usually ends in big partys . For a few days, vital remains(benton singing)had to use the spot to practice, and we got really drunk . They had a good time and got a picture of a bunch of friends and vital remins, and in the middle is BENTON photo bombing by mooning the camera haha 😄
Cool vid Boris. Yeah, you never know what rock or metal musicians celebs will be like if you met them. Maybe they’re having a bad day or maybe they’re cool as hell just because that’s the way they are or want to promote their product. I’ve also heard the term before of “don’t meet your idols”, because you may not get the perception of what you thought they were? Anyway…
@@viking_nor Lemmy’s bass was the life blood of Motörhead. But other bands, it always washes out the articulation of the guitars. Also Boris, you must have pissed Jack Owen off successfully. He was an absolute sweetheart to me at montage music hall in Rochester NY when we briefly spoke about gear.

Everything you said about FleshGod apocalypse I can confirm. I saw them before they became huge, theyh came in Macedonia, and played in an open air venue. I was like 15 at the time and couldnt afford a ticket or anything. We were chilling out with friends and just talking when some foreigners started chatting with us. We were telling them how excited we are to HEAR fleshgod after finding them online, but how we can't afford to participate. Turns out those foreigners were fleshgod members. Now it was too long ago I can't recall who exactly, but it was 3 of them, and definitely not the bald guy, but they were super nice and friendly, apologized for not being able to get us in and gave us a shoutout while playing from the stage. We could hear it all from like 10 meters outside of the venue. They also sounded absolutely amazing and got a big fan for life in me that day. They told me to message them I believe on MySpace still, and they gave me an interview for a fanzine I was making with a friend.
I met Ozzy in HMV in Brum when he released his Scream album in 2010 and I cried after I shook his hand lol but we sadly couldn't take photos. Met Troy Donockley at a Steeleye Span gig by accident in York and got Maddy Prior to photograph us 😂 then I met him again when I saw Nightwish in London and the poor guy remembered me. Met Gaahl thanks to your video! Met Rotting Christ at Bloodstock and skipped the whole band just to talk to Sakis in Greek cos I'm a stupid fan girl and think I upset the rest of the band 😅😬 Met Attila from Powerwolf outside their gig in Brum and then did again at Bloodstock, also COF there. One of of the most recent ones was probably Beast in Black cos I wanted to speak Greek to Yannis 😅 Ian Watkins walked past me and my older sister before a gig in Brum and we were frozen in our tracks so it's lucky we didn't get any photos cos I was about 13/14 at the time 😬 One guy I'd really love to meet is Rob Halford 😩 Also, I like your natural hair colour and you're not fat! 🖤
