The Phantasm main theme is so underrated. Right up there with Halloween's for me. Despite the sequels having their enjoyable moments, I really like how this one works as a standalone film due to the double twist at the end. Thanks for this comment. I wanted to say something about it.
if you pause at 1:50 it looks Brandon getting a blowjob LOL. cute as fuck haha
This came out about when I turned 14. About the time Cable TV was getting started. I remember this being the first boobs I'd ever seen on TV.
I saw this film on its first-run at a drive-in. Double feature started with Corvette Summer, starring Mark Hammel, which totally did not prepare me for the main feature phantasm! Phantasm had a scary minor key soundtrack, a great jet black muscle car, and a bizarre science fiction angle which really worked well together. And of course a really creepy/scary protagonist.
Brandon - I remember reading the reviews for “Star Wars” in 1977, and they were ALL negative. That changed REALLY quickly when “Star Wars” became a HUGE hit. I bet those negative reviews are still in newspaper archives - buried REALLY deep!
Bubba Ho-Tep is one of the greatest movies of all time in the genre it's in. Just fantastic.
For 90s hip hop fans the group Mobb Deep sampled the theme to this film in their G.O.D.pt. III remix
the cemetery house was also used in the James Bond movie A VIEW TO A KILL

First time watching your work and I really enjoyed it! Great job
Oh and the shout out to the Cerebral Bore (Turok) 👍🏼
Mike's the greatest kid character in a horror film franchise and he still died :-(
Coscarelli rocks... love his movies...
I feel like this series is so important when it comes to dedicated horror films. They created a mythology ( not too solid) that is really enthralling to follow. Excellent review lol. The character development is amazing in this series, no matter how corny it gets
John dies at the end is a very awesome movie...You just gotta watch it afew times to fully understand it all
The books are the exact same way
Municipal Waste uses Reggie's speech for Guilty of Being Tight.
