Sometimes the clutch is hard to slide hammer off the splines. You can also easily remove and install the spring/weights without even removing the primary or the primary clutch bolt. Simply remove the secondary clutch then the 6 bolt primary spring cover, then you can remove the weights easily. *2021 secondary bolt is smaller, 25-27ft-lbs of torque, 2020 Pro XP clutches are 45ft-lbs* More good information on these P90X clutches: aftermarketassassins.com/tech...
Great video. Just FYI to anyone installing this clutch kit (and not needing to change limit washer)- you can do the primary spring and weights with it all on the machine just by removing the 6 10mm bolts. Just turn the primary as needed (counter clockwise only) to access the weights. I didn’t remove wheel, shock guard or anything and had easy access using this method.
Their clutch kit on my Pro XP 4 was the best part I have bought for my build. It performs really well, no slips just let it eat. I used this video for the install and it helped also. Thanks AA! Stage 3 Kit 2021 xp pro 4
You happy with it? I got the stage 2 just to fix the belt slip, considering I have a brand new rzr turbo s and when you hammer the throttle it smokes the belt automatically. Did it fix yours?
Great video. My stage 3 is installed. We will know more in a few days. Heading to Winchester bay on Wednesday. WOT at 8750RPM, on MT'(32/12.50x15) on the wet pavement of the PNW. I suspect sand and paddles will pull it down where it should be. Will know more in a few days. Great product so far.
Yep, the sand load in the dunes will drop RPM between 200-400 RPM. Test in the flats when you get to the dunes and you should be right on. Thanks! -Mike
Button wear and excessive clearance is normally a rattle at idle. Off idle, it should go away. The secondary helix has a large EBS(engine braking) notch which causes some rattle as well. Our standard EBS helix will improve this, or we now offer a Non-EBS helix which has no notch.... so it completely eliminates the secondary chatter. Thanks!
@@aftermarketassassins5491 Thank you so much for the quick reply! I'm only experiencing it if I blip thee throttle hard on the 21 Turbo XP 1300miles on it. The 22 Pro XP has 1100 miles and doesn't do it. I don' think it's catastrophic so I'm going to dig into over the winter. Thanks again
Just got a pro xp. If my clutch goes out I’ll definitely get this setup. Kinda confused over the magnet situation. Since I’m in Moab and the terrain Is so different everywhere you go I can’t see pulling the clutch apart to change weights all the time. Thanks for the great diy!
You're not necessarily changing weights when terrain changes. Your weight setup is going to be based on how much power you're putting on the ground. Now if you go back and forth between regular tire conditions to paddles in deep sand often then you'll be changing weights a little more often but its only 6 -10mm bolts. I just installed my S3 kit this evening.

Any tricks to holding the rollers in place? Mine just fall off the little studs. Or does this mean they’re trashed? They look fine but just no tension when I put them on the studs.

So for my 21 XP turbo, I don't have to use the long clutch tool to get the primary off?? The only reason I haven't put a clutch kit in mine is because I was terrified to pull my primary off. You made it look super simple!!
No, you don't have to use the clutch puller at all. Really, you can leave the half of the primary on the vehicle as well and simply install the springs/weights without removing the clutch or the center bolt. Even simpler!
For best results we suggest our helix for 2021 models, yes. The helix changed to an aluminum encapsulated roller design for 2021+ models. Our helix angles are still much better and add acceleration when combined with our clutch kit of course.
It's not needed. Because the outer half is tough to remove, oftentimes we suggest leaving the primary clutch bolted on the vehicle. Simply remove the 6 bolt spring plate and you can remove the weights in the vehicle.
Do you need to mark the location of the primary clutch to the back plate of the clutch when you take it off for balance purposes or does that not matter? Thanks in advance
