Me too. In 1992 the first concert I went to without my parents was Dinosaur Jr opening for the Cure. Last year, my 13 year old's first concert was Dinosaur Jr at the Fillmore in San Francisco. He loved it. It took all those complicated memories and made them better, but the irony is that my kid is going through really tough and similar shit as I was, so in a way, it just got passed down. We had a great night and rocked out hard, ears ringing after the 2 nights we saw them, and on the second night I got the roadies to give me the set list and a pick after the show. They played this song, which I love, and they played Freak Scene, which is my kid's favorite. He said it was one of the coolest things he's ever done. He has the concert poster hanging in his room to this day.

I once had a dream in about 1994. I was in a wheel chair on a path in the woods and this song was playing. When the solo hit I lifted into the air and flew for what seemed like forever. When the song was over I had to figure out how to get down. It was very scary. I don't remember the end. I think I woke up. But the feeling of flying in a dream to the outro solo of this track has been among the happiest memory of my life.

Hard to explain how special this song was back in 93. I got this record and You're Living All Over Me at about the same time. J Mascis' music is sort of thoughtfully messy. Sophisticated in a disheveled kind of way. He's never made a bad record. Love em all. But this song was my gateway and still holds a powerful sense of nostalgia and melancholy. Makes me happy and sad at the same time.
And that video. Very 90s. Which is great!

    I know your name
I know the people out there feel the same
    I know you're gone
I hope you've got some friends to come along
    I know you're out there
    I know you're gone
    You can't say that's fair
    Can't you be wrong?
    I feel OK
Sure, I know that's not what people say
    Maybe they're wrong
Maybe you weren't on my side all along
    I know you're out there
    I know you're gone
    You can't say that's fair
    Can't you be wrong?
    I know you're out there
    You're still a case
    It's still the place
    Weren't you invited?
    It's what you can't spare
Whatever's left, just hide the rest
    And bring it right in
I know it's sick I know you think a game is just a trick
    Maybe I've changed
Just tell me was this all in vain?
    I know you're out there
I know this face is not erased
    Weren't you invited?
    It's what you can't spare
Whatever's left, just hide the rest
    And bring it right in
    Maintained inside
    I've lost my range
    Feel the strains
    Weren't you invited?
    Just never try
    It's still the place
    You're still the case
    Now bring it right in
