What issues were they seeing with doing the factory primary clutch bolt to 140ft/lbs? Or was this video prior to learning about the clutch failures and thinking over torquing caused the primary’s to explode?
on the very early built machines if it was torqued to 140 the back of the clutch would rub on the primary clutch. I would have never believed if it some one told me that but we have it happen while we doing our first tests. We had a couple different clutches and torqued them to 100 ft/lbs and never saw any issues. If we torqued them to 140 it would hit.
@@EPIperformance thank you for the quick response . So these were the machines made in 2019 technically? Did Polaris update the clutches or change something so i can tell if this would happen to me?
@@Jeros-dy8bw yeah just the very first ones out that would have been built mid 2019. We reccommend to torque to 100ft/lbs on all the 2020 models though and havent seen any issues. So if you take your clutch off just torque to 100 and you should be fine.

Would it kill the bely manufacturers to put an arrow on the belt? They certainly seem capable of putting their name all over them.
2012 ranger 800xp installed mudder clutch kit and new belt but machine has no power wont go faster than 30 mph acts rpm needs to be pretty high to get wheels to move ???
i would call the EPI tech line at 218-829-6036. They will be able to walk you through some steps to diagnose it.
