Where you Been is the masterpiece of the 90's IMHO. This song kicked me straight in the face when I first heard it. My ears haven't been the same since.
J Mascis doesn't really live in the same multiverse as the rest of us--and even when he visits he doesn't really make it all the way here. But every time he stops by he picks up another Fender made in the 1960s.
Ive been seeing em live since the tour with jesus and mary chain and with all the different band versions. They arent great live normally, messy and the lack of 'second' guitar as per recording leaves large sound gaps, BUT this spanish gig seems to easily be the best live Dino Ive seen
there's not such thing as better, its what You like most! and technically all 3 guitarists you mentioned are more complete than jmascis but still i prefer him over them
j would have you believe he's straight as these days... i tend to take him at his word but I'm pretty sure it was a different story in the green mind era :)
Seriously, one of the greatest riffs ever. J.Mascis is a genius and easily THE most underrated guitar player ever.
one of the best side 1 track 1 tunes of all time
J Mascis. Truly a fashion icon.
I owe everything to this guys, I wouldn't be making music if it wasn't for them...
Long live Dinosaur Jr...
I don't use the term "genius" often, but I think J is deserving of it.
Saw them at Lalapalooza and was hooked for life......best gutarist in the world

How time flies, still love this band after decades of listening to them.
I love how it looks like J hasn't got time to sing because he's rocking out so hard.
He is the Great White Wizard!
How can you "dislike" this?
Even 2 people...
Makes no sense.
Dinosaur Jr is pure.

figured out the opening riff and the chords to this last night .. pure heaven! the solo is likely a ways off yet though :)
It's been 13 years. You got the solo down yet?

@KnobsTheClown
Mike Johnson had a few transplants, too. After all, he played on the studio version.
i wanna see them live!!!
awesome ^^
But is he really hitting chords or just single notes? It amazes me how there isn't a horrible sound because he's hitting every other string.
If you take the mic from J Mascis, the song goes to a whole new level...
Raw power
@bbgankster I've got a feeling he may have also caused worm holes right here on earth as well....

Tremendo Juan Macías, todo un Virtuoso de la Guitarrrrrrrr.
