Thank you for helping the little bird. He had a bad concussion. Hold him in your hand for a couple minutes. If he flies away, great. If not, offer nectar. The best way to do that is with a syringe with no needle or use a spoon. The bird will flick its tongue into a syringe. Don’t push down on the plunger. Don’t put the bird in a high place like a tree. Hold him in your hand until he feels better. Never pull a hummingbird off it’s perch. You can rip his talons off.
Hi Sam, just watched the wee Hummer rescue. We do not have any hummingbirds in the UK. We can purchase stickers for our windows to prevent our small birds, sparrows, blue tits etc from striking the window pane, really prevents accidents. Glass to birds looks like open air until it is too late. Just so nice to watch your channel, Crockers recommended we watch you 😊. You are all so caring , even your wee son. A family who really care for their animals, who want only the best. Hope Poppy and Millie will be ok after their meds, just watched that video before this
You truly saved his life! Hummingbirds' metabolism is so fast that they need nectar 120 times more than body mass in 1 day and this guy was dehydrated!❤
I was in tears when it flew away .I was so happy humming birds are my favorite birds. My sister that passed away loved humming birds you did an amazing job well done😃
I love all birds but especially hummingbirds. In fact, I have two tattoos of hummingbirds. I love those too! Thank you for saving that little fella. I’m sure he’s very grateful. ❤️💜💚
God Bless you! He couldn't have been in better hands. I'm glad to see you make your own nectar. What a wonderful feeling to see it fly off!!!!! It will be back to thank you... you have a friend for life😇
I just went out and bought a glass hummingbird feeder. Find it strange they make all of them out of red plastic. Vets will tell you not to feed your pets out of red plastic bowls yet they still make hummingbird feeders out of it. They really don't need to be red. We try to put them in the shade but likely at one point the sun hits them a bit. Just food for thought because I just changed mine.
You know they recognize humans they see a few times. He will come back and buzz around your head because he will remember you ! That's happened to me several times !
I have had that happen with a couple of birds at my house through the years as well. Thankfully they have always flown away though. I am so glad the hummingbird was okay. Great video! ❤
I've had it happen twice I usually use a food netting over a hummingbird feeder, let them drink and rest.if it's two hot it takes them longer to recoup.i have dogs that's why I used the netting.when they start to fly let them go
Actually the clear stuff at Walmart in the hummingbird stuff it's good and it hydrates them, the nice thing about it is it doesn't go bad as quick as the sugar water does, no boiling, mix with purified water in jug put it in feeder and store the rest in the fridge, till next feed. I've been using it for 2yrs. and no problems. The sugar water worries me a little cause of the heat of summer even in shade, it gets moldy so fast, this stuff you can go a week!!!! Try it please and it's got vitamins in it for them as well, easier prep and faster. ☀️😇
Thank you for helping this little hummingbird. You might find some stickers or coverings to put on your windows so that the birds don't keep hitting the windows.
Good job! I had a good-sized grey hawk knock himself out when he hit one of my windows. I left him on the ground. I kept checking out the window to keep him/ her safe without frightening him. That lasted about 1 1/2 hours. Finally he gathered himself together and flew away. He still did not look happy though.
Hey Sam ,I know that this is a couple months old but, I found a Little Hummer stuck in a Cobweb a couple years ago and I tell you what, I like to NEVER got all that nasty silk off the poor thing...But I finally did, and I think that it Loved me for it...😊😊...so from that day every since I come out and I know that people think that Im Nuts 😂😂😂 couse I come out and 1st thing i do is take a long stick and knock the webs 🕸 down..I have even took a fishing 🎣 and stuck it in top of there tree to get them down....I know Long Winded...Love from NC
Excellente!!! Great learning Lesson for Jett!!! I hope he can remember that, but probably not !! He has a lot to remember for all the phenomenal happenings on your farm!!!! Great Work!!! It is a neat experience for Sam and Carly!!!! Not only Jett!!!! 🤣
Good intentions, but the poor thing needs rest, quiet & less handling! How terrifying to constantly be squeezed, so much movement, too many humans & noise! When I’ve had too much booze, don’t touch me, leave me alone to rest, don’t feed me; when I regain strength, give me water & feed me. I’m sure that’s how those poor things feel. And yes, those beautiful windows are reflecting those beautiful trees. Birds don’t know what glass is-until too late. I have one too many crashes here & found dead birds on ground. I researched & found window dots that will help. Please do this & prevent bird accidents. God bless you!
We’ve put stickers on the windows. As for handling the hummingbird, he certainly would have died if we wouldn’t have intervened. Our good intentions allowed him to recover and survive. Thank you though for your concern.
When birds hit windows, the first step is to place them in a paper box (with holes in it for air) paper towel or newspaper at the bottom, and leave them in there for at least an hour to recoup. If they start fluttering inside the box, it means they are strong enough to be let out. Handling a bird traumatizes them, regardless of our good intent. According to wild aviary recommendations, we do not feed or force drink birds after an injury but leave them alone in a quiet place. I know you meant well, and I am glad that you did made the difference for the little critter.
A broad-tailed hummingbird was stunned when she hit my window. I had the feeder too close to the house. I held her for a few minutes. She woke and flew away. I moved the feeder after that.
I am sorry that I am just now seeing this today, but this happened to me several years ago when a few of my friends and I were sitting on my front porch and a hummingbird did the same thing we picked it up put a aater bowl in front of it, it finally shook its head and took off you never know what you need to do❤😅❤😊
That happened to me the other day. He flew full force into my window bec of the trees and sky reflection. They've never done that before. I was so shocked but he turned around and flew away, although lower. I went looking for him but didn't see him. I hope he survived.
That was so great the time ur spent reviving it. It was so cool. Hopefully the bird comes back. U shud put sumthing on ur window so the no they can go threw it
Right away give a hummingbird sugar water. When they're like this they need it badly. If all you have is a cup just mix the water and sugar ,half of each and just put their beak near it while you're holding it, give it a second and it should start to drink. Don't waste any time doing this.
Have you ever watched Robbie n Gary gardening UA-cam channel? She has 1000’s of hummingbirds! All kinds if tips n tricks! I have always heard to make sure that the feeders are hung high up and always in the shade because it spoils the nectar much more quickly. I hang mine up pretty high in the trees! Also, the feeders you have you I have also and have made the holes a little bigger with a soldering tool. I also cover the plastic part with aluminum foil to reflect heat. I started with only a few about 4 years ago and now have 100’s that come back every single year, have there babies and return! Please make sure your nectar is always fresh n clean as well as the feeders themselves, otherwise you are killing the birds. If you don’t have the time to take care of them then you shouldn’t be hanging feeder’s just for your enjoyment! It’s a lot of time and work. I use the sponge bottle brush too clean the feeders and a straw cleaner to feed the ports at least every 3 days!
I have had to rescue before and I put a feeder in a hospital pan and leave on my porch and continue to check on and then once he has energy he can fly off. I usually have to rehab at least 1-3 every year. Dog kennel not very safe due to it getting caught between wire. Box or something like that so they can fly after they rest
I rescued one from a spider web and he was stunned. After holding and rubbing him for a while he finally flew away. Later in my swimming pool he flew right up to my face and chattered. Thanking me I suppose. Awesome.
Beautiful humming bird...hugs
My heart is just breaking for that little baby bird ! 💔❤️🔥❤️🩹
So happy so many experts have schooled you in hummingbird rehab. Sometimes just plain old concern and nurture works.

Thank you so much for being such a loving person to take care of God’s beautiful bird by nursing it back to health! God bless!❤❤
He's in shock and needs to be kept warm. It can take them a long time to come out of shock.
Oh good I’m so glad ! I was worried !
You can also get bird decals for your windows. That might work to keep the birds from flying into it.
I’m so happy the hummingbird is ok. They are so tiny and so cute ❤
God loves all creatures great and small ❤❤
I usually put them in a box. Leave them and let them out the next day... They always fly away. They get a little stunned for awhile. Great job 👏
That’s smart!! I’ll keep that in mind if it happens again and we’re strapped on time. Thank you very much!
Amazing!!! Great job saving that beauty

You know they recognize humans they see a few times. He will come back and buzz around your head because he will remember you !
That's happened to me several times !
Cool Scorpion!!! 🤗
👊 good job!! 🤸🤸🤸
I have always heard that boiling the water and letting it cool, will keep the water from souring so soon.
I have had that happen with a couple of birds at my house through the years as well. Thankfully they have always flown away though. I am so glad the hummingbird was okay. Great video! ❤
Thank you!!
Aawwww that was so sweet. Love a happy ending. 🥰❤
This is so awesome. You all did such a good thing. I love it.

How cute lil hummer
That was awesome 😊

Awe....that was awesome yall 👏🏻 🙌 ❤
Please try to put reflectors on the windows. Thank you for helping!
New sub, found you Jason Crocker. Looking forward to the content!! Cheers
Welcome to our channel!
Also, please widen the slits in the feeder. Birds are breaking their beaks on that particular feeder.
when a bird hits windows, it stuns them. I gently wrap then in a washcloth and just let them rest. They have always gotten better and just flew away.
Use decals on glass window please
Glad you took care of the bird
👍👍🙏
An eye dropper filled with nectar works well in this situation.
I am sorry that I am just now seeing this today, but this happened to me several years ago when a few of my friends and I were sitting on my front porch and a hummingbird did the same thing we picked it up put a aater bowl in front of it, it finally shook its head and took off you never know what you need to do❤😅❤😊

If you didn’t find him I’m sure he did.
@@junodacres 🤗i like to think that he did. I now have decals all over the windows.
We added decals too
That was Awesome ❤

To remedy birds (all) from hitting windows get some peel-off dots and place (stick to) on window pane(s).........
Move feeder out of the sun and away from the window to prevent injuries
You are the best!
That was awesome
Love
Offer it some water , if it's over heated it needs water and cooling , sugar water or not , cool moisture can be a life saver !!
Use small drop & feed him

That is so sweet of you helping the Hummingbird. What part of Oklahoma are ya in? Take care! 🙂
We’re south of Bristow. northeast corner
@junodacres Cool! Thanks for responding to me. Take care and have a wonderful week! 🙂
He’s attacking his reflection in the window.
I rescued one from a spider web and he was stunned. After holding and rubbing him for a while he finally flew away. Later in my swimming pool he flew right up to my face and chattered. Thanking me I suppose. Awesome.
