You don't understand how royalties work. Their projected sales were 5 million, a bottle sells for 45 bucks or whatever, so that's 100.000 bottles sold (a bit more). So if they were to hit those sales and keep them up Kevin's royalties would've taken 10 years to be paid as that's how long it'd take them to sell 1 million bottles. A royalty has absolutely nothing to do with margins, it's about volume.
It's for clickbait so their content gets more traction. It's a marketing strategy, and a smart one nonetheless cause it drew all of our attention from the thumbnail.
With these types of deals where they're riding off the success of a celebrity endorsement and the consequent bump from being on the show, any royalty represents the investors doubt that the bubble won't burst. It's kind of a take advantage of the bubble until it bursts type of strategy. But they obviously want to think they're going to have a longer-term success, and hence want someone that has more confidence in such a thing. Its about alignment of vision.

You're clearly exaggerating. He doesn't make "snarky comments" about everybody's valuation. Also, can you blame him in this instance? 500k for only 2.5% is absolutely ridiculous! Like Maria said, it's basically nothing
Daymond literally was all over the place. He started to pitch a licensing deal, then try to get seven times more equity than what they were hoping for, then all of a sudden takes back his offer for no apparent reason.
He’s sorta of a baby when it comes to just sticking with his deal. Obviously everyone has a person in mind they would strike a deal with, but Daymond takes offense to that. Shark Tank has changed its ways since it started - this company had sales and great margins, yet he think he’s owed a higher percentage than what’s asked.
