What a great episode. The dialogue on this show is elite. When Cooper came back inside with his rebuttal I had to rewind it, very satisfying and unexpected.
Anyone who thinks Rebecca has changed haven’t been paying attention. Everything that we know about her is meant to tell us that she is practically a prodigy, four years out of law school and already dealing with multi-billion dollar cases. Everything we know about her also tells us that she is, as Tommy describes her, a pit viper, which it is clear she would need to be to get where she is so fast. It also tells us that she always gets her way. People think she changed during the deposition, when in reality it was just that her attention was directed against a different company. She hates it when she doesn’t get her way. Her scenes in this episode show just how much she hates losing control, from her outburst at Cooper to her obvious frustration when Tommy asked to reschedule their meeting. I don’t think she will be going after Cooper, especially since he already resigned. I think she will be going after Tommy, which is what she was sent down there to do in the first place.
But not sure just assuming here I think her harsh approach(in the one v one chat) is what got cooper to say a million. Not sure if he’d have gone that high without her threats and intimidation.
She hasn't changed, it just was cool and bad ass when she was going against another company and scumbag lawyers. Now going against families for bereavement payments that same approach is not fun anymore haha.
Yes, she will go after Tommy but it would be stupid in reality. I'd imagine Tommy knows where all Rip's secrets and bodies are buried. Yet, with Rip sidelined, and the company being run by his wife, it could change where Rebecca focuses. Then again, she is terrified of real danger, remmeber the rattlesnake? Perhaps Angela is killed since she is doing nothing anyway? I found it interesting the "fate" remarks the governer used. Also they he knew Tommy.
And you are going to find out she works for who ever the e enemy is. The cartel? Oil companies don't pay $900 / hr for litigation they buy politicians for that .look where the national guard went
I think Monty will be the one whom dies. They’ve been hinting at it all season with heart pains. Also, I think Ainsley gets kidnapped and Tommy will have to get her back. Next 2 episodes will be crazy 💯
I thought Aynsley's new boyfriend was going to get shot in the water when they went to the beach. I don't think a main character is going to die, but maybe a supporting character.
I love Ariana and Cooper, I hope Taylor Sheridan gives them a happy ending…🫤 Ariana is such a great character, that dinner scene is epic. She is a woman who is comfortable being a wife and mom and does housework like cooking and cleaning BUT is also not going to take crap from anyone. She is going through grief now but will “let it be” and Cooper is nice enough to basically live as roommates for awhile before anything crazy happens. And now we see who Rebecca really is - she’s going from being hero to villain and even Monty is showing that isn’t as nice as you may think. This episode even had subtleties like the foreshadowing with what the governor says about predestination and things like the changes in lighting during and after the negotiation scene are a nice touch. Excellent episode, I was so far on the edge of my seat I thought I was going to fall off…
Rebecca not a villain, just fed up dealing with shit, imagine one of your bosses son now trying to hustle you for the same company, all because of some stupid babymama? Lol
@@WaldenBelfiorethat's definitely not what happened haha. They were hustling the families and trying to low-ball them and threatening them. Them settling is still less than the cost of a lawsuit as they have said there would be significant exposure from one. The billion dollar company can afford $3 million dollars, it is a drop in the bucket. Cooper was just trying to help the families get what they deserve. Them pushing for all the families to get the same amount proves that.
I don't think she's all over the place, she is smart, but just not well versed on household finances, things like that because she never needed to be due to her relationship and to an extent her culture. I never thought she has been protected as dumb.
they have never shown her to be dumb, but her english isnt always strong, and her spouse did all the bills, so she isnt up to speed on that. But she isnt dumb, she figured out on her own that if the company wasnty at fault to some degree, they wouldnt be offering her a dime

Tommy, Ainsley, Cooper and Ariana are very strong entertaining characters in the arc of the story to leave the show. I could see Monty and Angela passing.
The main characters that might die are Monty and Angela. Monty dies from a heart attack. Aynsley Angela are both kidnapped. Mom dies daughter lives. Tommy goes to war against the cartel. Cooper eventually starts running the company after Monty’s death
Maybe Cooper will run it with Monty's wife. She told Tommy to call her for all problems now. So I expect her to stick around. She could benefit by having Cooper as her partner because of his background as a petroleum engineer. And his father is already dug in pretty deep on how things are run. And it may be this is the company Cooper eventually ends up running if he marries one of Monty's daughters down the road. I never expect characters to live forever or be married forever.
I think Ryder will be taken out by the Cartel in order to kiddnap Aynsley. Tommy gets her back. They fact that the writer has Monty having his 5th heart attack and not his 1st tells me that Monty dies in an upcoming episode.
Aside from her bruised ego and dealing with the aftermath of her failed settlement negotiation with the families, Rebecca has no legal recourse to go after Cooper in my opinion. Ariana has signed the NDA absolving M-Tex from liability and has received the million dollars so there is no reason Cooper should be in Rebecca's crosshairs as far as litigation is concerned. Even if Monty decides someone is responsible for the Blowout, hanging it on Cooper when three experienced men were at the well would be a hard sell in front of any judge or jury. Besides, Cooper's involvement with Ariana began after the tragedy and proof otherwise is nonexistent.
Cooper’s Ariana is super smart. She becomes Cooper’s brain trust wife and soulmate. Ansley is caught if she’s not killed someone dies in the crossfire possibly Texas Tech QB Boyfriend. Rebecca has a life threatening awakening
I find the series very realistic after having worked in the "Oil Patch both in N.D and TX..what I find a bit repulsive is the constant potty talk and F-bombs..really is it that necessary?..
Angela has to be completely over the top to be a plausible love interest of Tommy’s. She def adds to the show, esp with showcasing how our elders still wanna have fun.

They lost me the shows pretty good but stuff like that makes it hard to watch such silliness There’s a lot of hopeless people in America today but nobody that recently got a million dollars give me a break
I foresee a path for Tommie's son with the settlement of those who died as investors that may be possibly coming. He has stated his aspirations and has studied where he wants to go so? The future plot lines have a long possibility.
I'm suprised Monty didn't get a deputy to assist him after the first heart attack. I didn't think the extra military presence would deter the Cartel from going after Tommy personally. Either pay them off or off them...
My guesses are that Monty will die, Cami will cause Tommy a headache with Rebecca, Rebecca will make Tommy the fall guy scapegoat, and eventually, Tommy will go to Cooper and take over the crumbling MTex together.
I think it will be Monty dying and Billy Bob and his son taking over. Demi Moore's Cami is the most dead weight character, but will serve in pulling in the Tommy character as an equal partner
