- In Landman, Cooper (played by Jacob Lofland ) and Ainsley Norris (played by Michelle Randolph) despise one another, but Taylor Sheridan's program hasn't explicitly stated why. There are a number of increasingly intense altercations among Landman's characters. Monty (Jon Hamm) and Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton) are always battling the day-to-day difficulties of the oil sector, and Tommy got into a new argument with Manuel (J.R. Villareal) at the end of Landman episode 6. However, the altercation between Ainsley and Cooper Norris is among the most perplexing in the series.
Although siblings argue frequently, Cooper and Ainsley appear to despise one another in a manner that goes much beyond a simple argument. Ainsley was so repulsed by Cooper during the family meal that she was made to hold his hand politely. The siblings only had more venom for one another when Cooper was in the hospital later. Cooper assured her that "there'll be plenty of chlamydia at the next one," as Ainsley was more worried about missing the patch party than Cooper's ailments. Landman hasn't given an explanation for why Cooper and Ainsley seem more like rivals than siblings.
Although Landman has hinted at the reason behind Cooper and Ainsley's animosity toward one another, there isn't a formal explanation. The main explanation is most likely that Cooper and Ainsley are very different individuals. Cooper is more like Tommy, a workaholic, while Ainsley is more like Angela, a party girl. Given Tommy and Angela's obvious relationship issues, it's easy to understand why Cooper and Ainsley don't get along as well. Regarding their parents, they also differ. Their divergent priorities are demonstrated by the fact that Cooper did not share Ainsley's desire to reunite Tommy and Angela.
